DeWalt cordless circular saw buying guide

Updated: October 2026

You already have a DeWalt charger on the wall, and a bare-unit price that looks finished. A DeWalt cordless circular saw buying guide has to separate that price from the pack you own, the depth you can quote, and the box the listing actually describes. On amazon.co.uk this set is three bare bodies, and none of those prices includes a battery or a charger. The [DeWalt cordless circular saw comparison](/hub/power-saws/dewalt-cordless-circular-saw) is the table. This page is the order of decisions. Products Compared checked the listings on 16 October 2026 and did not run a lab test. A qualifying purchase can earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

Start with the batteries on your shelf

The first cut is between packs. The DCS512N voltage field says 12 volts. DeWalt’s page says 12 V XR batteries, and United Kingdom reviews say 18 V packs do not fit. One owner adds that older 10.8 V packs, once moved onto the 12 V system, still fitted. The DCS565 states 18 V in the item-type name, and the DCS572 has an 18 V row. DeWalt’s FlexVolt page says those packs also run 18 V XR tools. One DCS572 review says the saw ran on both. A DCS512 bullet says FlexVolt batteries only, which fights the 12 V field, and the batteries line says 1 AAAA. “20 V MAX” is the US label beside 18 V. If the only doubt is the pack, use the 12 V or 18 V split.

Then quote a depth you can point at

Only the DCS565 amazon file states a depth: 55 mm, a 165 mm blade, and a 50° bevel. DeWalt’s page agrees on 55 mm at 90° and a bevel to 50°, and adds 4,950 rpm, which the amazon speed field does not state. A deeper piece than 55 mm, in one pass, is outside this body. The DCS572 file has no depth, and the angle row says 45°. DeWalt’s NT page says 58 mm, or 54 mm on a rail, and a bevel to 57°. Name DeWalt when you use those figures. The listing shows 5,500 rpm beside 3.6 kg and a bullet that says 5.15 kg. The DCS512 blade-length field says 12 inches. DeWalt’s page says a 140 mm blade and up to 47 mm. One owner reports 4x2 and 18 mm plywood, inside a 14-review file averaging 3.1.

Then read the box, not the title alone

All three titles say bare unit. The DCS565 also names a TSAK kitbox. One review says the box takes the saw with a battery fitted, plus a spare. The included-components line only says 1X, so the case is a title claim. If that case does not arrive, GOV.UK’s returns guidance covers goods that are not as described. DeWalt’s includes lists name a 24-tooth TCT blade. The amazon blade-material field says high speed steel. On the DCS572, reviews say no case arrived, and an older corded case does not fit. The TSTAK on DeWalt’s NT page is not this N-code body at £211.99. The DCS512 included line names the bare unit. A two-battery kit is a different SKU. A rail is a later cost on the guide rail page.

What this guide will not decide

This sequence will not name the best DeWalt cordless circular saw in Britain. The best of these three page attaches each listing to a job. DeWalt UK also sells a DCS573 and a 54 V DCS578, and those bodies are not priced here. Rail pages name the DCS572 and not the other two. Stars are not a dust or safety test. Once you know the pack and the depth, the main table is where the fields sit side by side.

Common questions

Does the price include a battery?
No. The three amazon.co.uk prices are £176.89, £211.99, and £139.95, and every title says bare unit. The DCS565 item-type name says without charger or battery. A two-battery kit is a different SKU, so the shelf figure is the body only.
Which saw is 12 V and which are 18 V?
The DCS512N field says 12 volts. The DCS565 item-type name says 18 V, and the DCS572 has an 18 V row. United Kingdom reviews say 18 V packs do not fit that smaller body. Match the body to the packs on your shelf before you compare blade diameters.
Will a FlexVolt pack run the DCS512?
DeWalt’s FlexVolt page says those packs run 18 V XR tools and 54 V tools, not 12 V tools. A DCS512 bullet says FlexVolt batteries only, and no review confirms it. Reviews say 18 V packs do not fit. Keep FlexVolt packs on the 18 V bodies.
Where is the depth actually stated?
Only the DCS565 amazon file states a depth: 55 mm, with a 50° bevel. DeWalt’s DCS572 page says 58 mm, or 54 mm on a rail, and that depth is not on the amazon file. The DCS512 listing has no depth. Quote the page you are looking at.
Is the TSAK box in the DCS565 included-components line?
The title says a TSAK kitbox. The included-components line only says 1X. One review describes room for the saw with a battery fitted and a spare pack. If the case in the title does not arrive, GOV.UK returns guidance covers goods that are not as described.
Why does the DCS572 listing say 45° and 5.15 kg?
The cutting-angle field says 45°. DeWalt’s page says a bevel to 57°. Item weight is 3.6 kg, and a bullet says 5.15 kg. Speed is listed as 5,500 rpm and the wattage row as 3600. Those pairs stay as clashes.
