The best laminate cutter for the board you are laying

Updated: 21 October 2026

The best laminate cutter in this set depends on the plank, not on the highest star line. A 4.6 from a few hundred reviews and a 3.6 from several thousand are answering different questions, and a 17 mm title is not the same thing as a clean 12 mm cut. You are choosing among six amazon.co.uk listings for one floor. Peter F. applied the measures in our [laminate cutter comparison](/hub/flooring-tools-and-accessories/laminate-cutter). We did not run a lab test. A qualifying purchase can earn us a commission at no extra cost to you. Say the job first, then the listing, and leave the listing if the skip line is you.

Our top picks

On this page

For a wide 8 mm plank, if you can lift about 10 kg

The top pick for a wide 8 mm click floor, if you can lift it, is the WORKPRO W101019A at £139.99, with 4.6 from 453 reviews. A UK reviewer laid 8 mm B&Q laminate at 315 mm. Another reported 10 mm and 12 mm, and a different reviewer returned it because 12 mm was not clean, so 16 mm stays a claim. Skip it for a rip, for 10.7 kg you cannot store, or for a 12 mm floor that must be clean every time. Wickes lists a Roberts 330 mm cutter at £140. That page is not this ASIN.

For a lighter, thinner board, the Wolfcraft is the different tool

The Wolfcraft LC 600, model 6937000, is £52.95, with 3.6 from 3,792 reviews. The bullet matches the maker: standard laminate up to 8 mm, or 11 mm only with integrated underlay, at 2 kg. The maker states up to 465 mm. The Amazon cell does not, so 465 mm is not an Amazon figure. Stop off, it claims a lengthwise cut the heavy tables do not. Reviews describe a ragged underside, a limit around 6 mm, and ruined vinyl the bullet never states. Skip it for 12 mm and for vinyl. Past this cap, see cutting thick laminate.

The mid-price tables are not a second WORKPRO

Best value for thin click flooring, with wheels and a lock nearer £92, is the Zozen at £91.99 and 4.4 from 234 reviews. Title 33 cm, bullet 31 cm. Reviews name finished 8 mm and 5 mm LVT, plus a 12 mm cut that was not clean. Screws sheared for one buyer, and a blade wore out after about 200 boards with no spare named. The chain brake locks the handle. Skip it for 12 mm and if you need one agreed width. CutTool at £109.00, 4.1 from 2,993 reviews, adds a laying kit, states no thickness, and a review says it will not rip.

Skip the narrow jaw and do not buy the dearest title

MAIHUITE at £149.99, 4.5 from 245 reviews, titles a latch and up to 17 mm. Reviews include easy SPC, a 14 mm cut, a struggle at 10 mm, and blade screws that would not hold. Do not buy it because it is the dearest. Roughneck at £41.38, 3.8 from 121 reviews, states 200 mm and up to 11 mm. It is the lowest spend for narrow square end cuts, and the wrong spend for a wide plank or for 12 mm. Trade guillotines on Flooring Tools Direct run from about £605 to about £852, a catalogue range, not a test.

Common questions

Which of these is the one to buy for a normal 8 mm floor?
If the plank is wide, around 190–245 mm or the 315 mm board a WORKPRO reviewer named, and you can lift 10.7 kg, the WORKPRO at £139.99 is the top pick. If you want a 2 kg tool the listing says will cut lengthways, the Wolfcraft at £52.95 is the different choice. If you want wheels nearer £92, the Zozen is the best value case, with 31 cm and 33 cm both stated.
Why is the Wolfcraft cheaper and lower rated?
It is a light shear at £52.95 and 2 kg, capped at 8 mm for standard laminate, or 11 mm only with integrated underlay. The 3.6 from 3,792 reviews is the most divided record here, with a ragged underside and boards that would not shear once the pack got thicker. The price is low because the tool is small. The stars are low because a large minority had a bad time.
Is the WORKPRO worth £139.99 over the Zozen?
It is worth the gap when you need the stated 340 mm width and the review that names 8 mm laminate at 315 mm. The Zozen is £91.99, with finished thin LVT in its reviews and a title and bullet that disagree on width. It is not worth the gap for 5–8 mm LVT that fits inside 31 cm. Neither price buys a proved 12 mm cut.
Who should skip the Roughneck?
Skip it when the plank is wider than the stated 200 mm, when you need 45° on a board that already fills that jaw, or when the pack is 12 mm. The listing says up to 11 mm. At £41.38 it is the lowest spend for narrow boards and square end cuts. It is not a budget version of a 330 mm table.
Which listing includes a laying kit?
The CutTool listing at £109.00 includes a 600-grit oilstone, a tapping block, a pull bar, and 20 spacers. The WORKPRO box includes a stone, a ruler, hex keys, and wheels, not that laying set. The CutTool bullets still do not state a thickness, so the kit does not answer the millimetre question.
