Ring doorbell subscription

Updated: 23 October 2026

A Ring doorbell subscription is how Ring sells saved video. It is not the switch that turns Live View on. Solo, Multi, and AI Pro are three UK prices for one address, and a 30-day trial starts at setup unless that location already has a plan. This page uses those Ring figures. It does not pick a doorbell from the [Ring doorbell comparison](/hub/electronic-surveillance/ring-doorbell). We checked the plan page and the amazon.co.uk titles on 21 October 2026. What works with no plan

Live View, motion alerts, and two-way talk are described without a subscription. Ring says you can watch for up to 10 minutes with no plan. Recorded events need a plan. Extended live view and multi-camera live view are paid. Up to 180 days of saved video is sold separately, and person and package alerts on the 1536p Plus bullets are tied to a subscription. A second camera changes which plan is cheaper. Power stays on the battery or wired page.

Solo, Multi, and AI Pro

Solo is £4.99 a month or £49.99 a year for one device. Multi is £7.99 a month or £79.99 a year for every device at one address. AI Pro, with video descriptions, is £15.99 a month or £159.99 a year. In 2026 Ring renamed Home Basic and Home Standard to Solo and Multi. If a post still says Basic, check the price. Annual Solo is a little under twelve times £4.99. Annual Multi is £79.99. None of these figures is a US plan or an old £2.50 line. The listing can include a trial. The renewal is the price above.

One doorbell or a second camera

One doorbell is Solo: £49.99 a year or £4.99 a month. A bundle with an indoor camera or a Stick Up Cam is two devices. Two Solo plans are about £99.98 a year. Multi is £79.99 a year, about £20 less, for the devices at that address. Monthly, two Solos are £9.98 and Multi is £7.99. The best Ring doorbell page names which boxes add the second camera. Face recognition in one indoor-bundle file was often wrong, so AI Pro is a paid extra, not a reason to skip Multi.

The 30-day trial

Ring starts a 30-day trial at setup unless that location already has a plan. A second doorbell for the same address does not add another free month. B0GTZSTQQM and B0FQCF3L3D do not name a trial. When it ends, Live View, alerts, and two-way talk remain. Event history does not. Reviewers on the 2K Plus chime bundle said trial features disappeared when they did not subscribe. The doorbell choice is on the buying guide. The plan is the bill after that choice.

Common questions

Does the doorbell work with no plan?
Yes for live use. Ring says Live View works without a subscription for up to 10 minutes, and the listings describe motion alerts and two-way talk without the plan. Recorded events and the up to 180 days line need Solo, Multi, or AI Pro. It is a live camera without a history if you never subscribe.
What do I lose when the trial ends?
You lose the paid recording and the extras Ring locks to a tier, including event history and, on some bullets, person and package alerts. Reviewers described features vanishing after the trial when they did not pay. You do not lose Live View and talk. A location that already had a plan never received that trial.
How much is Solo for one doorbell?
£4.99 a month or £49.99 a year, on Ring’s UK plans page, for one device. That is the tier for a single doorbell at one address. It is not the price of the doorbell. Shelf prices in this set still run from about £29.99 to about £89.98. The plan does not include a second camera unless you move to Multi.
When is Multi cheaper than a second Solo?
As soon as two devices share one address. Two annual Solo plans are about £99.98. Multi is £79.99 a year for the devices at that address. Two monthly Solos are £9.98 against Multi at £7.99. One doorbell should stay on Solo.
What does AI Pro add?
Ring prices it at £15.99 a month or £159.99 a year and attaches video descriptions to that tier. It is the dearest plan on the UK page. Reviews in one indoor bundle mention written descriptions and face recognition that was often wrong. Solo already prices stored clips from one doorbell.
Does a bundle’s indoor camera need its own Solo?
It needs cover for a second device if you want its clips saved. That can be its own Solo, at another £49.99 a year, or Multi at £79.99 a year for the address. The camera being in the same carton does not put it on the doorbell’s Solo.
Do I get another free month if I already subscribe at this address?
No. Ring starts the 30-day trial at setup unless that location already has a plan. A second doorbell or a bundle camera added later does not reset the month. B0GTZSTQQM and B0FQCF3L3D do not name a trial in the saved listing even for a first setup.
