Best security escutcheon

Updated: October 2026

You want one plate from this amazon.co.uk shelf, and several listings show 5.0. The best security escutcheon inside this set is a euro rose with a rating count large enough to read, not a single five-star click and not a certificate none of them prints. By the end you should know which pair that is, which cheaper pair is the alternative, and who should skip both. Live prices are on the [security escutcheon comparison](/hub/door-and-window-security/security-escutcheon). Peter F. compared the kept listings and public UK lock guidance, updated 19 October 2026. The criterion, before any name

Trade pages rank Kitemarked 2-star furniture. This page cannot, because none of the ten listings shows a Kitemark, TS 007, Sold Secure, PAS 24, or Secured by Design. The criterion used here is a euro rose, a visible price, and the largest amazon.co.uk rating count, with the faults in those reviews kept in view. Livawnd, UEKPDM and AXS are each 5.0 from one rating. Bwintech and Ultion Sweet are 5.0 from four. HanaMoon is 4.6 from three. XFORT has 4.5 from 105 ratings at about £9.99. Amig has 4.4 from 65 ratings at about £5.43. The Victorian cover has 23 ratings and fails because it is a mortice flap. The most-reviewed euro pair is the pick. The cheaper large-count pair is the alternative. When to leave the set is the security escutcheon buying guide.

The most-reviewed euro pair

XFORT is a polished chrome pair on brass at about £9.99, made in India, weighing 102 g. The listing says concealed screws and a screw plate, for euro and thumb-turn cylinders, inside or outside. Across 105 ratings the average is 4.5. If you want a chrome rose with the screw heads hidden, and you can send a bad pair back, this is the top pick on that criterion. UK reviews say screws round off, that a pair arrived screwed together and would not separate, and that the keyhole is large enough to see into the lock. No diameter is printed. A drilling bullet is a seller claim. Return the pair if the halves will not come apart. Do not drill the cylinder retaining screw. The joint cylinder guide says that screw is tightened by hand. The sequence is on the how to fit a euro escutcheon page.

The lower-priced square rose

Amig, model 5RX, is two square stainless roses at about £5.43, each 52 × 52 mm and 7 mm thick, with 8 mm projection and 54 mm centre spacing, made in Spain. The pair weighs 110 g. The bullets describe a euro-cylinder cover for interior and exterior. At 4.4 from 65 reviews it is the best value: a low price against a count you can read. One UK review says the roses were easy. Another says the inner piece has only an oval hole and is tricky to line up. The 8 mm figure is the rose, not a waiver of the 3 mm cylinder-projection rule in the Master Locksmiths Association guideline and on ERA's measuring sheet. A square plate can also clash with a round handle rose. Offer it up before you drill.

Who should not use either pick

Skip both if the hole is a mortice keyhole. The Infinity Decor Victorian cover is 35 mm, antique brass, keyhole 22 × 8 mm, about £8.95, 3.9 from 23 reviews. Reviewers say the screws are too long. A euro rose will not convert that slot. Skip both if you wanted a finger pull. Ultion Sweet is about £12.90 in satin nickel. The bullets say 76 × 32 mm. The dimensions line says 7 × 3 × 8 cm. One UK review used it on a composite door with an Ultion Alps cylinder. The manufacturer page used here does not give that pull a TS 007 star. Buy it for the pull, once the cylinder is already specified. If the worry is lock snapping, a 3-star TS 007 cylinder or an SS 312 Diamond cylinder is a cylinder purchase. A 1-star cylinder needs tested 2-star furniture. The Eurospec AEB1750, a Kitemarked 2-star pair at about £28.18 including VAT, is not in this set. The fork is on the security escutcheon versus cylinder guard page. Leave the set if the door needs a certificate.

Common questions

Which listing has the most ratings?
XFORT has 4.5 from 105 amazon.co.uk ratings, at about £9.99. Amig is next among the euro roses, with 4.4 from 65 ratings at about £5.43. The other eight listings have between one and 23 ratings. The Victorian cover's 23 ratings belong to a mortice flap, so they do not make it the euro pick.
Is the most-reviewed plate the most secure?
No. The most-reviewed plate is the one more people have rated. XFORT's bullets say the plate helps prevent drilling, and the listing shows no Kitemark and no TS 007 line. Security, in the locksmith sense, is a tested cylinder or tested furniture. Review volume tells you about fit and finish complaints, including screws that round off.
What is the cheapest plate with a large rating count?
Amig at about £5.43, with 65 ratings. HanaMoon is cheaper at about £5.29, and it has three ratings and one cover, so it fails the large-count part of the question. A low price with one review is not the same evidence.
Who should skip XFORT?
Skip it if you need a printed diameter, a square matte rose, a mortice flap, or a documented anti-snap mark. Skip it if you cannot return a pair that arrives screwed together. The large aperture some reviewers describe is a reason to look at the hole with the key in, before you decide the chrome was worth it.
Is the Ultion pull the best security product here?
It is the only finger pull, at about £12.90, and one UK review used it on a composite door with an Alps cylinder. The listing's 5.0 comes from four ratings. The manufacturer page used here does not award the escutcheon a TS 007 star. Buy it for the pull. Buy a tested cylinder if the job is snapping.
What should I buy instead if I need anti-snap?
A cylinder that is SS 312 Diamond or TS 007 3-star, or a 1-star cylinder with Kitemarked 2-star furniture. That purchase is outside this amazon.co.uk set. A 5.0 from one rating, which is where Livawnd, UEKPDM and AXS sit, is not a reason to treat those kits as the secure alternative. A rose can still tidy the hole once the cylinder stands no more than 3 mm proud.
