Best wall mounted extension lead: who should skip each

Updated: October 2026

You searched for the best wall mounted extension lead and the first amazon.co.uk rows are other brands. This page does not adopt those rows. It sorts the nine listings in our [wall mounted extension lead comparison](/hub/sockets-and-extension-leads/wall-mounted-extension-lead), using shelf prices, star lines, and the clashes printed on each page. The Products Compared editorial team wrote this on 16 October 2026 from those extracts and from Electrical Safety First's 13 A guidance. Nothing was lab-tested. There is no single winner. No single best in this set

There is no single best because we did not measure joules, cable length, or how a UK plug seats. Five listings sit at 4.6, including a USB strip whose sampled reviews say the ports failed. Live results such as a Masterplug, a PARTH 6-way, and a DESIRETECH 4-gang are outside this set. The checks without a product name are on the buying guide. Every bar below is still one 13 A plug.

Skip these if you want a plain switched bar

Skip the PIBEEX 2-way, B09G2QH53B, at £13.99, if you need more than two sockets or USB the bullets describe. It is the best value: 4.6 from 1,777 ratings, and the only bullet that says BS1363/A. One review measured the stated 3 m at about 1.5 m. Skip the DEWENWILS 6-way, B091DRYXDQ, at £16.99, if you need one surge figure. It is the top pick: 4.6 from 2,224 ratings. The bullet says 270 joules and the attribute says 13 Amps. A bullet says four switches; reviews describe one per socket. Skip the toomke 6-way, B0D47CW9KC, at £17.84, if you need a star summary. The file has review texts and no Customer Reviews line. It does state keyholes, a 3 m cable, and a switch per socket.

Skip these if the USB or the finish is the point

Skip the ROOTOMA 4-way, B0FDPYFV6K, at £11.89, if the USB ports must keep working. Several reviews say USB-C ports failed or ran hot, and one says the strip blew up beside a bed. Surge is claimed with no joules. Skip the ANVODE 4-way, B0FC24NY8J, at £18.99, if you need joules. It has 4.6 from only 69 ratings. Separate reviews report a dead unit and two dead sockets. Skip the BOCHLION 5-way, B0G5GTMYCG, at £25.99, if the cable must be 3 m. The title, a bullet, and the reviews disagree. Surge is in the title and joules are not. Skip the TOPREK 3-way if you need timber. It is wood-effect plastic with 1,800 J. Skip the 6-way, at £22.99, if plugs are chunky. It prints at least 2,100 J, and large plugs block the neighbour.

Skip the metal rack strip unless you need brackets

Skip the Alpheus 7-way, B0GTPY8GLM, at £28.99, unless you want metal brackets. It has 4.5 from 16 ratings and 180° brackets, and the cable length is not stated. Surge is claimed with no joules. Seven sockets are still one plug. How the brackets go on the wall is on the how to wall mount an extension lead page.

Common questions

Which listing should you skip if you only need two sockets on a long cable?
Start with the PIBEEX, and skip it if a reviewer's 1.5 m measurement worries you more than the stated 3 m. It is the only 2-way, at £13.99. The DEWENWILS and toomke also state 3 m, and both are 6-way bars. The ROOTOMA is only 1.5 m. The Alpheus does not state a length at all.
Which should you skip if USB ports must keep working?
Skip the ROOTOMA first. Several sampled reviews say the USB-C ports failed or ran hot, despite 4.6 from 165 ratings. Skip the PIBEEX if you need USB the bullets describe, because USB is only an attribute. On the BOCHLION, 30 W is one PD port. Shared totals of 5 V at 3.1 A or 3.4 A are not a promise that every port runs flat out together.
Which should you skip if you need a printed joule number?
Skip the PIBEEX, toomke, ANVODE, ROOTOMA, BOCHLION, and Alpheus. None of them prints joules. The DEWENWILS bullet prints 270 J and the attribute says 13 Amps, so skip it if you need a single figure. The TOPREK 3-way prints 1,800 J and the 6-way prints at least 2,100 J. Joules do not raise the 13 A limit.
Which should you skip if the cable has to be a reliable 3 m?
Skip the BOCHLION, because the title, a bullet, and the reviews disagree. Skip the Alpheus, because the length is not stated. Skip the ROOTOMA at 1.5 m and the 2 m bars if 3 m is the requirement. The DEWENWILS and toomke state 3 m. The PIBEEX states 3 m and has one review at about 1.5 m.
Is the wood-effect TOPREK a timber housing?
No. Both TOPREK listings call it a wooden-effect finish, and the enclosure is plastic. The 3-way prints 1,800 J and the 6-way prints at least 2,100 J, on a 2 m cable. You are buying a finish reviewers match to furniture, not a wooden case that changes the 13 A rating.
Is the Alpheus a workshop board with unlimited sockets?
No. It is a 7-way metal bar at £28.99 with rack or wall brackets, and it is still 13 A. The cable length is not on the listing. There is no IP rating. Sixteen ratings is a small sample. Use it when the brackets are the point, and skip it when you need a stated lead length or a printed joule figure.
