Genuine Makita angle grinder or compatible

Updated: 22 October 2026

You already own Makita 18 V packs, and the search results are mostly other brands in a similar colour. A sentence that says compatible with Makita is a pack-fit claim. It is not a Makita body, not Makita’s guarantee, and not proof the pack will click in. This page is the brand fork for the eleven listings. The [Makita angle grinder comparison](/hub/tools/makita-angle-grinder) is the price table. Peter F. used the saved amazon.co.uk files on 22 October 2026. No lab test. Three listings are Makita

The brand field says Makita on three ASINs. The DGA454Z is the 18 V bare 115 mm body at about £179.06, 8,500 rpm, 4.8 from 465 reviews, The XAG25Z is the 18 V bare X-LOCK tool at about £124.27, 4.5 from 395 reviews whose captured bodies are from the United States. The 9557HNR/1 is the corded 110 V tool at about £89.49, with M14 x 2.0 and no review line. Those are the only three rows that can answer yes. Genuine still leaves gaps. The DGA454Z table lists no battery, charger, disc, guard, or spindle. The XAG25Z excludes the battery and prints voltage 120 and 454 g, which you should not use. The 9557HNR/1 will not run from a 13 A socket. Makita UK’s consumer terms describe one year, with a registration route for a consumer, and they exclude business use.

Eight listings only name the packs

Synxiter, laloohome, Gautesy, Roadtime, Fledukten, and Heimerdinger are the brand fields on the rest. Their titles say the body is for a Makita 18 V battery, or they list pack codes such as BL1830, BL1840, BL1850, and BL1860B. None of that text changes the manufacturer line. Compatible is a claim about a pack, not about the factory. One UK review of the £29.99 laloohome says the housing looks close to Makita. These eight run from £29.99 to £69.99, against about £179.06 for the genuine bare body. The Synxiter at about £57.99 has four UK reviews, all on 30 August 2026, saying the packs fitted. The Heimerdinger has 4.3 from 175 reviews and is still not a Makita. The checks in order are the buying guide.

A compatibility line can fail

On several of these rows, UK reviewers say the pack they already owned did fit. The Synxiter reviews say that. The laloohome 125 mm reviews say that. The Heimerdinger themes say Makita 18 V packs fit when the tool is not forced. That is evidence about those parcels, not a promise for the next listing with the same adjective. The opposite exists on a different ASIN. The OPSS report for a Heimerdinger LB183 is not this LB202. The alert ASIN is not B0DJKTBYVZ. A UK review on the LB183 listing says the buyer’s Makita batteries did not fit. Do not merge that failure into the LB202 row.

Do not put the kit batteries on a Makita

The Fledukten at £69.99 looks generous and then contradicts itself. The box includes two 21 V 4.0 Ah batteries and a 21 V charger. The technical line prints 18 V. The bullets claim Makita 18 V compatibility and also say the included batteries must not be used on other brands. Those packs do not go on your Makita drill or the DGA454Z. The listing is 3.8 from nine reviews, and the saved bodies are from Germany and the United States. M14 in the bullets does not make the grinder a Makita. Use the kit only if you will own a separate battery family.

When the genuine body is the point

Buy the DGA454Z when the point is a Makita body, you already own the packs, and you will not order M14 hole cutters until you have checked the spindle the table leaves blank. UK reviewers use it for a thin-disc cut and a flap wheel, and a heavy cut eats a 4 Ah or 5 Ah pack. A third-party body is a different brand. The XAG25Z is the genuine alternative only if X-LOCK is the mount you want. Who each genuine row is for is best Makita angle grinder.

Common questions

How many of these eleven are brand Makita?
Three. The DGA454Z, the XAG25Z, and the 9557HNR/1. The other eight name Makita packs and carry a different brand field: Synxiter, laloohome (two rows), Gautesy (two rows), Roadtime, Fledukten, and Heimerdinger. Counting titles that say for Makita will give you the wrong total. Count the brand field.
Does a teal housing mean Makita?
No. One laloohome reviewer says the colour is close. The brand field and the manufacturer line are the check. A close colour is a reason to slow down at the basket, especially when the price is £29.99 rather than about £179.06. Paint does not move the guarantee across.
Will any named BL18 pack fit because the bullet says so?
Not as a rule. On the Synxiter, the laloohome 125 mm, and the Heimerdinger LB202, UK reviewers in these files say their packs fitted. The samples on the cheaper rows are small. A different Heimerdinger model, LB183, has a UK review saying Makita batteries did not fit, and that model is not our ASIN.
Do the Fledukten batteries belong on a Makita drill?
No. The bullets say the included 21 V packs must not be used on other brands. They are in the Fledukten box with a 21 V charger. The same listing claims the grinder can use Makita 18 V packs. Your Makita pack might be the one the grinder wants, and the Fledukten pack stays off your drill.
Does the XAG25Z’s review count count as UK praise?
The stars, 4.5 from 395, are the listing line. The review bodies saved in the file are marked United States. They talk about fast X-LOCK changes and about discs that cost more. You can read them as US experience of that mount. You should not quote them as UK owners. The DGA454Z file is the one with United Kingdom review bodies.
