Gardena hose length and water pressure

Updated: 22 October 2026

You can already name Comfort Flex, HighFLEX, SuperFLEX or Liano, and you are stuck between a cheap 10 m coil and a 50 m reel, or between a 35 bar title and the outside tap. Gardena hose length is the walk you will make. The bar figure on these listings is a burst rating, far above the UK supply floor. The seven prices sit on the [Gardena hose comparison](/hub/garden-watering/gardena-hose). Peter F. set the stored amazon.co.uk lengths and weights, dated 21 October 2026, beside Gardena’s UK length bands, Ofwat’s pressure note, and an Anglian Water wholesale note. Flow at the end of a 50 m hose was not measured. A qualifying purchase can earn us a commission at no extra cost to you.

Gardena’s own length bands are a start, not your garden

Gardena’s UK hose page offers three bands from experience, not from your fence line. A balcony or a small garden is 10–15 m. A medium garden is 20–25 m. A larger garden is 30 m and above. Pace from the outside tap to the furthest bed, then add slack for a reel or a corner. The same lawn can change band if the tap sits on the side passage rather than at the far end. In this set the short band is Comfort Flex 10 m at £17.81 and Liano Life 15 m at £39.98. Medium is Comfort HighFLEX 20 m at £57.88 and Liano Life 25 m at £45.58. Longer is Liano Life 30 m at £55.76, Premium SuperFLEX 30 m at £69.99, and Comfort HighFLEX 50 m at £79.99. All seven are 13 mm bore. A 19 mm Gardena hose is not a listing here. How to choose family after length is on the Gardena hose buying guide.

The 10 m hose is cheap because it is short

The Comfort Flex 10 m is £17.81, listed at 1 kg, and 4.7 from 5,318 amazon.co.uk reviews, the strongest star line in the set. Our table mark follows that rating. It does not measure a garden. Price per stated metre is about £1.78, close to the 50 m hose, so the low cash price is the short length. Bullets say up to a water pressure of 25 bar and a 20-year guarantee, and the title says without parts. Buy it when the walk, with slack, sits inside about 10 m. Skip it when the vegetables are twenty metres from the tap. The 4.7 score would still be true of a hose that cannot reach. The 15 m Liano at £39.98 and 1.8 kg is the other short-band row, at 22 bar burst, and the fittings line still says the hose. Who should skip each row is on the best Gardena hose for a UK garden.

Fifty metres is £79.99 and 6.69 kg on the listing

The Comfort HighFLEX 50 m, article 18066-20, is £79.99, 4.6 from 5,093 reviews, 30 bar burst on the title, and 6.69 kg in the weight field. Price per stated metre is about £1.60, the shelf price divided by the stated length, not a lab metric. The listing does not print a warranty year. On a reel that weight is what you pull. On a balcony it is surplus hose. The 20 m HighFLEX, article 18063-20, is titled 20 m, with the scope line and a dimension line at 20 m, a listed weight of 1.32 kg, and a separate item-length field of 200 centimetres. Read the live title if that clash makes you doubt the parcel. Connector work, once length is confirmed, is on how to fit a Gardena hose. At £57.88 the 20 m row is about £2.89 per stated metre. The 30 m SuperFLEX lists 1.45 kg at £69.99. That kilogram is the listing field and was not checked on a scale. The 30 m Liano lists 3.25 kg and the 25 m Liano lists 2.84 kg. None of these listings prints a flow curve, so this page will not state a litre loss at 50 m.

22 to 35 bar is not the pressure in the tap

Liano Life is 22 bar burst on the bullets. Comfort Flex bullets say the 10 m hose can be used up to a water pressure of 25 bar. HighFLEX titles say 30 bar burst. The SuperFLEX title says 35 bar burst. Gardena’s Original ladder uses that climb, with 30 years after registration at the SuperFLEX step. The number rates the hose wall. It does not describe the supply. Ofwat’s minimum is 0.7 bar in the communication pipe, described as seven metres of static head. Anglian Water’s wholesale note restates that floor and flags a low-pressure risk if 1 bar is not available at the external stop tap at 9 litres per minute. Those are supply statements, not a measured pressure at your outside tap. Hozelock’s help page calls 1 bar about a ground-floor tap on its own products. That scale is not a reason to divide 35 into a tap pressure. Buy length for the walk, and read 22, 25, 30 or 35 bar as Gardena’s burst ladder.

Common questions

How long a hose does Gardena suggest?
Gardena’s UK page uses 10–15 m for a balcony or small garden, 20–25 m for a medium garden, and 30 m upwards for a larger one. Pace the tap to the furthest point and add slack for a reel or a corner. In this set that points to the £17.81 10 m or the £39.98 15 m at the short end, and to the £79.99 50 m only when the walk is long. Your path can sit between two bands.
Is the 10 m hose the best value because it is £17.81 and 4.7 stars?
It is the lowest cash price and the strongest star line, 4.7 from 5,318 reviews. Price per stated metre is about £1.78, close to the 50 m hose at about £1.60. The value holds when 10 m reaches. It disappears when you needed 25 m and bought the short coil because the rating looked decisive. The stars describe that listing, not the shape of the garden.
What does the 50 m hose weigh on the listing?
The item-weight field says 6.69 kg for the Comfort HighFLEX 50 m at £79.99. That mass suits a reel on a long run. It is a poor match for a balcony, where most of the hose would stay coiled. The listing does not state a warranty year for this row. The title length and the dimension line both say 50 m.
Does 35 bar mean the tap runs at 35 bar?
The 35 bar line on the 30 m SuperFLEX is a burst figure on the title, matching the top of Gardena’s Original ladder. Ofwat’s minimum in the communication pipe is 0.7 bar. Anglian Water’s note talks about 1 bar at the external stop tap in a low-pressure warning, at 9 litres per minute. None of those sources says a household tap supplies 35 bar. Read the title as a hose rating.
Why does one 20 m listing also say 200 cm?
Comfort HighFLEX article 18063-20 is £57.88, titled 20 m, with the scope line and a dimension line at 20 m and a listed weight of 1.32 kg. Another item-length field says 200 centimetres. Treat the field as a conflict and check the live title. The connector fitting is unchanged either way. If the title is right, the price per stated metre is about £2.89.
Will a longer 13 mm hose lose flow?
A longer narrow hose adds friction, and that can soften the stream at a spray gun. These listings do not print a flow curve, so there is no honest litre figure for 50 m versus 10 m. This page will not say the flow halves. If reach is the problem, buy the metres. If you wanted a wider bore, 19 mm is outside this set.
