Top pick: Aumtrly 2-head clip – Highest score in this comparison, 9.1 out of 10, from 67 amazon.co.uk reviews. Best value: Ainiv 48-LED stick – About £8.99, the lowest price at 4.2 or above with at least 500 reviews, and 50 of 50 scraped texts from the United Kingdom. Updated October 2026.
A plant lamp is an indoor LED grow light on amazon.co.uk. It supplements short British daylight for a houseplant, a seedling tray, or a tall plant in a dark corner. You tell the useful ones apart by the mount, by the timer hours, and by whether the wattage line agrees with the voltage. A clip needs a shelf or a sill. A floor lamp, or a pole that extends to 165 cm, needs floor space. Timer steps in the set are 3, 4, 6, 8, 9, 12, 16, or 18 hours. Where daylight is short, the Royal Horticultural Society home example is about 16 hours, then a dark period. Mount, timer, and the volt line are set out in the [plant lamps buying guide](/hub/plant-accessories/plant-lamps/sub/plant-lamps-buying-guide).
It is not a heater, and it is not a waterproof greenhouse fitting. Do not leave a lamp on for 24 hours.

The Aumtrly ZY-L20C is a two-head clip lamp at about £18.99, with 114 LEDs, a 6, 12 or 16 hour timer, three modes, and five dimming levels. The spectrum line names 660 nm, 460 nm, 3000 K, and 5000 K. The box line includes the clip light, an adapter, and a manual. amazon.co.uk shows 4.7 from 67 reviews, and all 50 texts in this capture are from the United Kingdom. Reviewers start chilli and tomato seedlings and say stems were not leggy. One review says the timer sometimes stays on. The clip is called fierce. The specification says 5 V and also 40 W, which is not a credible draw for a 5 V supply. Weight is 590 g.
Pros
4.7 from 67 reviews, 50 of 50 scraped texts from the United Kingdom
Timer includes 16 hours
Adapter is named in the included-components line
UK reviews cover seedlings, chillies, and cherry tomatoes
Cons
40 W at 5 V is not a credible input power
Timer sometimes stays on, in one UK review
Clip described as hard to open
E27 appears on a clip lamp
Best for: Seed trays and a few pots on a shelf when you want a 16-hour step and a fully UK review file
Less suitable: Anyone buying on the 40 W figure, or a plant with no edge to clamp to
Yes. The bullets list 6, 12, and 16 hour options. One UK review says the timer sometimes stays on anyway.
Is the adapter in the box?
The included-components line names one grow light with clip, one adapter, and one user manual.
Why is 40 W hard to trust?
The same specification says 5 volts. A 40 watt draw at 5 volts would be 8 amps, which is not what a typical USB adapter supplies. Keep both numbers as printed.
The fayleer F1-ZWD is a clip lamp at about £9.99. The bullets claim an optical lens, 4000 K light for herbs, leafy greens, seedlings, and microgreens, a 6, 12 or 18 hour timer, and a supply stronger than a standard 5 V at 1 A. The clamp is said to fit surfaces up to 5 cm. Weight is 350 g, the material is plastic, and the efficiency field says D. amazon.co.uk shows 4.7 from 65 reviews, and this capture has no review text, so the country of those reviews is unknown. Wattage, dimensions, and diode count are not printed. It is not waterproof. A 4.7 with no texts is not a UK sample and is not a reason to prefer it over the Ainiv, which has 574 reviews you can read.
Pros
Timer includes 6, 12, and 18 hours
4000 K is stated
Clamp thickness is stated as up to 5 cm
About £9.99
Cons
No review text, so 4.7 from 65 cannot be checked as UK opinion
No wattage field
Efficiency field says D while the bullets stress saving energy
Not waterproof, and dimming is not listed
Best for: A single herb pot if an 18-hour timer matters and you can accept a star line with no text in this capture
Less suitable: Anyone who wants to read UK reviews before buying, or a multi-plant shelf
The Sonamindary S-GL01-1H-60-5V is a one-head clip at about £16.99. The bullets state 60 LEDs, five brightness levels, and a 4, 8, 12 or 18 hour timer, plus a CRI of at least 85. The specification says 5 V, 2 A, and 10 W, which match, and 5700 K. Weight is 290 g and the size is 35.5 x 11.6 x 6.5 cm. amazon.co.uk shows 4.6 from 314 reviews. Of 45 scraped texts, 42 are from the United States and three are from the United Kingdom. Two of those UK texts say the lamp did not turn on, or worked for about three hours. The third says it suited a small aquarium. A 12-month quality line is a bullet, not a test. The plug type is not named.
Pros
5 V, 2 A, and 10 W agree
Timer includes an 18-hour step
Five brightness levels and a clamp are on the listing
CRI of at least 85 is claimed
Cons
Only 3 of 45 scraped texts are from the United Kingdom
Two of those three describe a lamp that failed immediately or within three hours
4.6 from 314 is not a UK sample
Plug type is not named
Best for: A single pot if you accept that the star line is mostly not British and you can return a dead unit
Less suitable: Anyone treating 314 reviews as UK experience, or a group of plants that needs more than one head
The OHFAMO YGP-4TZWD-huangse is a four-arm clip at about £19.99. The bullets offer red, blue, and red-plus-blue modes, ten dim steps from 10 to 100 percent, a 4, 8 or 12 hour timer, and an RF remote. The title says Energy Class A. The specification says 40 W, plastic, 500 g, and 17.7 x 8.5 x 16 cm, and it says the lamp is not waterproof. A specific-uses line lists sleep aid, night light, and reading, which does not match the plant bullets. amazon.co.uk shows 4.6 from 29 reviews, all 26 texts in this capture from the United Kingdom. Reviewers praise the clamp and the four arms for separate pots, and one says it lacks intensity for demanding plants. A UK review notes it is a clip, not a floor lamp. Voltage is not printed.
Pros
Four arms on one clamp, which UK reviews use on several plants
4.6 from 29 reviews, all 26 scraped texts from the United Kingdom
Remote, ten dim levels, and a timer are on the listing
Clamp described as staying put
Cons
Timer stops at 12 hours
40 W has no voltage beside it
Energy Class A is a title claim, not a measurement
The specific-uses field reads like a bedroom lamp
Best for: Several small pots along a shelf edge, with a remote, when a red and blue mix is acceptable
Less suitable: A freestanding floor plant, a 16-hour timer, or a buyer who needs a white full-spectrum living-room lamp
The Garpsen BL-B20A-UK is a floor grow lamp at about £32.99, with 80 LEDs, a listed 30 W, a 6, 12 or 16 hour timer, and both touch and remote control. amazon.co.uk shows 4.4 from 1,120 reviews, and all 50 texts in this capture are from the United Kingdom. The shade height is listed as 67 inches and the weight as 1.39 kg. UK reviewers praise easy assembly, a stable base, and modes that are not harshly bright, including use on an orchid in a lounge. One UK review says the plug broke on first use. Voltage is not printed, and the listing says it is not waterproof. In this set it is the top pick because it has the largest review count at 4.4 or above.
Pros
4.4 from 1,120 reviews, 50 of 50 scraped texts from the United Kingdom
Timer includes 16 hours
Floor stand, remote, five dimming levels, and three modes
UK reviews describe a stable base and simple assembly
Cons
Voltage is not printed
One UK review says the plug broke on first use
Not waterproof
A floor base is no use on a windowsill edge
Best for: A plant on the floor, or one you want to light from above a stand, when you want a 16-hour timer and a large UK review file
Less suitable: A seed tray on a narrow sill, or anyone who needs a printed voltage and a clip instead of a base
Yes. The specification says floor mount and floor lamp, with a metal and plastic build at 1.39 kg. UK reviews describe a stable base and height adjustment.
Can the timer run for 16 hours?
The bullets list 6, 12, and 16 hour settings. One UK review says it keeps time. That is one report, not a lab check.
Is it waterproof?
The listing says it is not waterproof. Keep it off a wet bench.
The Wolezek BL-C30C is about £19.53, with a clip and goosenecks, chips stated as 660 nm, 3000 K, and 6000 K, three modes, five brightness levels, and a 6, 12 or 16 hour timer. The specification says 15 W, 5 V, and USB. It also says wall mount and a GU10 base, which fights the clip-on bullets. Weight is 610 g. amazon.co.uk shows 4.4 from 473 reviews. Of 27 scraped texts, 21 are from the United Kingdom, five from the United States, and one from the Netherlands. UK reviewers use it on fussy plants and succulents and call it dimmer than expected. One UK delivery arrived with the earth prong of the plug broken off. A 12-month warranty line is printed. It is not waterproof.
Pros
Timer includes 16 hours and five brightness levels
15 W at 5 V is a calmer power line than a 40 W USB claim
4.4 from 473 reviews, with 21 UK texts in the scrape
Clamp and necks praised for a plant stand
Cons
Called dim in more than one UK review
Wall-mount and GU10 fields conflict with the clip bullets
One UK review: earth prong broken on arrival
Five of 27 scraped texts are from the United States
Best for: A sill or shelf with three heads and a 16-hour timer, if you check the plug on arrival
Less suitable: A bright greenhouse bench, or a buyer who needs the mount fields to agree
The Sonamindary S-GL02-2H-120-9V is a two-head clip at about £23.99. The bullets state 120 LEDs, five brightness levels, a 4, 8 or 12 hour timer, and a CRI of at least 85. The specification says 15 W, 9 V, PVC with a metal base, 530 g, and 6.3 x 11.5 x 38 cm. An efficiency field says A. amazon.co.uk shows 4.4 from 123 reviews. Of 41 scraped texts, 39 are from the United States and two are from the United Kingdom. Those two UK texts praise a timer on pomegranate seedlings and a strong clamp after a few weeks. That is too small a UK file to treat 4.4 as British consensus. The best-sellers rank line matches the single-head Sonamindary, which may be a shared node. It is for indoor use.
Pros
Two heads and 120 LEDs on one clamp
15 W at 9 V is printed as a pair
Two UK reviews praise the clamp and a seedling setup
Five dim levels and a timer are on the listing
Cons
Only 2 of 41 scraped texts are from the United Kingdom
Timer stops at 12 hours
Efficiency A is a printed field, not a calculation
Rank line duplicates the single-head listing
Best for: Two pots on one shelf edge if you do not need a UK-heavy review file
Less suitable: A 16-hour schedule, or a buyer who wants the stars to be British opinion
The Ainiv stick is about £8.99, with 48 LEDs, a listed 10 W at 5 V, nine brightness steps, and a 3, 9 or 12 hour timer. The body is 9 x 9 x 64 cm and 150 g, with a USB cable in the included line. amazon.co.uk shows 4.2 from 574 reviews, and all 50 texts in this capture are from the United Kingdom. Reviewers use it for small plants, cuttings, and a dark corner, and they also say the top gets hot and that one unit stopped after about two months. The specification prints an E26 base on a product that is a stick, not a screw bulb. It is the best value here because it is the lowest price at 4.2 or above with at least 500 reviews. The timer cannot run 16 hours.
Pros
About £8.99, the lowest price at 4.2 or above with at least 500 reviews
4.2 from 574 reviews, 50 of 50 scraped texts from the United Kingdom
10 W and 5 V agree
Nine dimming steps and a height-adjustable stick
Cons
Timer stops at 12 hours
UK reviews mention a hot housing and one failure after about two months
E26 is printed on a stick lamp, so it is not a UK screw bulb
150 g and a small panel will not cover a shelf
Best for: One small plant or a few cuttings when you want the cheapest lamp in this set with a large UK review file
Less suitable: A 16-hour seedling schedule, a tall floor plant, or anyone who needs an E27 bulb
No. The bullets list 3, 9, and 12 hour on periods, then off for the rest of the day.
Will it screw into a UK lamp?
The specification prints E26 Medium, which is a North American cap, but the rest of the listing is a freestanding USB stick with a cable. Do not buy it as an E27 bulb.
Do UK reviews mention heat?
Yes. More than one United Kingdom review says the top gets hot. One says far too hot, too quickly. Another says hot but not dangerously so.
The Bamworld ZWD03 is a dual-head clip at about £13.97, with 42 LEDs, three modes, ten brightness levels, and a 3, 9 or 12 hour timer. The bullets mention a padded clip, a USB cable, and an adapter. The specification says 45 W, which does not sit comfortably beside a USB supply, and the included-components field says NO. Weight is 500 g. Shade height is 25 cm. amazon.co.uk shows 4.2 from 77 reviews. Nine of ten scraped texts are from the United Kingdom and one is from the Netherlands. UK reviewers like it for peppers and for one corner, and they also report a timer that did not come on and a stiff clip. It is not waterproof. It will not cover a large group of plants, which one UK review says outright.
Pros
About £13.97 with 9 of 10 scraped texts from the United Kingdom
Ten brightness steps and three modes
Padded clip claimed, for a desk or shelf
UK reviews mention pepper plants and visible growth
Cons
45 W conflicts with the USB bullet
Included-components field says NO
Timer missed its cycle in a UK review
One corner only, and the clip is called stiff
Best for: One corner of houseplants when about £13.97 matters and a 12-hour cap is enough
Less suitable: A 16-hour seedling run, or anyone buying the 45 W figure as draw
The SANSI C23ZW018-T0020A27 is about £29.98, specified at 20 W, 220 V AC, two heads, an E27 base, and a 4, 8 or 12 hour timer. The bullets state 400–780 nm, 4000 K, no UV or IR, and 1,800 lumens, and they compare the lamp with a 300 W incandescent bulb. amazon.co.uk shows 4.2 from 38 reviews, all 16 texts in this capture from the United Kingdom. Reviewers like the clamp and the timer for a small indoor garden and for orchids. They also say the goosenecks are short, sag when warm, and that the heads get hot. One bulb failed within a week and was replaced by the brand. The specification says tabletop, while the reviews describe a clamp. A safety line caps each head at 10 W. It is not waterproof.
Pros
20 W at 220 V is a consistent mains-style power line
4.2 from 38 reviews, all 16 scraped texts from the United Kingdom
Timer and clamp praised for orchids and a small indoor garden
E27 heads are described as replaceable
Cons
Goosenecks called short, weak, and prone to sag
Heads get hot in UK reviews
Timer steps stop at 12 hours and must be reset after a power cut
Tabletop in the specification, clamp in the reviews
Best for: A small group of pots where a 220 V two-head lamp and a UK review file matter more than a 16-hour timer
Less suitable: A tall plant that needs a long neck, or a 16-hour seedling cycle
The Uocub SPL-FLL001 is the tallest lamp in this set, at about £65.99, with a listed size of 17.5 x 17.5 x 165 cm, a 45–165 cm adjustment, 336 LEDs, ten dim steps, a remote, and a 4, 8 or 12 hour timer. The specification says 36 W and 24 V. The title says 48 W. amazon.co.uk shows 3.8 from 115 reviews, and all 32 texts in this capture are from the United Kingdom. Reviewers use it for an indoor olive, a dark bookshelf, a hydroponic tower, and chillies over winter, and they call assembly easy. Several say the timer is unreliable or does not work, and one runs the lamp from a smart plug instead. It is not waterproof. Aluminium is the material field. Weight is 1.94 kg.
Pros
Tallest reach in the set, 45–165 cm, for a floor plant
336 LEDs, ten dim levels, and a remote are on the listing
UK reviews cover olives, chillies, and a dark bookshelf
Tool-free pole is claimed, and reviews call assembly easy
Cons
3.8 from 115 is the weakest large review file in the set
Timer failures repeat across UK reviews
Title says 48 W and the specification says 36 W
Timer stops at 12 hours
Best for: A tall plant on the floor when you can ignore or replace the built-in timer
Less suitable: Anyone who needs the timer to be the reason to buy, or a sill with no floor space
The bullets say the height adjusts from 45 cm to 165 cm. The dimension line is 17.5 x 17.5 x 165 cm.
Do UK reviews trust the timer?
Several do not. Reviews say the timer lights at random or does not work on two units. One person uses smart plugs instead. Another review says the timer was fine on a hydroponic tower.
Which wattage is printed?
The title says 48 W. The specification says 36 watts and 24 volts. Both stay on the record.
The vsshe U10-JZZWSZDHS260702-FBA is about £9.99. The bullets describe 48 LEDs, warm white, white, and a mix, ten brightness levels, a 3, 9 or 12 hour timer, and a base that clips to a pot or pushes into the compost, with no tools. Weight is 283 g. The base is iron and the shade is plastic. The efficiency field says A+++, which is the retired label scale. Wattage, voltage, and dimensions are not in the capture. A listing question asks whether it works on 240 V UK power, and the page does not answer it. amazon.co.uk shows 2.0 from 1 review, and this capture has no review text, so there is no UK comment to quote. It is not waterproof. Country of origin is China.
Pros
Clip or a stake in the compost, which suits a pot with no shelf edge
Ten brightness levels and three white mixes are on the bullets
No tools claimed
About £9.99 is among the lowest shelf prices in the set
Cons
2.0 from 1 rating and no review text
No wattage and no voltage
A+++ is not the current energy-label scale
Timer stops at 12 hours
Best for: Only if you specifically want a compost stake and you accept a single poor rating with no written review
Less suitable: Anyone who wants a UK review file, a known wattage, or a 16-hour timer
The bullets say a detachable base clips onto a pot or inserts into the soil, with no tools. Distance and neck strength are asked on the listing and not answered.
Does the listing confirm 240 V?
A question on the page asks whether it works with 240 V UK power. The specification has no voltage. Do not assume a UK mains plug.
What do reviewers say?
The star line is 2.0 from 1. This capture has no review text, so there is no comment to summarise.
How we compared
Twelve plant lamps on amazon.co.uk were scored from the listing facts in this set. The 1–10 score starts from the star line and is reduced when the scraped review texts are mostly not from the United Kingdom, or when the capture has no review text. The top pick is the largest review count at 4.4 or above with a UK-majority scrape, not the highest star average. The best value is the lowest price at 4.2 or above with at least 500 reviews. There was no lab test and no PPFD measurement.
1
UK review evidence
30%
The amazon.co.uk star average is the starting point. A larger count adds confidence only when the scraped texts are from the United Kingdom. A US-heavy file, or a star line with no review text, is reduced rather than treated as British experience.
2
Mount and reach
20%
A clip needs a shelf or sill. A floor stand or a pole to 165 cm needs floor space. A short or sagging neck does not light a tall canopy.
3
Timer and dark period
20%
Credit depends on whether the listing offers the hours you will actually run, including a 16-hour step where daylight is short. A lamp left on for 24 hours is not a better score.
4
Volts beside wattage
20%
The wattage only counts when the voltage beside it is credible. A high wattage printed next to 5 V, or a title that disagrees with the specification, reduces the score.
5
Heat, water and the plug
10%
Nothing in this set is waterproof. Hot housings and a damaged mains plug are recorded from the listings and UK reviews. A printed energy class is not recalculated.

Plant lamps buying guide
Start with where the lamp has to stand, then with the hours you will actually run, then with whether the watts and the volts agree. The notes below follow that order for these twelve amazon.co.uk listings.
What is a plant lamp?
A plant lamp here is an indoor LED sold on amazon.co.uk to add to short British daylight. It is not a heater, and it is not a waterproof greenhouse fitting. You still want daylight first. The Royal Horticultural Society describes a basic home set-up of about 16 hours where the days are short, and it says short-day plants need a long night. Do not leave a lamp on for 24 hours. None of these twelve listings prints a measured PPFD.
The listings split by how they stand.
Best for
A houseplant in a dark corner when daylight is already short
Seed trays that need a 12- or 16-hour step and then darkness
A floor plant when a clip has no edge to grip
Not ideal for
A wet bathroom, greenhouse bench, or anywhere you need a waterproof fitting
Anyone treating a US-heavy star line as British experience
Heating a room or running a lamp for 24 hours
Mistakes to avoid
1
Reading watts without volts
Aumtrly prints 40 W beside 5 V. Bamworld prints 45 W beside a USB adapter. The Uocub title says 48 W and the specification says 36 W. Keep the pair, and do not buy the larger number on its own.
2
Leaving the lamp on all night
The RHS home example is about 16 hours where daylight is short, then a dark period. Short-day plants need a long night. A 24-hour run is not a stronger setting.
3
Treating a US star line as British
Both Sonamindary files are mostly United States text. fayleer and vsshe have no review bodies in this capture. Ainiv, Aumtrly, Garpsen, SANSI, Uocub, and OHFAMO texts here are from the United Kingdom.
What to weigh up
Mount and how far the light reaches
High
A clip is only useful if you have a shelf, a sill, or a pot rim it can grip. Aumtrly, Wolezek, Bamworld, OHFAMO, both Sonamindary clips, fayleer, and vsshe are clamp or stake lamps. fayleer states a jaw up to 5 cm. vsshe can also push into the compost, which suits a pot with no edge, but it has 2.0 from one rating and no review text. SANSI is tabletop on the specification and a clamp in UK reviews, and those reviews call the necks short and prone to sag when warm.
A floor plant wants a base.
Timer, volts, and whether the reviews are British
High
Match the timer to the hours you will run. Aumtrly, Wolezek, and Garpsen list 6, 12 or 16 hours. fayleer lists 6, 12 or 18 hours, and the Sonamindary single head lists up to 18 hours. Ainiv, Bamworld, vsshe, OHFAMO, the Sonamindary two-head clip, SANSI, and Uocub stop at 12 hours. Several UK reviews say the Uocub timer is unreliable. One Bamworld review says the timer did not come on. One Aumtrly review says the timer sometimes stays on. You still need a dark period.
Which option suits you?
Three typical situations, each with a recommendation from this comparison.
🪴
Pots on a shelf or sill
You have an edge to clamp to and you want a repeating timer. The Wolezek three-head clip is about £19.53, with 4.4 from 473 reviews and a 6, 12 or 16 hour step. Check the plug on arrival. One UK review found the earth prong broken.
You want the lamp close to the tray and a 12- or 16-hour step, then a dark period. The Aumtrly two-head clip is about £18.99, with 4.7 from 67 reviews, all 50 scraped texts from the United Kingdom, and UK notes on chilli and tomato seedlings. Ignore the 40 W line beside 5 V.
You need a stand, not a clip. The Garpsen floor lamp is about £32.99, with 4.4 from 1,120 reviews and a 16-hour step. The Uocub pole reaches 165 cm if you accept 3.8 from 115 reviews and a timer that UK reviews often do not trust.
The top pick is the Garpsen BL-B20A-UK floor lamp at about £32.99. amazon.co.uk shows 4.4 from 1,120 reviews, the largest count at 4.4 or above, and all 50 scraped texts are from the United Kingdom. It lists a 6, 12 or 16 hour timer, 80 LEDs, and a floor stand. Voltage is not printed, and one UK review says the plug broke on first use. No lamp in the set prints a PPFD.
How much do plant lamps cost on amazon.co.uk?
In these twelve listings, shelf prices run from about £8.99 to about £65.99. The Ainiv stick is about £8.99. vsshe and fayleer are about £9.99, and Bamworld is about £13.97. Mid-range clips run from about £16.99 to about £29.98, covering both Sonamindary listings, Aumtrly, Wolezek, OHFAMO, and SANSI. The Garpsen floor lamp is about £32.99. The Uocub pole is about £65.99. Shelf bars and quantum boards often cost more. That wider band is not a price from these ASINs.
How many hours should a plant lamp run?
Use daylight first. The Royal Horticultural Society home example is about 16 hours where British daylight is short, then a dark period. Short-day plants need a long night. Do not run a lamp for 24 hours. Aumtrly, Wolezek, and Garpsen list a 16-hour step. fayleer and the single-head Sonamindary list 18 hours. Ainiv, Bamworld, vsshe, OHFAMO, the two-head Sonamindary, SANSI, and Uocub stop at 12 hours or below on the timer line.
Why do watts and volts disagree on some listings?
Aumtrly prints 5 V and 40 W. Bamworld prints 45 W beside a USB adapter. The Uocub title says 48 W and the specification says 36 W at 24 V. The Sonamindary single head states 5 V, 2 A, and 10 W, and Ainiv states 10 W at 5 V. SANSI states 20 W at 220 V AC. Garpsen lists 30 W and does not print a voltage.
Are the star ratings from UK buyers?
The star line is the amazon.co.uk total, not a UK-only count. In this capture, Ainiv, Aumtrly, Garpsen, SANSI, Uocub, and OHFAMO texts are from the United Kingdom. Wolezek is 21 of 27 UK, and Bamworld is 9 of 10 UK. Both Sonamindary files are mostly United States text, so 4.6 from 314 and 4.4 from 123 are not a UK sample. fayleer, at 4.7 from 65, and vsshe, at 2.0 from 1, have no review text in the capture.
Can I use a plant lamp in a bathroom or as a heater?
No. Nothing in this set is described as waterproof, and a lamp is not a heater. SANSI and Ainiv UK reviews mention hot housings. Keep the unit off a wet bench. Stop and get an electrician if the plug is cracked, the earth pin has snapped, the case smells of hot plastic, or the circuit trips. Do not open the driver. Permanent garage or greenhouse wiring is not a clip-lamp job.
Do seedlings need more than a lamp?
Seed trays want the lamp close to the leaves and a 12- or 16-hour step, then darkness. Aumtrly lists 6, 12 or 16 hours, and UK reviews mention chilli and tomato seedlings that were not leggy. A lamp does not warm the compost. A seedling heat mat is a separate product for soil temperature. Pale leaves with rot or pests are not fixed by leaving the lamp on overnight.
What should a UK plug look like on these lamps?
A domestic mains plug should be a correctly fitted BS 1363 plug, or a non-UK plug permanently fitted with a conversion plug and a BS 1362 fuse. A 5 V head sits outside the 50–1,000 V AC scope of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016. Its 13 A adapter does not. An OPSS report on a Fecida UFO600, which is not in this set, described shock risk and a plug that failed BS 1363.
Our verdict
The top pick is Aumtrly 2-head clip, with the highest score in this comparison (9.1 out of 10, from 67 amazon.co.uk reviews). The best value is the Ainiv 48-LED stick at about £8.99, with 4.2 from 574 reviews, 50 of 50 scraped texts from the United Kingdom, and a timer that stops at 12 hours. A higher star line with no UK text, or a US-heavy file, is not British experience. No lamp here prints a PPFD, and none is waterproof.
