Gardena Liano or Comfort Flex
Updated: 22 October 2026
You are looking at two hoses that both claim to bend, and the listings do not say which bend you are buying. Gardena Liano or Comfort Flex is a construction choice: a textile sheath at 22 bar burst, or a spiral-mesh Original hose with Power Grip on a higher burst ladder. Prices for all seven rows are on the [Gardena hose comparison](/hub/garden-watering/gardena-hose). Peter F. compared the amazon.co.uk bullets on 21 October 2026 with Gardena’s UK Liano page, the page for article 18445-20, and the Original hose ladder. There was no lab flex test. Liano Life is a textile sheath over a PVC tube
Liano Life is a PVC inner tube inside a woven textile cover, in 13 mm (1/2 inch) at 15 m, 25 m and 30 m. Gardena’s UK Liano page rates Life at 22 bar and 15 years after registration, and calls it the short-to-medium textile hose. The same page says “up to 50 percent lighter”. That is Gardena’s claim. These listing weights do not demonstrate it: the 10 m Comfort Flex lists 1 kg and the 15 m Liano lists 1.8 kg. Shelf prices are £39.98 for 15 m, £45.58 for 25 m and £55.76 for 30 m. Burst on the bullets is 22 bar. Power Grip is not stated. The included line on each row is the hose. Reviews that like Liano talk about coiling by hand, not about the highest bar number on the Original table.
Comfort Flex, HighFLEX and SuperFLEX are the Power Grip ladder
Comfort Flex, Comfort HighFLEX and Premium SuperFLEX are PVC hoses with a spiral mesh, and the bullets name Power Grip, the rib that lets an Original connector bite. Comfort Flex in this set is only the 10 m, at £17.81, 4.7 from 5,318 reviews, listed at 1 kg, up to a water pressure of 25 bar, with a 20-year guarantee. HighFLEX is the 20 m at £57.88 and the 50 m at £79.99, both with 30 bar on the title. SuperFLEX is the 30 m at £69.99, with 35 bar burst. Gardena’s UK Original page puts SuperFLEX at the top, 35 bar and 30 years after registration. The HighFLEX and SuperFLEX amazon lines do not print a warranty year. On Gardena’s figures the order is Liano Life 22 bar, Comfort Flex 25, HighFLEX 30 and SuperFLEX 35. A table that prints Liano near 35 bar is mixing Life with another product. Liano Xtreme is not a row here. Kink complaints appear on HighFLEX and SuperFLEX, beside buyers who report little knotting. In 21 stored reviews of the 25 m Liano, one says the cover parted at the seam. That single report is not a rate. Neither side has a kink-proof line.
Article 18445-20 is a set on Gardena’s site and a hose on Amazon
Article 18445-20 is the 15 m Liano, ASIN B0BNLNBRLF, GTIN 4066407501706. Gardena’s UK page for that article is a Liano Life set: connectors, a nozzle and tap pieces, with a 15-year warranty after registration. The amazon.co.uk listing prints the same article and the same GTIN, says one 15 m hose, adds “package may vary”, and states a 2-year manufacturer warranty. One stored review mentions a nozzle the included line does not list. Do not merge the two cartons. The 25 m and 30 m Liano rows, articles 18455-20 and 18457-20, do not carry that set-page clash. How the separate fittings go on is how to fit a Gardena hose. Until the live bullet is in front of you, 18445-20 is an ambiguous order. The £39.98 price does not say which carton you will open.
Choose textile for hand storage, spiral mesh for the higher burst line
Choose Liano Life if you will coil by hand, you accept 22 bar burst, and you will read the included line before you pay. The textile rows are 15 m, 25 m and 30 m, at £39.98, £45.58 and £55.76. Choose Comfort Flex, HighFLEX or SuperFLEX if you want Power Grip and the higher burst steps. Comfort Flex stops at 10 m and £17.81. HighFLEX is 20 m or 50 m. SuperFLEX is the 30 m at 35 bar and £69.99. The 50 m HighFLEX lists 6.69 kg, and that weight belongs with reach on Gardena hose length and pressure. For a hose hung in loops, shortlist Liano Life after you check the 18445-20 bullet. For the top of this burst ladder, shortlist the 30 m SuperFLEX, kink complaints included, connectors bought separately. The buying guide puts metres ahead of this fork.
Common questions
What is physically different about Liano Life?
Liano Life is a PVC tube inside a textile sheath. Comfort Flex, HighFLEX and SuperFLEX are spiral-mesh PVC hoses with Power Grip named on the bullets. Liano’s burst figure on these listings is 22 bar. Gardena states 15 years after registration on the Liano family page. The “up to 50 percent lighter” line is Gardena’s claim, and the weights stored for these ASINs do not prove it.
Which burst rating is higher, Liano or SuperFLEX?
SuperFLEX is higher. The 30 m Premium SuperFLEX title says 35 bar burst. Liano Life bullets say 22 bar burst. HighFLEX sits between them at 30 bar, and the 10 m Comfort Flex bullets say 25 bar, worded there as water pressure. A shop table that gives Liano about 35 bar does not match Gardena’s Life page. Call 22 bar a burst rating.
Does Liano have Power Grip on these listings?
No Power Grip line appears on the 15 m, 25 m or 30 m Liano bullets. The rib is named on Comfort Flex, HighFLEX and SuperFLEX, where it is meant to help an Original connector grip. You still buy that connector separately on every hose-only row. The rib is not a fitting in the carton.
Is Liano always a ready-to-use set?
The three amazon.co.uk rows we kept describe a hose. The 25 m and 30 m included lines say one hose. The 15 m included line says one hose as well, with “package may vary” in the title. Gardena’s own page for article 18445-20 is a set with connectors and a nozzle. Match the page you are actually ordering from.
Why does article 18445-20 appear twice?
It is one article number and one GTIN, 4066407501706, on two descriptions. Gardena UK presents a 15 m Liano Life set with a 15-year registration warranty. Amazon’s listing B0BNLNBRLF presents one hose and a 2-year manufacturer warranty. One stored review mentions a nozzle the bullet does not list. Read the live included line on the day you buy.
Will Liano kink less than HighFLEX?
The listings do not prove that. Liano reviews often praise hand coiling. HighFLEX and SuperFLEX reviews include both kink complaints and buyers who report little knotting. On the 25 m Liano, one review in a stored sample of 21 describes a seam that split. That single report is not a rate. Neither family has a kink-proof result in what we read.
