Intex or Bestway pool cover

Updated: 21 October 2026

You already own one brand’s pool, yet the other brand’s cover can be cheaper or in stock today. The temptation is to treat 10 ft as interchangeable. In these amazon.co.uk files it is not. An Intex Easy Set ring, a Bestway Fast Set ring and a Bestway Steel Pro rail can share a diameter label and reject the same sheet. This page explains when an Intex or Bestway pool cover is a reasonable swap, when it fails, and one condition for crossing brands. Full scores sit on [Pool cover](/hub/swimming-pools/pool-cover). Prices are from the 19 October 2026 capture in GBP.

Same feet, different rim

Foot size describes the marketing circle, not the edge you tie to. An Intex Easy Set flexes at an inflatable ring. Bestway Fast Set is a similar ring. Steel Pro and Pro Max use a metal rail. Intex frame rectangles add straight sides and often need a flap. One buyer reports the Intex 28020 working on a Bestway Fast Set 8 ft. Another says it failed on an 8 ft steel-pole pool. A reviewer fitted the Intex 28021 on a Bestway Pro Max 10 ft, snug, with two people. Those are single reports, not a chart. Jackson’s Leisure warns that winter-style covers can slide off an inflatable ring. That is a caution about soft tops, not permission to put a steel-rail cover on a ring. The decision order is on the pool cover buying guide.

When the Intex cover is the reasonable buy

For an Intex Easy Set 8 ft or 10 ft, the 28020 at about £10.34 and the 28021 at about £12.99 are the covers Intex names, with rope ties and drain holes in the bullets. They stay the default even if a Bestway sheet is on promotion, unless you have a Fast Set 8 ft or Pro Max 10 ft review match like the ones above. Swim Centre rectangles stay on the Intex 58412 at about £9.95 for 56483NP or 56484NP. A Bestway steel cover will not fit that shape. Frame rectangles need centimetre checks on the 28039 or the 28038, not a Bestway circle. A same-diameter ring can work, snug, with two people and no guarantee. If it feels forced, stop. Fitting is on how to fit a pool cover.

When the Bestway cover is the reasonable buy

Bestway Flowclear 58036 at about £23.99 names 10 ft Steel Pro and Pro Max pools, with PVC, ropes and drain holes. Start there when the pool is on a steel rail, not an Easy Set ring with the same foot label. Bestway 58037 at about £22.91 targets 3.66 m Steel Pro, Pro Max and Fast Set on the included line. Treat the 3.05 m paragraph as noise unless you verify it. Do not buy it for a 10 ft steel pool because the shared 20,207 reviews look large. Those opening texts include 305 cm comments tied to the other ASIN. Bestway’s UK shop lists steel-frame covers by diameter, often below this amazon.co.uk price, but compare the model and postage. A shop page is not proof of an Intex fit.

One recommendation

If you cannot name a ring, a Fast Set, or a Steel Pro rail, do not cross brands to save money. Buy the cover whose bullets name your family, even if it costs a few pounds more. An Intex sheet on a Bestway ring is acceptable only with a reviewer-noted diameter, two people, and careful tension. A steel rail stays with Bestway’s steel-named covers, or an Intex sheet that names frame rails, not a Fast Set anecdote. If the centimetres still clash, use the picks on best pool cover. Neither brand prints grams per square metre here. Price is a weak reason to cross. A mismatched rim costs a torn sheet.

Common questions

Can I put an Intex cover on a Bestway pool?
Sometimes on an inflatable ring of the same diameter, with a snug-fit risk. Not on a steel rail just because the feet match. Read the bullets and the UK reviews before you assume the brands interchange.
Is a Fast Set the same shape as a Steel Pro?
No. Both may say 10 ft, but the top edge you tie to is different. Steel Pro covers name Steel Pro and Pro Max in Bestway’s listing. A Fast Set is closer to an inflatable ring.
Which cover if I have a 10 ft Bestway Pro Max?
Bestway 58036 for the steel family. An Intex 28021 worked for one UK reviewer on a Pro Max 10 ft, but that is anecdotal. The steel-named Bestway is the safer default.
Which cover if I have an 8 ft Intex Easy Set?
Intex 28020. Do not assume a Bestway 8 ft sheet matches without checking the rim type. The Easy Set cover is the one Intex names for that ring.
Why did an 8 ft cover fail on an 8 ft steel pool?
The steel rail is taller and straighter than an inflatable ring. The sheet sized for a ring may not reach, or it may tear when stretched. Foot size did not describe the edge.
Does Bestway’s 3.66 m cover also fit 10 ft?
Not as a rule. The listing includes a conflicting 3.05 m paragraph and shares reviews with the 10 ft ASIN. Buy 58036 for 10 ft steel. Buy 58037 only for 3.66 m, with your eyes open.
Should I buy the other brand to save money?
Only if the pool family still matches. Saving a few pounds on the wrong rim often costs a replacement after the first windy night.
