Bosch green or blue angle grinder

Updated: 22 October 2026

You have a Bosch 18 V pack in the cupboard, green or blue, and the grinder on amazon.co.uk looks as if it should click on. Both families are 18 V, and both say Bosch. The foot does not match. This page answers Bosch green or blue angle grinder for the nine listings saved on 21 October 2026, and it stops at the connector. Watts and prices stay on the [Bosch cordless angle grinder comparison](/hub/tools/bosch-cordless-angle-grinder). The other choices are the [Bosch cordless angle grinder buying guide](/hub/tools/bosch-cordless-angle-grinder/sub/bosch-cordless-angle-grinder-buying-guide). A bare blue body is still bare, on [Bosch angle grinder with battery or bare](/hub/tools/bosch-cordless-angle-grinder/sub/bosch-cordless-angle-grinder-bare-or-kit). The disc change comes after the family is right, on [how to use a Bosch cordless angle grinder](/hub/tools/bosch-cordless-angle-grinder/sub/bosch-cordless-angle-grinder-how-to-use). Peter F., DIY & tools editor, used Bosch’s UK AMPShare page, the POWER FOR ALL FAQ, and these listings. Packs were not mated on a bench. Two 18 V systems

Bosch Professional’s UK AMPShare page says AMPShare runs Professional 18 V tools and chargers back to 2008, including packs without the AMPShare logo, and that it does not run POWER FOR ALL. The POWER FOR ALL FAQ says the DIY 18 V system reaches back to 2007 and that the alliances were not merged, because the installed base would break. The shared number on the label is 18 V. The connector is a different decision, made on purpose. A green pack on a blue grinder is the wrong purchase even when the blue tool is cheaper or higher on stars. A blue pack on a green grinder fails the same way. Allied-brand AMPShare packs sit with the blue tools, not with the green garden tools. The FAQ’s exceptions, such as the PSM 18 LI, mean you should not treat every green pack since 2007 as a promise for every green tool. If you own neither pack, this page does not pick a family by price. The only kit in the set is green. Buy on the side you already charge.

What the nine listings actually say

Three amazon bullets name POWER FOR ALL. Both PWS 18V-70 listings do: order 06033E6000 at £62.00, and order 06033E6001 at £69.98 with 125 mm in the title. The UniversalGrind kit, order 06033E5070 at £155.15, names it as well, and it is the only row with a 4.0 Ah pack in the box. Those three are the green side on the evidence of the bullet. Two green bodies omit the alliance name on amazon. The bare UniversalGrind, order 06033E5000 at £78.49, says 18 Volt System in the title and prints 115 mm, 750 W, and 12,000 rpm. The AdvancedGrind, order 06033E5100 at £75.42, is Home and Garden, with a quick nut and a speed-selection bullet, and the title prints no diameter. UK reviews of the bare UniversalGrind talk about green packs. The AdvancedGrind file has only two UK reviews, and they do not settle the logo. A missing phrase on amazon is a thin listing, not a third battery system. The blue side is four listings. The GWS 18V-8, order 06019N9000, is £89.44. Order 06019N4100 is £135.95 and says 18V System in the title. Order 06019N4000 is £148.99 and does not print a voltage row, though UK reviews treat it as an 18 V tool. The GWX18V-11PS, order 06019N4400, is £199.98 and says 18V System. AMPShare is not in the blue bullets. One UK review of 06019N4100 names AmpShare. One UK review of the GWS says standard batteries do not fit.

Colour is not the only check

Read the order number, then the bullet, then the maker page when the bullet is silent. Bosch DIY UK names POWER FOR ALL for the bare UniversalGrind, order 06033E5000, even though the amazon bullets omit it. Bosch DIY UK also places the AdvancedGrind, order 06033E5100, on that green system. Use those pages. Do not use a photograph of green plastic if the order number is one of the blue four. A blue Professional pack without an AMPShare logo can still be the Professional system. Bosch says packs back to 2008 work with AMPShare tools. That does not make them POWER FOR ALL. If your older blue drill pack already runs your other blue tools, it is a candidate for the GWS and the other Professional bodies here, and it is not a candidate for the PWS. The green English manual recommends PBA 18V batteries of at least 4.0 Ah. That is a size inside the green family, not a bridge to blue.

What not to do

Do not buy an adapter from a review and call it a Bosch fit. This file does not contain a Bosch instruction for a POWER FOR ALL to Professional adapter, and this page will not invent one. A review that mentions an adapter on the GWX is about discs, not about battery feet. The disc interface and the battery foot are separate mistakes. Do not stack packs to “make 18 V”. Each of these tools is already an 18 V body. Two packs are not the fix for a wrong foot. Do not file a green foot to suit a blue slide. Once the body matches the packs you own, take the battery off, put the guard on, and use the nut the box contains. Green charges green. Blue charges blue. The word Bosch on both is not a shared battery.

Common questions

Do green and blue 18 V packs click into the same grinder?
No. Bosch Professional UK says AMPShare and POWER FOR ALL are not compatible. The POWER FOR ALL FAQ says the systems were kept separate on purpose. You can own both, in two chargers, and you still pick the grinder that matches one of them. A GWS 18V-8 will not run on the pack that runs a PWS 18V-70. The voltage on the label does not override the foot.
Does an older Professional pack without an AMPShare logo still fit?
Bosch’s AMPShare page says Professional 18 V packs and chargers back to 2008 work, including packs without the logo. That statement is for the blue system. It does not extend the same pack to a green grinder. If the pack already runs your other blue Bosch tools, it is the family for the GWS 18V-8 and the other Professional bodies in this set. It is not the family for a PWS.
Which listings name POWER FOR ALL on the amazon bullet?
Both PWS orders, 06033E6000 and 06033E6001, and the UniversalGrind kit, 06033E5070. The bare UniversalGrind and the AdvancedGrind do not name the alliance in the amazon bullets. Bosch DIY UK does, for 06033E5000 and 06033E5100. None of the four blue listings names POWER FOR ALL. One UK review names AmpShare on order 06019N4100. AMPShare is still absent from that listing’s bullets.
What does Bosch DIY say about the bare UniversalGrind?
The maker page for order 06033E5000 places that body on POWER FOR ALL. The amazon title says 18 Volt System, prints 115 mm, and does not print the alliance name. UK reviews in the file talk about green packs, which agrees with the maker page. The kit, order 06033E5070, does name POWER FOR ALL on amazon and adds a 4.0 Ah pack. Same family, different box.
Can I use an adapter between the families?
Not on the evidence used here. Bosch’s UK pages describe two systems that were not made to share a pack. This comparison does not recommend an adapter. A review about a disc adapter is not a battery adapter. If you own only green packs, stay on the PWS, the UniversalGrind, and the AdvancedGrind. If you own only blue packs, stay on the four Professional listings.
Will a green garden battery run a GWS?
No. The GWS 18V-8 is a Professional body. A green POWER FOR ALL pack is the other alliance. One UK review says the GWS does not take standard batteries. Bosch’s line is clearer: Professional 18 V, not POWER FOR ALL. The same refusal applies to orders 06019N4100, 06019N4000, and the GWX18V-11PS. Buying the GWS because it is £89.44 still leaves you shopping for a blue pack.
