Sauna headrest comparison 2026

The best sauna headrests, compared.

Top pick: Benustra cedar headrest Best value: Tasofac oak disc headrest – About £12.76 for a stated 230 × 174 × 60 mm oak-disc base. There is no captured rating, so comfort and the oak claim are unverified. Updated October 2026.

Peter F.Editor

A sauna headrest supports your head and neck when you lie back on a hot-room bench. UK shops sell a wooden slat platform, a hard rotating oak disc, a mesh cushion, or a hollow plastic shape. Specialists also sell aspen, alder, abachi and cedar. Judge a rest by the named material, a footprint that sits flat, and whether it can dry after the session. It does not lengthen a short bench, and it is not a treatment for neck pain. This page compares ten amazon.co.uk listings captured on 15 October 2026, from about £12.76 to about £44.99. The top pick is the REEZEIVI 4D air-mesh cushion at about £30.94, rated 4.6 from 41. The written reviews in the file are not from the UK. The best value is the Tasofac four-disc oak rest at about £12.76, with no captured rating. Shape, timber and a bench check are set out in the [sauna headrest buying guide](/hub/steam-baths/sauna-headrest/sub/sauna-headrest-buying-guide). Stars and prices are listing figures. Nothing on this page was lab tested.

The best sauna headrests in detail

Benustra cedar headrest

Rank 1

Benustra cedar headrest

∼£23

Our view

The Benustra is a curved cedar slat rest weighing about 726 g and requiring no assembly according to the listing. Its technical dimensions are 37.85 × 30.99 × 6.86 cm, although two different inch measurements appear elsewhere on the page. Cedar and damp-cloth care are useful claims for a sauna accessory, but neither is supported by captured customer text. The 5.0 rating represents a single review, so it should not be read as stronger evidence than products with larger review bases. At £23.15 it is competitively priced for a broad slat rest if the technical centimetre line is correct. Ask the seller to confirm the footprint before buying, particularly for a narrow home cabin.

Pros

  • Cedar slat construction claimed
  • No assembly and damp-cloth care claimed
  • Competitive £23.15 captured price

Cons

  • Only one rating and no review text
  • Conflicting dimensions on the listing

Best for: A broad flat bench after the centimetre dimensions are confirmed.

Less suitable: Narrow benches or buyers relying on substantial review evidence.

Common questions

Which size should you trust?

The technical line says 37.85 × 30.99 × 6.86 cm and 725.75 g. The title and another bullet give two different inch sizes.

Where does the listing say it can be used?

The bullet names traditional dry saunas, infrared cabins, steam rooms, and glass saunas. There is no review text under the 5.0 from 1.

Does it need assembly?

The bullet says no assembly. Cleaning is a soft damp cloth.

REEZEIVI mesh sauna pillow

Rank 2

REEZEIVI mesh sauna pillow

∼£31

Our view

The REEZEIVI is a 35.56 × 20.32 × 10.16 cm mesh cushion for buyers who want some give rather than a hard wooden curve. At 281 g it is the lightest option in this set, and its 4.6 rating from 41 reviews is the broadest rating base here. The captured written reviews are from the United States and Mexico, however, so they are not direct evidence of UK customer experience. Those comments often mention quick drying and a hanging hook, but the UK listing bullet does not provide a washing method. One review also mentions a chemical smell, while another says debris can collect in the mesh. It is our top pick for cushioned support and the strongest overall evidence base, provided you air it before use and follow only the care instructions supplied with the UK product.

Pros

  • Largest captured rating base in the set
  • Lightweight, cushioned mesh construction
  • Clear stated dimensions

Cons

  • Captured written reviews are not from the UK
  • UK listing does not state a washing method

Best for: Someone who prefers a light, yielding cushion and will hang it to dry.

Less suitable: Buyers who want natural wood or UK-written review evidence.

Common questions

Is this a wooden headrest?

No. The listing is a brown 4D air-mesh neck cushion, model SNZ03, 35.56 × 20.32 × 10.16 cm and 281 g.

Where were the reviews written?

The rating is 4.6 from 41 on the UK listing. The review texts in the file are from the United States and Mexico, not the United Kingdom.

What do those reviews say about washing?

Several mention fast drying and a hang hook. One mentions a washing machine. The product bullet itself only describes mesh airflow.

Amocane pine sauna pillow

Rank 3

Amocane pine sauna pillow

∼£37

Our view

The Amocane is a broad pine slat pillow intended to support the neck without assembly. Its listing gives two incompatible sizes: 45.72 × 35.56 × 15.24 cm in the technical line and 40 × 34 × 8/12 cm in a bullet. That discrepancy matters because either version occupies much more bench space than a compact rotating disc. The 4.3 rating is based on seven reviews, but the captured comments are from the United States rather than the UK. One reviewer found it comfortable with a towel, while another disputed the pine claim and reported a broken top piece. At £36.99, it needs a dimension check and an easy return route before it is a sensible choice.

Pros

  • Curved slat shape offers broad head and neck support
  • No assembly claimed
  • Damp-cloth care is stated

Cons

  • Two listing size lines conflict
  • Captured review text is not from the UK

Best for: A wide, flat bench after the seller confirms the actual dimensions.

Less suitable: Small benches or buyers who require UK review evidence.

Common questions

Which size line should you use?

The technical line says 45.72 × 35.56 × 15.24 cm and 1.7 kg. The care bullet says L 40 × W 34 × H 8/12 cm. They do not describe the same box.

What do the reviews say about the wood?

Both review texts are from the United States. One says it is comfortable with a towel. One says it is not pine and the top piece broke.

Does the listing include other sauna tools?

The bullet names thermometers, buckets and handles as other products the brand sells. The contents line for this ASIN is the pillow.

YUEHISY oak rotating headrest

Rank 4

YUEHISY oak rotating headrest

∼£25

Our view

At 24.99 × 17.98 × 6.99 cm, this oak disc rest gives you a compact, hard support that can be adjusted by rotating its concave face. Two UK reviews make it one of the few products here with locally relevant comments, and both recognise the appeal of the oak construction. The same reviews also describe wobble when the sauna bench is not level, so the base needs a genuinely flat patch. Long hair can catch in the gaps, and one reviewer found the solid wood easy to knock while changing position. The £25.16 price is reasonable for this format, but the 4.0 rating comes from only five reviews. It is our stronger wooden option when you want a small rotating rest and accept firm rather than cushioned support.

Pros

  • Compact rotating disc with four concave faces
  • Oak construction rather than a synthetic cushion
  • Two UK reviews provide some relevant user evidence

Cons

  • Can wobble on an uneven or curved bench
  • Gaps may catch long hair

Best for: A flat sauna bench where you want compact, firm oak support.

Less suitable: Curved benches, loose long hair, or anyone expecting a soft pillow.

Common questions

How big is this YUEHISY headrest?

The technical line says 24.99 × 17.98 × 6.99 cm and 750 g. A bullet also says 6.69 × 9.06 inches. Those two size lines are not the same rectangle.

What do the UK reviews say about the bench?

Two UK reviews praise the rotating disc and the oak. One says it wobbles when the sauna bench is not level, and that long hair can catch in the gaps.

Does the listing say it needs assembly?

The use note says place it on a stable surface. No tool list is given.

Luxshiny rattan-style rest

Rank 5

Luxshiny rattan-style rest

∼£19

Our view

The Luxshiny is a 310 g hollow rest made from PE simulated rattan rather than timber. Its 29 × 16.5 × 8.5 cm footprint is compact, and the listing says it is ready to use. At £19.29 it sits below most wooden slat rests and the mesh cushion. The 4.0 score comes from only two ratings, with no captured review text to describe heat feel, grip or cleaning. A synthetic hollow shape may be easier to lift, but the file does not show how it behaves in a hot sauna or prolonged steam-room moisture. Choose it only if you deliberately want PE and can inspect it on arrival, not as a substitute for natural rattan or wood.

Pros

  • Light 310 g construction
  • Compact stated dimensions
  • Ready-to-use claim

Cons

  • Only two ratings and no review text
  • No captured cleaning or heat-performance evidence

Best for: A buyer deliberately seeking a light synthetic rest for a small bench.

Less suitable: Anyone expecting natural rattan, timber or proven high-heat performance.

Common questions

What is this rest made of?

The listing says PE with a simulated rattan, hollow shape. It is not a wooden headrest.

What do the two reviews say?

Funomocya bamboo-style pillow

Rank 6

Funomocya bamboo-style pillow

∼£14

Our view

The Funomocya is a shaped 35.2 × 19 × 8.5 cm neck rest sold as bamboo at £14.18. Its 650 g weight and compact width could suit a small bench, but the central material claim is disputed by UK reviewers. Several describe plastic, pink plastic ends or a wood-effect sticker rather than bamboo. The 2.9 rating from seven reviews also includes a broken arrival and difficulty finding a comfortable position. No cleaning method is captured, despite the product being presented for sauna or spa use. Skip it if you specifically want natural bamboo or wood; the low price does not compensate for the description mismatch.

Pros

  • Compact stated dimensions
  • Low captured price
  • Shaped neck-rest form

Cons

  • UK reviews dispute the bamboo claim
  • Low 2.9 rating with breakage and comfort complaints

Best for: Only a buyer who knowingly wants a low-cost synthetic rest.

Less suitable: Anyone seeking real bamboo, natural timber or reliable comfort.

What went wrong in the reviews?

Reviewers report a broken arrival, a hard-to-find comfortable spot, and material that is not bamboo. One UK review says only Super.

Tasofac oak disc headrest

Rank 7

Tasofac oak disc headrest

∼£13

Our view

At £12.76, this Tasofac is the least expensive captured wooden disc rest and states a compact 230 × 174 × 60 mm base. Four rotatable oak discs give you several contact points rather than one broad slat curve. The listing says it arrives pre-assembled and can be wiped clean, which keeps setup simple. There is no captured rating or review text, however, so comfort, stability and finish remain unverified. The oak description is also a listing claim rather than something supported by customer photographs or comments in the file. It is the best-value trial in this set if you want the disc format, but only with normal marketplace return protection.

Pros

  • Low £12.76 captured price
  • Compact stated footprint
  • Pre-assembled and wipe-clean claims

Cons

  • No captured customer rating or review text
  • Oak quality and stability are unverified

Best for: Trying a compact four-disc format at a low initial cost.

Less suitable: Anyone who wants proven comfort or independently confirmed materials.

Tasofac pine headrest, 2-pack

Rank 8

Tasofac pine headrest, 2-pack

∼£45

Our view

This £44.99 pack supplies two pine slat rests, each listed at 37 × 33 × 10 cm, so it is aimed at a two-bench or two-person setup. The double-curved slats should leave more open space than a solid block, and the listing says the rests arrive ready to use. However, there is no captured amazon.co.uk rating or review text to confirm comfort, finish or durability. Pine is also a material claim to consider carefully for a skin-contact sauna accessory, particularly if resin or rough finishing would bother you. The package weight is 1.9 kg, but an individual item weight and cleaning method are not given. Buy it for the pair format only after checking that the large footprint fits both bench positions.

Pros

  • Two headrests in one pack
  • Stated 37 × 33 × 10 cm dimensions
  • No assembly claimed

Cons

  • No captured rating or review text
  • No cleaning guidance or individual item weight

Best for: Two flat benches with enough space for the stated 37 cm length.

Less suitable: Buyers who need review-backed comfort or compact dimensions.

Sharainn oak rotating headrest

Rank 9

Sharainn oak rotating headrest

∼£35

Our view

This Sharainn rotating oak rest lists the same 24.99 × 17.98 × 6.99 cm dimensions and 750 g weight as the YUEHISY model. Its single disc has four concave faces, letting you alter the contact point without moving the whole base. The listing asks you to place it on a stable surface, which is important for this small format. At £34.53 it costs more than the similar YUEHISY, yet there is no captured rating or review text to explain the premium. A cleaning method is not stated, and even the listing's AC/DC power-source field is irrelevant and unreliable for an unpowered wooden rest. Consider it only if the reviewed alternative is unavailable and the seller confirms the return terms.

Pros

  • Compact stated footprint
  • Rotating four-face disc
  • Oak material claim

Cons

  • No captured rating or review text
  • Costs more than a similarly specified reviewed option

Best for: A flat bench when the comparable YUEHISY is unavailable.

Less suitable: Value-led buyers or anyone requiring customer evidence.

Common questions

How does this differ on the page from the other oak disc?

The centimetre line and 750 g match YUEHISY B0FYHZQYQH. This listing is Sharainn, £34.53, with no rating line.

A question asks if it is easy to clean. No method is given.

GUIJZSLTRG wooden headrest, 2-pack

Rank 10

GUIJZSLTRG wooden headrest, 2-pack

∼£30

Our view

This £29.79 listing offers two curved slat rests, which could be economical for a shared cabin. The pair weighs 1.76 kg and the care instruction is simply to wipe with a damp cloth. Crucially, no length, width or height is stated, so you cannot check whether either rest will sit securely on your bench. The timber is described only as natural wood, with no species named. There is also no captured rating or review text to test the ergonomic and durability claims. The two-pack price is attractive on paper, but the missing measurements make it a riskier buy than a single rest with a clear footprint.

Pros

  • Two rests for £29.79
  • Curved slat format
  • Simple damp-cloth care claim

Cons

  • No dimensions or named wood species
  • No captured rating or customer comments

Best for: A two-person setup only if the seller supplies exact dimensions first.

Less suitable: Narrow benches or buyers comparing timber species.

How we compared

Scores are editorial comparison scores from 0 to 100, not laboratory results. They combine the captured amazon.co.uk rating and review count (30%), evidence quality and review geography (20%), stated dimensions, material and care (20%), practical fit and usability (15%), and value at the captured GBP price (15%). A high star average from one or two ratings cannot by itself lead the comparison. Prices and ratings can change on amazon.co.uk.

Sauna headrest buying guide

Start with the shape, then the named material, then whether the base sits flat and can dry. A slat rest spreads the neck. A rotating disc is a hard block. A mesh cushion is the lighter option. A household memory-foam pillow is the wrong product. Prices in this amazon.co.uk set run from about £12.76 to about £44.99. The rest does not lengthen a short bench, and it is not a neck-pain treatment.

What is a sauna headrest?

A sauna headrest supports your head and neck when you lie back on a bench. It is a small accessory. It does not make a short bench longer, and it is not a treatment for neck pain. UK shops sell four shapes. A slat rest, often about 30–38 cm long and 7–10 cm high, spreads the neck on a flat bench. Specialists sell abachi, thermo alder and Tylö aspen or alder in that footprint, including an Oceanic rest at 335 × 348 × 85 mm and Tylö sizes of about 375 × 270 × 80 mm or 425 × 375 × 70 mm.

Best for

  • A flat bench, with a named sauna timber or a hard disc you have already accepted
  • Infrared or steam-room use only when the surface can dry outside the room

Not ideal for

  • A curved barrel stave, loose long hair on a rotating disc, or a household foam pillow
  • Anyone treating the rest as a neck-pain treatment or a way to lengthen a short bench

Mistakes to avoid

  1. 1

Buying an ergonomic claim and receiving a hard block

A rotating oak disc in this set is about 750 g, with a footprint near 23–25 × 17–18 cm. It is firm wood, not a cushion. Read the shape before you treat the word ergonomic as a pillow.

  2. 2

Ignoring two size lines that do not match

Use the centimetre line when an inch line disagrees. The Amocane listing gives 45.72 × 35.56 × 15.24 cm and also 40 × 34 × 8/12 cm. Those are not the same box. A two-pack with no dimensions cannot be checked against the bench at all.

  3. 3

Leaving wood wet, or reading US comments as UK experience

Do not varnish the rest, and do not leave it wet overnight. The largest written review set here, 41 ratings on the mesh cushion, was not written in the UK. The star count is the UK listing’s count. The sentences are not automatically UK experience.

What to weigh up

Shape and material

High

A slat rest about 30–38 cm long spreads the neck on a flat bench. Curved rails in specialist ranges are often 7–10 cm high. A rotating disc in this set is about 23–25 × 17–18 cm and is a hard block, typically about 750 g, with one disc or four smaller discs. A mesh cushion is the lighter, more yielding option. A hollow polyethylene shape is a synthetic rest, not timber. A household memory-foam pillow is the wrong product for a hot room.

Bench, drying and price

High

You need a flat patch as wide as the base. Barrel staves can make a small disc rock. A UK review of the YUEHISY oak disc says it sits on a flat floor and wobbles on a sauna bench. Tie long hair up before a rotating disc: a UK review describes hair caught in the gaps, and a knock on solid oak. A two-pack helps only after you check each size. One pair here states 37 × 33 × 10 cm. Another states no dimensions. Finnish rooms are commonly about 80–100°C at head height.

Which option suits you?

Three typical situations, each with a recommendation from this comparison.

A flat home-cabin bench

You lie down and want a named timber, and you will accept a hard disc only if the bench is flat. The YUEHISY oak disc is about £25.16, 24.99 × 17.98 × 6.99 cm and 750 g, with 4.0 from 5 and two UK reviews. Those reviews praise the oak and also describe wobble when the bench is not level.

Two benches

A two-pack only helps if each piece has a size you can check. The Tasofac pine pair is about £44.99, with a bullet size of 37 × 33 × 10 cm and no captured rating. Confirm that 37 cm fits both bench positions before you trust the pair.

Infrared or a wet room

You need a surface that can dry, not a household bed pillow. The REEZEIVI mesh cushion is about £30.94, 281 g, with 4.6 from 41. The written reviews are not from the UK, and the UK bullet does not state a washing method. Air it, and dry it outside a steam room.

Common questions about sauna headrests

Which sauna headrest is the top pick in 2026?
The top pick is the REEZEIVI 4D air-mesh cushion at about £30.94. It measures 35.56 × 20.32 × 10.16 cm and weighs 281 g, with 4.6 from 41 amazon.co.uk ratings, the largest sample in this set. The written reviews in the file are from the United States and Mexico, not the UK, and the UK bullet does not state a washing method. It is a cushion, not a wooden slat. The score is editorial, not a lab test.
How much does a sauna headrest cost on amazon.co.uk?
The ten listings here run from about £12.76 to about £44.99. About £13–£20 covers the Tasofac oak discs, the disputed bamboo-style pillow and the PE rest. About £23–£35 covers the cedar slat, the YUEHISY oak disc, the unnamed-wood pair, the mesh cushion and the Sharainn disc. About £37–£45 covers the Amocane pine rest and the Tasofac pine pair. Specialist aspen and thermo-aspen outside this set run from about £18 to about £71. These are captured shelf prices.
What should you check before you buy a sauna headrest?
Check the shape. A slat about 30–38 cm long spreads the neck on a flat bench. A rotating disc here is about 23–25 × 17–18 cm and is a hard block. Mesh is lighter. Contact timber is abachi, aspen, alder or a named cedar. Pine can bleed resin, and oak is harder than bench wood. The base needs a flat patch as wide as the rest. Is a wooden sauna headrest better than a mesh cushion?
A wooden slat or disc is the usual sauna-timber choice when the species is named and the footprint sits flat. Mesh is the lighter cushion in this set, and it still has to dry after the session. The REEZEIVI mesh has the largest rating count here, but those written reviews are not British. A household memory-foam pillow is the wrong product for a hot room. Neither shape lengthens a short bench, and neither is a neck-pain treatment.
Can you use a sauna headrest in a steam room or an infrared cabin?
A steam room stays wet, so the rest has to dry outside the room. A Finnish sauna is commonly about 80–100°C at head height. An infrared cabin is cooler in the air and still hard under the head. Do not varnish the wood, and keep the rest off the stove and clear of a steam outlet. See the infrared cabin comparison for the room. None of these rests was tested in a wet room.
What if the listing says bamboo, pine or oak?
The named material has to be what you receive. UK reviews of the Funomocya rest, sold as bamboo at about £14.18, describe plastic and a wood-effect sticker. Its rating is 2.9 from 7. The Consumer Rights Act 2015, section 11, says goods must match the description. Pine can bleed resin. Oak on the discs is a listing claim, and only the YUEHISY has UK review text. An AC/DC field on two oak listings is a template line, not a cable.
Will a sauna headrest ease neck pain?
No. A headrest supports your head and neck on the bench. It does not lengthen a short bench, and it is not a neck-pain treatment. A hard oak disc here is a block of about 750 g. A UK review describes hair caught in the gaps, and a knock if you drop your head onto solid oak. Tie long hair up before a rotating disc. A clinician’s limit on extreme heat is their advice, not a feature of the rest.
When should you ask the cabin maker?
Ask before you screw a rest into a bench still under warranty, if the bench is loose or charred, or if a new rest smells strongly once the room is hot. The General Product Safety Regulations 2005 require a product in Great Britain to be safe in foreseeable use. Northern Ireland follows Regulation (EU) 2023/988 from 13 December 2024. No British Standard here certifies a headrest as a class. Do not leave wood wet overnight.

Our verdict

The top pick is the REEZEIVI 4D air-mesh cushion at about £30.94. It has the highest editorial score and the largest rating sample here, 4.6 from 41, with clear dimensions and a light 281 g cushion. The written reviews in the file are not from the UK, and the UK listing does not state a washing method. The best value is the Tasofac four-disc oak rest at about £12.76: a compact stated base, a pre-assembled claim and a wipe-clean claim, with no captured rating, so oak quality and stability are unverified. A slat in a named cedar, or a disc with UK comments, is the wooden alternative once you have checked that the base sits flat.
