Best flap discs

Updated: 21 October 2026

Best on a flap disc is a job, a guard size and a listing that does not contradict itself. You might be knocking a weld cap off mild steel, trying four grits once, or stocking 80 grit for a finer pass. This page names who each pack in the set is for, and who should leave it. The Products Compared editorial team read the twelve amazon.co.uk listings captured on 19 October 2026, plus the review notes stored with them. We did not run a wear test. The full table is the [flap disc comparison](/hub/sanders/flap-discs). Prices are those shelf prices. If you buy through our links, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

Sort the job before you sort the stars

A 5.0 from four reviews is not the same evidence as a 4.6 from a hundred. Two rows have no star line. Notes praise weld cleanup, rust and DIY value, and they also say life changes with pressure and material. Bent flaps or a wobble belong to that ASIN. Filter on guard size, then Type 27 at about 0–15° or Type 29 at about 15–25° if the listing says so, then one grit versus a mix, then rpm. A line of 13.3 rpm is a typing error. Price comes last. The checks are on the flap disc buying guide.

Coarse Type 29 packs for weld and rust

Okeno Select at £9.99 is the best value for a coarse conical disc on a 115 mm guard. The title says 10 discs, 40 grit, T29, zirconia alumina and 13,300 rpm. amazon.co.uk shows 5.0 from 15 reviews. The profile cell repeats the title. The stainless line is a claim, not a contamination test. Merryland at £19.90 is a 40 grit T29 zirconia title at 13,300 rpm, with 4.6 from 221 reviews and comments about vibration. The pack-count field says 1, so count the carton. Awutzut at £14.99 is 10 discs, 60 grit aluminium oxide, 13,300 rpm, 4.6 from 59 reviews. The title says T29 and the profile cell says P60.

Mixed boxes, a flat 40 grit, and a bulk 80

PRETEC at £11.99 is the top pick on listing agreement. It is 12 discs, 115 mm, Type 27 zirconia, 40 grit and 13,300 rpm, and those fields match the title. amazon.co.uk shows 4.6 from 112 reviews. Use it at about 0–15°. The capture’s ASIN field was B0CSSVHYFL against URL B0CSSX6VDD. Shapes are on the type 27 vs type 29 flap disc page. MIDO at £19.99 is 20 Type 27 discs in 40, 60, 80 and 120, with 4.6 from 1,230 reviews and a speed cell of 13.3 rpm. Do not mount it until the label shows a real rpm. Anesty at £16.90 has a mixed title, 4.5 from 86 reviews, a pack field of 1 and a grit field of 120. Nisorpa at £32.99 is 50 discs, 80 grit, 13,700 rpm, 4.4 from 68 reviews, about £0.66 a disc. The profile cell says Backing Pad.

What to skip, or buy only with a condition

Gmozkrn at £12.99 is the only 125 mm pack: Type 29 in the title, a pack field of 1, no rpm, and 5.0 from 4 reviews. It does not belong on a 115 mm guard. EZARC at £21.97 is 12 Type 27 jumbo zirconia discs in 40 grit, 4.5 from 97 reviews, about £1.83 a disc. Jumbo is not a measured life. ZJNGVF at £22.09 is ceramic, with a blank profile. SDLONLIGR at £19.22 and Total Abrasives at £21.99 have no star line, and the Total Abrasives contents line says cutting grit discs. If you wanted a 6 mm wheel, read flap disc vs grinding disc first.

Common questions

Which pack is the cheapest coarse option that still prints 13,300 rpm?
Okeno Select at £9.99: ten 115 mm discs, 40 grit, T29 in the title, zirconia alumina and 13,300 rpm. That is the lowest shelf price here for that combination. amazon.co.uk shows 5.0 from 15 reviews on 19 October 2026, a trial rather than a durability ranking. Confirm the shape on the label, because the profile cell only repeats the title.
Which mixed pack has the most reviews?
MIDO at £19.99 has 4.6 from 1,230 reviews, the largest count here, on a 20-pack of Type 27 aluminium oxide in 40, 60, 80 and 120 grit. The spec line prints 13.3 rpm, a listing error, so the stars do not make the speed usable. Anesty’s mixed title has fewer reviews and a pack field of 1. A mixed box is several finishes, not one grade.
Is the 50-pack worth it?
Nisorpa at £32.99 is 50 discs of 115 mm, 80 grit aluminium oxide, marked 13,700 rpm, at about £0.66 a disc, with 4.4 from 68 reviews. It is worth it when you already want a stock of 80 grit. It is a poor buy for a 40 grit Type 29 weld cap, and the profile cell says Backing Pad.
Can I buy the 125 mm pack for a 115 mm grinder?
No. Gmozkrn is 125 mm. A 22.23 mm bore does not make the guard right. The title says a 9-pack of Type 29 in 60, 80 and 120 grit at £12.99. The fields say one disc and grit 120, and no maximum rpm is printed. amazon.co.uk shows 5.0 from four reviews. Fit it only on a 125 mm guard after the label shows a speed. Do not remove a 115 mm guard to make it fit.
Which listings had no star line in the capture?
SDLONLIGR at £19.22 and Total Abrasives at £21.99 had no star rating on 19 October 2026. Stored comments are not a UK-only panel. SDLONLIGR’s title is a 20-pack of 115 mm 40 grit mesh-base discs at 13,000 rpm, with no flap profile. Total Abrasives is a double-flap title at 13,300 rpm, with no grit and a contents line that says cutting grit discs. A blank star row is a reason to wait.
How does the ceramic pack compare with the zirconia ones?
ZJNGVF at £22.09 is the ceramic 20-pack, grit field 40 coarse, 13,300 rpm, 4.5 from 52 reviews that mention rust, welds, vibration and bent flaps. PRETEC at £11.99 and EZARC at £21.97 are the zirconia Type 27 rows. Okeno at £9.99 is zirconia alumina with T29 in the title. We did not time ceramic against zirconia. The ceramic carton also says mixed discs, so confirm one grit before you pay about £1.10 a disc.
