Best bird trap UK

Updated: 21 October 2026

You are trying to pick a bird trap from seven amazon.co.uk listings, and the stars look like a ranking. They are not. The highest figure is 3.6, once from two silent ratings and once from four ratings on a net. The cages large enough to read as pigeon cages sit lower. A best bird trap UK page has to say who each listing is for, and who should leave it. Shelf prices are on the [bird trap comparison](/hub/traps/bird-trap). Peter F. used the amazon.co.uk files dated 19 October 2026. This was not a catch test. If you buy through our links, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

One-way pigeon cages

Two listings are one-way cages with a longest side of at least 40 cm. The ybaymy is iron, 60 × 40 × 26 cm and 4 kg, with four one-way doors and a stated 2 cm mesh, at about £37.99 and 1.8 out of 5 from four ratings. A UK reviewer said pigeons got in and then escaped through the sides within three days. A review from France says cable ties and no instructions. The reason to look at it is the stated size, not the stars. The HFSAZJ is wire, 40 × 30 × 26 cm, sold as one door, while the bullets also say four-side entrances. It has 2.3 out of 5 from eight ratings, the most in the set. UK reviewers describe a cable-tie kit, a door the wrong size, pigeons that would not enter, and one comment that it was sturdy once assembled. If the door does not meet the panel, it is not a trap yet. That check is on the how to set a pigeon trap page.

Wooden cages

The three MetS listings are wooden. B01HBMXAZQ is 36.8 × 16 × 22.5 cm, target finch, indoor, about £39.98, 3.6 from two ratings, and no review text. The title mentions a calling area. The table says one door. The breed line also says parrot and cockatiel. A 16 cm width cannot hold a feral pigeon, and two silent ratings are not a finch trial. B07FS46F69 adds a tray at 30 × 16 × 22.5 cm, about £37.98, 2.9 from two ratings. The only review text is A+. The bullets say two doors and the table says one. B07FS2BZBS is a pack of two at about £39.59, with no dimensions, finch on the label, and 2.0 from one rating. Skip all three for feral pigeons. If the bird is a finch indoors, B01HBMXAZQ is the one with a full size line. The object split is the bird trap buying guide.

Gonetre Gonetre bird catching net
7.2/10about £18.19

The net and the 12 cm cube

The Gonetre listing is a polyethylene catching net, 360 g, about £18.19, 3.6 from four ratings, named for sparrows, pigeons, budgies and quail. Dimensions are absent. The only written review, from the United States, says there were no instructions and that a video did not make the net work. Section 5 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 restricts nets for taking wild birds unless a licence allows that method. The Peosaard is about £27.49. The technical table says 12 × 12 × 12 cm and 1.7 kg, while the title names pigeon, sparrow, mouse, rabbit and chicken. There is no rating line. A 12 cm cube cannot hold a pigeon on the seller’s own dimensions. Use the table.

What best cannot mean here

No independent UK test of these seven ASINs is in the files used here. Eight reviews is the largest pile, on the cage with the door complaint. A specialist Larsen near £100, with a decoy compartment, is not in this basket. Do not invent a catch rate, or a claim that any listing is government-approved. Look at the 60 cm cage when stated volume matters and you will test every joint. Look at the £11.89 cage when you want the lowest price and the most ratings, and return it if the door does not fit. Look at a MetS cage only for a finch-sized indoor box. If the licence is still open, the stars will not settle it.

Common questions

Which listing is a one-way pigeon cage rather than a finch cage?
The ybaymy, 60 × 40 × 26 cm, with four one-way doors on the listing, and the HFSAZJ, 40 × 30 × 26 cm, sold as one door. The MetS cages that state a target say finch, or bird on the tray model, and the sized ones are about 16 cm wide. The Gonetre listing is a net. The Peosaard table says 12 cm. A title that says bird does not move a 16 cm wooden box into the pigeon group.
Why is the cheaper cage not automatically the one to buy?
The HFSAZJ is about £11.89, against about £37.99 for the ybaymy. It also has the clearest UK complaints about assembly: cable ties, no instructions, a door the wrong size, and pigeons that would not enter. One reviewer did call the finished cage sturdy. Price tells you what you pay. It does not tell you that the door meets the frame when the reviews say it did not.
Which products have no written reviews?
The MetS cage B01HBMXAZQ shows 3.6 from two ratings and no review text. The two-pack B07FS2BZBS shows 2.0 from one rating and no review text. The Peosaard cube has no rating line. The tray cage has text, but only the words A+. A star with no sentence is not a description of mesh, doors or a catch.
Can the 12 cm cube be a pigeon trap on the stated dimensions?
No. The Peosaard listing prints 12 × 12 × 12 cm and 1.7 kg, at about £27.49, and the title still says pigeon. A pigeon does not fit a 12 cm cube. The same title names rabbit and chicken, which do not fit either. There is no customer review to set against the table. Use the table as the size.
Where does the net sit if the page is about cages?
Beside them, not among them. The Gonetre net is about £18.19, 360 g, 3.6 from four ratings, with no dimensions. The only written review, from the United States, says there were no instructions. It does not have a one-way door. If your job is a mesh cage birds walk into, this is the listing to skip, even though the star average is higher than the pigeon cages.
What should you skip if you need a Larsen?
This whole set. A Larsen is a decoy cage for corvids, not a food-entry pigeon cage, and none of these seven ASINs is sold as one. A UK specialist price near £99.99 is a different shop. Corvid licensing is not settled by picking the highest stars on a finch cage or a pigeon title.
