Best wasp trap: who each listing in this set is for

Updated: 17 October 2026

Every title in this set says it catches wasps, and none of them puts a bottle of lure in the box. If you want the best wasp trap for a patio or a fruit bush, the useful question is which listing’s evidence matches your job. On 16 October 2026 these ten amazon.co.uk pots ran from £5.89 to £12.99. A 4.2 from 11,088 ratings is a different fact from a 5.0 from three ratings. Products Compared read those listing figures and the UK review notes. We did not lab-test a catch rate, and this page does not name a tested winner. The model table is the [wasp trap comparison](/hub/traps/wasp-trap). What best can mean for these ten pots

Best on other UK pages often means a bait sachet, a nest foam, or a brand that is not in this comparison. Inside this set, the criterion is the amazon.co.uk star line read next to the review count, then the fault UK reviewers actually repeat. Stars alone promote a three-review file. A low price alone promotes a pack whose seams leak. A strong review file means people report catches in the pot. It does not mean the garden is cleared, and it does not mean a loft nest is treated. If you are not yet sure a pot is the right tool, start with the wasp trap buying guide.

The listing with the heavy review count

The Aspectek 2-pack, ASIN B00HFDGMNO, was £11.19, with 4.2 from 11,088 reviews. That count is the heaviest evidence in the set. You get two reusable ABS gourd traps, 12.5 × 12.5 × 15.5 cm, and a printed apple-cider-vinegar recipe rather than a bottle. The listing also names fruit flies and gnats, and it claims selective entries to reduce the chance of trapping bees. That bee line is a claim, the same class of evidence as a vinegar sentence, and it is not a test. In the first 50 UK reviews, people describe wasps and large flies when they bait with water, jam, and vinegar. A beekeeper with three hives said the printed recipe reduced wasps taking honey. The limit is the entrance on newer units. Reviewers who owned an older trap say the lid hole is now larger, so wasps get out, and some patch it with tape. The hanging string also fails, and the trap smashes when it drops. Choose Aspectek when you want the largest UK file and you will look at the lid before you hang it. Skip it if you need insects to stay in without a repair, or if the job is a nest in the roof.

The glass honey pot, and the plastic ones with a weak star line

The CKB glass bottle, B07VK7X78K, was £12.99, with 4.3 from 493 reviews. It is one trap, about 18.5 cm tall and 700 g, with a metal hanger, glass feet, and a cork. The hole is in the bottom. UK reviewers call the glass more attractive than a plain plastic pot, and several report real catches, including one claim of more than 50 wasps in just over a week. The trade-off is emptying. A full bottle of wasps is awkward to clean. If the honey-and-water mix is too shallow, insects get out again. At £12.99 it is the dearest piece here, so you are paying for one visible pot and a larger review file than the plastic CKB packs, not for bait. The plastic 4-pack, B0GY1CVYMK, was also £11.99, and the star line is the weakest in the set: 2.4 from 55 reviews. UK reviewers say all four leak at the seam once liquid is added, the holes sit so low that little bait fits, and the lids and plastic are fragile. Cheaper per piece is not a stronger pot. The plastic 2-pack, B0GY1T52RK, is the same £11.99 for two, at 3.6 from 46 reviews. It does not carry that seam-leak theme in the UK review texts, but the safe fill below the holes is still very small.

Cheap packs and thin files

Ram, B085LJV3VT, was £5.99 for four, at 3.8 from 542 reviews. That is a real sample at the bottom of the price range. Short reviews say they work with honey diluted in hot water, or sweet juice. The repeated fault is wasps that fly in and straight out of a top hole. Two bullets describe a fruit-fly catcher, which does not match the wasp title. The title also names bees. If pollinators are the worry, use the wasp traps and bees page rather than treating bee as a feature. Three other files are too thin to promote. DXPETA, B0GY3PWPRQ, was £5.89 with 4.0 from two reviews, and the title claims both a trap and a fake nest. That split is the wasp trap versus decoy page. XIAOjnHONG, B0H28F5NGK, was £11.59 with 5.0 from three reviews, and the listing says both glass and plastic. A 5.0 on three ratings does not outrank 4.2 on 11,088. WenYa, at £11.99 with 4.0 from 10 reviews, names carpenter bees. Trendecor, at £10.99 with 4.0 from 17 reviews, is a short file. V·Colokishi, at £7.99 with 3.7 from 89 reviews, has side entrances that let wasps back out. If the nuisance is foragers away from where you sit, start with Aspectek when the review count matters, or the glass CKB when you want one bottle and will empty it. Use Ram only if a cheap 4-pack is the point and you will check the exit hole.

Common questions

Which wasp trap has the strongest evidence in this set?
The Aspectek 2-pack, at £11.19 on 16 October 2026, shows 4.2 from 11,088 amazon.co.uk reviews. That is the largest review count here. UK texts describe catches with jam, water, and vinegar, and they also describe a larger lid hole that lets wasps out. Strong evidence is not a laboratory ranking, and it is not a nest treatment. The Royal Horticultural Society still treats the effect on local numbers as unclear.
Is the CKB glass bottle better than the Aspectek 2-pack?
It depends on the job. The glass CKB is £12.99, 4.3 from 493 reviews, one bottle about 18.5 cm tall, and reviewers like the look. They also say it is awkward to clean once full, and wasps leave if the bait is shallow. Aspectek is two ABS traps at £11.19 with far more reviews, and a known lid-hole complaint. Choose glass for a single visible pot you will empty. Choose Aspectek when you want the heavier review file and two chambers.
Why is a 5.0 from three ratings not the top of this list?
Three ratings can all be positive and still tell you almost nothing about leaks, escapes, or a bad batch. XIAOjnHONG’s 5.0 from three reviews sits next to a listing that claims both glass and plastic, and both 90 g and 450 g. Aspectek’s 4.2 comes from 11,088 reviews, and the CKB glass 4.3 comes from 493. The count is part of the evidence. A perfect star line on a handful of ratings is not the same fact.
Is the cheapest 4-pack good value?
Ram is £5.99 for four, with 3.8 from 542 reviews, so the sample is large and the shelf price is low. Value still depends on the entrance. Reviewers say wasps fly straight back out of a top hole, and the bullets include fruit-fly copy that does not match the title. The CKB plastic 4-pack is £11.99, at 2.4 from 55 reviews, with leaking seams. A low price per pot does not repair a pot that will not hold liquid.
Which listing should I skip if wasps walked out of the last pot?
Skip any listing whose UK reviews already describe an exit. That includes newer Aspectek lids, Ram’s top hole, the V·Colokishi side entrances, and the CKB plastic pots whose holes sit in the bait. A one-way bullet does not cancel those notes. If the last failure was a leak rather than an escape, the CKB plastic 4-pack is the one to leave, because the seam leak is the repeated complaint there.
Do any of these include the liquid?
No. On this 16 October 2026 snapshot, none of the ten listings included a lure bottle. Aspectek prints an apple-cider-vinegar recipe. Other pages suggest sugar, jam, honey, or vinegar. You still buy those ingredients yourself. Early spring, pest-control guidance points to a protein bait. From mid-summer the mix is sugary. The recipe steps are on the how-to page, not a reason to treat a thin review file as a better trap.
Is there a test winner?
No. Nothing in this set was compared in a lab, and a high amazon.co.uk star line is not a safety test or a catch-rate percentage. We are not awarding a tested best. The shortlist above is conditional: heavy evidence, a glass bottle you will clean, or a cheap pack whose exit you check. A nest that risks people is still a controller’s job, not a winning ASIN.
