The DCS572N amazon file has no guide rail in the bullets. Several United Kingdom reviews still say the shoe locates on a DeWalt rail. That lines up with the feature line, if you read that line rather than the introduction. The 1 m rail, DWS5021, omits the DCS572 from the overview. The feature line names the DCS520, DWS520, DCS572, DCS576, DCS579, and DWE576, at 1,000 mm. The 1.5 m rail, DWS5022, splits the same way. Trust the feature line, and still sit the saw on the rail before a full sheet. The price does not include the rail or a battery. A freehand cut stays on the how to cut page.

Depth on the rail is not the depth in freehand

DeWalt’s DCS572 page says 58 mm, and 54 mm on a guide rail, with a bevel to 57°. That page is the NT code, which includes a TSTAK. Reviews of this N-code listing say no case arrived. The amazon angle field says 45°, and the file has no depth. Quote 54 mm as DeWalt’s rail figure and 45° as the listing’s angle. DeWalt also claims up to 20 linear metres of 50 mm softwood on one 5.0 Ah pack. That is the manufacturer’s claim, not a test of this ASIN. Without the rail, that 54 mm figure is still a freehand cut. What owners measured at the ends of the track is the practical limit after that.

What owners actually reported

One review names the DWS5021 and a DWS5026. DWS5026 is not on the feature line retrieved here, so this page will not call it an official match. The same reviews include about 24 cm of lead-in and 12 cm of lead-out. That is one owner’s tape, about 36 cm of rail beyond the cut, not a DeWalt specification. On a 1,000 mm rail, a long sheet can run out of track sooner than the model name suggests. A rail keeps the shoe straight. It does not turn this body into a plunge saw. HSE still expects extraction to an M-class or H-class unit. One saw stopped after two days with a clunk and a burning smell. A rail does not make that single failure impossible.

The other two saws

The feature line on the DWS5021 and the DWS5022 names the DCS572. It does not name the DCS565 or the DCS512. One DCS565 review says a guide is possible. That is not the compatibility line. If your saw is the 165 mm body or the 12 V body, this track is the wrong plan unless DeWalt adds the model. The buying guide is where you choose the body before you price a rail. If you will never buy the rail, the best-of page tells you to skip this body and look at the 165 mm listing, which states 55 mm and does not ask you to own a track.

Does the DCS572 fit a DeWalt guide rail?
DeWalt’s feature line on the DWS5021 (1 m) and the DWS5022 (1.5 m) names the DCS572. The overview on those pages does not. The amazon bullets do not say rail either. United Kingdom reviews say the shoe locates on a DeWalt rail. Try the saw on the rail before a full sheet.
Why do the rail pages seem to disagree with themselves?
The overview is a plunge-saw list and omits the DCS572. The feature line on the same page includes it. Use the feature line as the model list, and treat the overview as incomplete. Check the fit on the rail you buy.
Will the DCS565 or the DCS512 run on the same rail?
The feature lines for the DWS5021 and the DWS5022 do not name them. One DCS565 review says a guide is possible, which is not DeWalt listing the model. If you own the 165 mm saw or the 12 V saw, do not buy these rails as the stated match. That match is the DCS572.
How deep is the cut once the saw is on the rail?
DeWalt’s DCS572 page says 58 mm, and 54 mm on a guide rail. The amazon listing states no depth, and its angle field says 45°. The 54 mm figure is the manufacturer’s rail depth, on the NT code, which is not the case contents of this N listing.
Does the £211.99 listing include the rail or a case?
No. The title says bare unit. Reviews say no case arrived. The rail is a separate product. DeWalt’s NT listing includes a TSTAK, and that code is not this ASIN. Budget for a battery as well. One reviewer’s £30 gap against Screwfix is their comparison, not a second price here.
