Nursery pots comparison 2026

The best Nursery pots, compared.

Top pick: DONGSWARE (fibre, 15) Best value: Muzhira (6 cm, 10) – About £6.64 for ten pots the listing calls nursery pots, with 4.4 from 1,311 reviews, indoor use only, and a split sturdy-versus-flimsy file. Updated October 2026.

Peter F.Editor

Nursery pots are small growing pots for seedlings, cuttings, and one step of potting on. In the UK they are sold mostly as plastic packs sized by top diameter in centimetres. You use them on a windowsill, in a greenhouse, or on an allotment bench. They are not decorative flower pots or air-pruning cells. A suitable nursery pot matches the job. About 7–9 cm suits seedlings and cuttings, about 10–11 cm a young plant, and about 15 cm bedding and herbs. Check the inner width, not only the rim. The drainage hole has to be open. A listing can still mean a membrane you punch through. A thick wall survives a wash. A thin wall is for one sowing season if you support the pot as you fill it. Buy the next size up, not a leap into a large pot. Use a saucer only on a sill, and empty it. In England, non-black rigid plastic is easier to sort than black pigment, and compostable pots stay out of the plastic stream. See the [nursery pots buying guide](/hub/plant-accessories/nursery-pots/sub/nursery-pots-buying-guide).

The best Nursery pots in detail

DONGSWARE (fibre, 15)

Rank 1

DONGSWARE (fibre, 15)

∼£15

Our view

DONGSWARE (fibre, 15) is the plant-out pack here: fifteen cardboard pots of about 14 cm diameter and roughly 12.5 cm height, plus fifteen white plastic labels, for about £14.99. The listing describes roots growing through the wall as the pot degrades, and drainage is yes. No breakdown time appears in the bullets or in the two UK reviews, both at 5.0. That average is too thin to treat as a tested lifespan. Organic production wording is seller text only, not a certificate in the file. This is a convenience buy for planting out without disturbing a root ball, not a cheap hundred-count sowing tray. The labels are plastic, so they should not go into the soil with the pot. Do not put the pot in the plastic recycling stream.

Pros

  • Seller describes planting the pot out
  • Fifteen pots plus fifteen labels
  • Drainage marked yes
  • About 14 cm for a late step before the border

Cons

  • Only two UK reviews
  • No stated degrade time on the listing
  • Plastic labels alongside the pots
  • Organic wording is the seller's text only

Best for: You plan to set seedlings in the ground still in the pot and accept single-use fibre.

Less suitable: You want washable plastic you will reuse for many seasons on the bench.

Common questions

Are these for seed starting?

The bullets say seedlings, herbs, flowers and vegetables. Two reviews say they matched the listing.

How long do they take to degrade?

The listing asks this. No time is given in the bullets or the two reviews.

Can the pot go into the soil?

The bullets say roots grow through the wall as the pot degrades, and that you avoid disturbing the root ball. That is the seller's description.

KINGLAKE (clear, 36)

Rank 2

KINGLAKE (clear, 36)

∼£17

Our view

KINGLAKE (clear, 36) at about £16.99 gives clear PET pots in three diameters, 10 cm, 12.7 cm and 16.5 cm, with drainage marked yes and a combined weight around 730 g. Most written reviews in the shared file describe orchid repotting, though the title also names seedling nursery use and some buyers watch roots on other plants. The 4.6 from 916 star line is identical to the 15-pack, so do not treat the score as unique to this box. Usage is indoor in the field while bullets mention outdoor use. You pay the highest pack price here for clear walls, not for one sowing diameter. There is no saucer.

Pros

  • Clear PET so you can inspect roots
  • Thirty-six pots across three sizes
  • Drainage marked yes
  • Title also names seedling nursery use

Cons

  • Review text and stars shared with the 15-pack
  • Highest pack price in this set
  • Indoor usage field only
  • Orchid-focused reviews dominate the file

Best for: You want a stock of clear pots to monitor roots on houseplants or orchids.

Less suitable: You need a single cheap size for a greenhouse sowing bench.

Common questions

Are these only orchid pots?

The title says clear orchid pots and seedling nursery pots. Most written reviews are orchid repotting. Some use them to check roots on other plants.

Do they have drainage holes?

Drainage is marked yes. Reviews describe holes in the base.

Is the 4.6 unique to this 36-pack?

No. The 15-pack listing has the same 4.6 from 916 and the same review text.

KINGLAKE (clear, 15)

Rank 3

KINGLAKE (clear, 15)

∼£13

Our view

KINGLAKE (clear, 15) at about £12.99 is the smaller clear PET option: five each of 10 cm, 12.7 cm and 16.5 cm according to the bullets. It carries the same 4.6 from 916 reviews and largely the same written texts as the 36-pack, so reading both star totals together would double-count one pool. The material field says plastic while the bullets say PET. Indoor is the usage field; the bullets again mention outdoor. The clear wall helps you see when roots circle, yet most UK comments still read as orchid repotting. You save against the 36-pack and still pay more per pot than opaque sowing lines. No saucer is included.

Pros

  • Fifteen clear pots in three diameters
  • Lower pack price than the 36-count
  • Five of each size in the bullets
  • Drainage marked yes

Cons

  • Shared 916-review pool with the 36-pack
  • Material field conflicts with PET bullets
  • Reviews skew to orchids
  • Indoor usage field

Best for: You want a modest clear pot assortment for root checks indoors.

Less suitable: You need a review score that applies only to this 15-pack, or one diameter for fifty seedlings.

Do they include a saucer?

No saucer is in the included line.

FORAGIFT (12.5 cm, 6)

Rank 4

FORAGIFT (12.5 cm, 6)

∼£13

Our view

FORAGIFT (12.5 cm, 6) bundles six white 12.5 cm plastic pots with matching saucers for about £12.99. It is the row in this set that includes dishes in the box. Bullets mention seedlings and herbs, but the amazon.co.uk rank sits under flower pots, so the fit as a nursery pot is uncertain. Drainage is yes, and the usage field allows indoor and outdoor. There is no frost test in the file. Only 4.6 from 29 reviews backs the line, and written texts describe other sizes and colours in the same family, so the stars are not a clean read for this white 12.5 cm pack. Some buyers say saucers fit tightly or sit high on the rim.

Pros

  • Six saucers included with six pots
  • 12.5 cm suits young herbs on a sill
  • Drainage yes; indoor and outdoor in the usage field
  • Seedlings mentioned in the bullets

Cons

  • Only 29 reviews, many for other variants
  • Uncertain fit as a true nursery pot
  • Saucer fit complaints in some texts
  • Higher price per pot than the Muzhira ten-pack

Best for: You want six matched pots and saucers for a windowsill herb or seedling line.

Less suitable: You need a large count of plain nursery pots for greenhouse sowing.

No. The written reviews also describe 10 cm, 15 cm, black and terracotta.

Happy Pots (15 cm, 5)

Rank 5

Happy Pots (15 cm, 5)

∼£10

Our view

Happy Pots (15 cm, 5) is the thick UK-made pot in this set for moving bedding, herbs, or a young plant up from a 7–9 cm starter. The listing puts capacity at 1.75 litres, dimensions at 16 × 16 × 18.6 cm against a 15 cm size field, and drainage with two-tier holes in the bullets. At about £10.49 that is about £2.10 a pot, which is why it is the top pick rather than a thin bulk line. UK texts often mention walls that do not buckle when you firm compost. The 4.5 from 664 is the same star line as the 7.5 cm ten-pack, and written reviews name other diameters, so treat the average as a family score. No saucer is included. A windowsill needs a separate tray you empty after watering.

Pros

  • UK origin stated on the listing
  • 1.75 litre volume for one potting-on step
  • Two-tier drainage holes in the bullets
  • Thick-wall praise in UK review texts

Cons

  • Star rating shared with the 7.5 cm pack
  • No saucer in the box
  • Size field says 15 cm; dimensions read 16 cm
  • Higher unit price than a thin sowing pot

Best for: You are potting on to about 15 cm and want a reusable wall for indoor or outdoor use.

Less suitable: You need a hundred cheap pots for one sowing season, or a star line that applies only to this diameter.

Common questions

Does this 5-pack have drainage holes?

The listing says drainage is yes, and the bullets describe two-tier drainage holes. No saucer is included.

Is it for indoor and outdoor use?

The usage field is indoor and outdoor. Weather resistant is a special-feature label. The file has no frost test.

Are the 664 reviews only for the 15 cm pots?

No. The listing shares the 4.5 from 664 line and the same written reviews as the 7.5 cm ten-pack, and those texts name other sizes.

Happy Pots (7.5 cm, 10)

Rank 6

Happy Pots (7.5 cm, 10)

∼£10

Our view

Happy Pots (7.5 cm, 10) is the UK-made small pot in this set, with 0.25 litres capacity and dimensions of 8 × 8 × 13 cm in the spec. The captured price is about £9.99. The same ASIN showed £7.99 on 20 October 2026, so check the live price before you buy. It shares the 4.5 from 664 line and much of the written review text with the 15 cm five-pack, which means praise for thick walls may refer to other sizes in the family. The usage field says outdoor while the bullets mention indoor or outdoor. Drainage is yes, with two-tier holes in the bullets. Confirm you are on ASIN B0C5D5LGZL. No saucer is included.

Pros

  • 7.5 cm band fits seedlings and small cuttings
  • UK origin on the listing
  • Ten pots in one pack for a sowing batch
  • Drainage holes described in the bullets

Cons

  • Reviews and stars pooled with the 15 cm pack
  • Outdoor-only usage field conflicts with the bullets
  • Captured price may differ from the live listing
  • No saucer

Best for: You want ten small UK-made pots you can reuse for a season of sowing.

Less suitable: You need an independent review count for 7.5 cm only, or a pot-and-saucer set for a sill.

KAHEIGN (clear, 36)

Rank 7

KAHEIGN (clear, 36)

∼£13

Our view

KAHEIGN (clear, 36) at about £12.99 undercuts KINGLAKE (clear, 36) on pack price and still gives clear PET pots in three sizes, twelve of each according to the bullets. Title sizes of 9 cm, 10 cm and 13 cm do not line up exactly with the bullet centimetre block. UK reviewers value seeing roots, but several say drainage holes arrived as membranes you poke out, and hole placement varies by size. The usage field is outdoor. With 4.5 from 137 reviews the file is smaller than the KINGLAKE pool, and part of the written export is not from the United Kingdom. One UK text mentioned a deformed delivery. No tray is listed. Treat it as a clear propagation set, not a windowsill kit with saucers.

Pros

  • Thirty-six clear PET pots, twelve per size
  • Lower pack price than KINGLAKE (clear, 36)
  • 4.5 from 137 reviews on this ASIN
  • Four holes claimed in the bullets

Cons

  • Title and bullet dimensions disagree
  • Punch-out holes reported in UK texts
  • Part of the written file is not from the UK
  • No saucer or tray included

Best for: You want cheaper clear pots in three small sizes and will open holes before watering.

Less suitable: You need UK-only reviews, matched title dimensions, or a tray in the box.

Are the drainage holes open?

The bullets say four holes. UK reviews say some holes had to be poked out and that they sit in different places by size.

Muzhira (6 cm, 10)

Rank 8

Muzhira (6 cm, 10)

Our view

Muzhira (6 cm, 10) is about £6.64 for ten pots the amazon.co.uk listing labels as nursery pots for seed starting and cuttings, which is why it is the best value in this comparison rather than the cheapest three-pack. The planter form field reads Nursery Pot, the title says 6 cm, and the size field says 6.7 cm, while a separate dimension line lists 10 × 10 × 10 mm. With 4.4 from 1,311 reviews you get a large UK file, but sturdiness is split: some buyers call the pots fine for propagation, others say they feel flimsy at 60 g for the whole ten. The usage field is indoor only, so treat outdoor bench use as your own risk. Drainage is yes, and there is no saucer. If you need a measured 15 cm potting-on pot, this row is the wrong diameter.

Pros

  • Planter form explicitly a nursery pot
  • 4.4 from 1,311 reviews on this listing
  • Low pack price for ten starters
  • Drainage marked yes in the spec

Cons

  • Indoor-only usage field
  • Mixed sturdy versus flimsy review texts
  • Title, size field and millimetre line disagree
  • No saucer included

Best for: You want an explicit small nursery ten-pack for seedlings and cuttings on a budget.

Less suitable: You need a thick 15 cm pot, outdoor-rated usage in the spec, or dimensions you can trust without measuring.

Whitefurze (15 cm, 3)

Rank 9

Whitefurze (15 cm, 3)

Our view

Whitefurze (15 cm, 3) is the lowest pack price in this comparison, at about £5.50 for three terracotta-colour polypropylene pots with a 15 cm title and 1.75 litre capacity in the spec. It is not the best value, because UK buyers often report drainage that is present but closed: thinned plastic you punch out before the first water. Its 4.4 from 858 reviews is a separate file from Happy Pots. The material is polypropylene, not clay, despite the colour name. The spec block also lists a voltage field and an item name for a 31 cm pot, which are listing errors rather than what arrives in the box. Saucers are sold separately.

Pros

  • Lowest pack price among the 15 cm pots here
  • 858-review file, separate from Happy Pots
  • 1.75 litre capacity stated
  • Indoor and outdoor called out in the title

Cons

  • Drainage often needs punching through a membrane
  • No saucer in the three-pack
  • Junk spec fields on the listing
  • Unit count field conflicts with a set of three

Best for: You want three cheap 15 cm pots and will open the holes before watering.

Less suitable: You want ready-open drainage without prep, or a listing spec you can read at face value.

No. The bullets point at a separate saucer range. One reviewer expected a dish and did not get one.

KINGLAKE (black, 100)

Rank 10

KINGLAKE (black, 100)

∼£11

Our view

KINGLAKE (black, 100) at about £10.99 is the thin black seedling line, about 11 pence a pot on the captured price. Bullets describe an outer diameter of about 10 cm, inner about 8.5 cm, and height about 9 cm. Several UK reviewers measure closer to 8.5 cm across. With 4.2 from 4,202 reviews this is the largest file here, and many texts treat the pots as one-season pieces that buckle if you fill them unsupported. One UK review claimed holes in only 17 of 100 pots. That is a single report, and it is a reason to inspect the delivery. Black pigment is the colour England's kerbside rules struggle to sort. The usage field is outdoor.

Pros

  • Lowest unit price in the comparison
  • 4.2 from 4,202 reviews
  • Bullets target seedlings and propagation
  • Hundred count for a busy sowing year

Cons

  • Thin walls; collapse mentioned in reviews
  • Inner width often read as about 8.5 cm
  • Black plastic is hard to sort at English kerbsides
  • One review reported many pots without holes

Best for: You are filling a greenhouse bench for one season and will support pots while you add compost.

Less suitable: You want a rigid pot to wash and reuse for several years of potting on.

The bullets say about 10 cm outer and about 8.5 cm inner. Several reviews measure about 8.5 cm.

No. The included line is 100 pots.

Bamworld (3 inch, 24)

Rank 11

Bamworld (3 inch, 24)

Our view

Bamworld (3 inch, 24) lists twenty-four small white polypropylene pots with catch trays for about £9.49, aimed at cuttings and seedlings on a sill where drips matter. The title says 3 inch, while dimensions also show 8 × 6 × 8 cm and an erroneous 10 × 10 × 10 mm line, so measure on arrival. Drainage slots are in the bullets, and trays are named in the included components. The captured amazon.co.uk file has no customer reviews line, so there is no star rating to use and this row is not comparable with rated pots. A food-safe claim appears as seller wording without a certificate in the file. Indoor and outdoor are both in the usage field.

Pros

  • Twenty-four pots and twenty-four catch trays
  • Slotted drainage described in the bullets
  • Indoor and outdoor usage field
  • Pack price under ten pounds

Cons

  • No customer reviews line on the captured listing
  • Conflicting dimension fields
  • Food-safe claim is seller wording only
  • True diameter unclear from the title alone

Best for: You need many tiny pots with trays and accept buying without star ratings.

Less suitable: You will not order until other UK buyers have left written reviews.

How we compared

Eleven amazon.co.uk listings are scored on diameter for the job, whether the drainage hole is actually open, wall thickness against reuse, and price only after the job fits. Decorative cachepots were left out, apart from one 12.5 cm set whose bullets mention seedlings. There is no laboratory frost or UV test. Stars count only with the review count on that listing. The two Happy Pots sizes share one 4.5 from 664 reviews. The two KINGLAKE clear packs share one 4.6 from 916. The top pick is the thick UK-made 15 cm five-pack, Happy Pots (15 cm, 5). Best value is the explicit nursery ten-pack, Muzhira (6 cm, 10). The lowest pack price, Whitefurze at about £5.50, is not the best value, because UK reviews often describe punch-out holes.

1

Diameter and next size

30%

About 7–9 cm suits seedlings and cuttings, about 10–11 cm a young plant, and about 15 cm bedding and herbs. Volumes on a UK size chart are approximate. Points follow whether the stated diameter matches that job, and whether you are buying the next size up rather than a leap. A title, a size field and a millimetre line that disagree are marked down.

2

Open drainage

25%

A hole you can water through scores above a membrane you must punch, and above a pack where a UK review reports many pots with no hole. “Has Drainage: Yes” is not treated as proof the hole arrives open. One missing-hole report is recorded as one report, not as a count of every pot sold.

3

Wall, reuse and reviews

25%

A thick wall you can firm and wash scores above a thin wall for one sowing season. amazon.co.uk stars count only with the review count. A shared star line is one sample, not two. A file with no customer reviews line is a gap. Mixed sturdy-versus-flimsy texts stay visible.

4

Price after the job fits

20%

Shelf price is compared only inside the same job. The best value is the low-priced explicit nursery ten-pack, not the cheapest three-pack of 15 cm pots with punch-out holes, and not the lowest pence-per-pot on a thin hundred-pack. A captured price that later moved on one ASIN is kept as captured and noted.

Nursery pots buying guide

Start with the diameter, then the hole, then the wall, then the price. A 15 cm potting-on pot and a 6 cm starter do not do the same job. Shelf prices in this capture run from about £5.50 to about £16.99. The top pick is Happy Pots (15 cm, 5). The best value is Muzhira (6 cm, 10). The cheapest three-pack is not the best value, because the holes are often still closed. Nothing on this page is a frost test in a lab.

What is a nursery pot?

A nursery pot is a small growing pot for seedlings, cuttings, and one step of potting on. On amazon.co.uk the usual offer is a plastic pack sized by the top diameter in centimetres. The four jobs in this category are a thick pot you can wash and reuse, a thin pot for one sowing season, a clear pot so you can see roots, and a fibre or cardboard pot you can plant out. Decorative flower pots with saucers are a different product, apart from the odd set whose bullets also mention seedlings.

Best for

  • Allotment and greenhouse sowers who need a count of small pots for one year
  • Houseplant keepers who want a clear pot so they can see roots
  • Windowsill growers who need a tray more than a hundred-pack

Not ideal for

  • A decorative flower pot with a matched saucer as the main job
  • A commercial nursery specification
  • A biodegradable pot you intend to put in the plastic recycling bin

Mistakes to avoid

  1. 1

Reading the rim as the inner width

A bullet can say about 10 cm outside and about 8.5 cm inside. If you planned a true 10 cm row, measure the inner width. A pot that is not as described is a point for the seller under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, not a fault in your sowing.

  2. 2

    Trusting a shared star line

Happy Pots sizes share 4.5 from 664 reviews and much of the same written text. Both KINGLAKE clear packs share 4.6 from 916. Those averages are family scores. They are not proof that one diameter earned the stars on its own.

  3. 3

Putting a fibre pot in the plastic bin

GOV.UK excludes compostable and biodegradable items from the plastic stream. Garden waste need not include plant pots. Plastic labels that arrive with a fibre pack should not go into the soil with the pot.

What to weigh up

Diameter, holes and the next size

High

Choose the diameter before the brand. About 7–9 cm is the seedling and cutting band, about 10–11 cm is a young plant, and about 15 cm is bedding and herbs. Those bands come from a UK size chart, and the volumes on it are approximate. The inner width is the figure that matters. A 15 cm size field can sit next to a 16 cm dimension block. A 6 cm title can sit next to a 6.7 cm size field and a millimetre line that is not a real pot. The hole is the second check.

Wall, material and price

High

A thick wall costs more per pot and survives firming and a wash. A thin wall is for one sowing season if you fill it while the pot is supported. Clear PET is for seeing roots, and much of the written comment on those packs is orchid repotting. Cardboard you plant out avoids teasing a root ball apart. No degrade time is stated on the fibre listing here, and two reviews are a thin sample. Do not put that pot in the plastic bin.

Which option suits you?

Three typical situations, each with a recommendation from this comparison.

One step up to about 15 cm

You are moving bedding, herbs or a young plant up from a 7–9 cm starter and you want a wall you can firm. Happy Pots (15 cm, 5) at about £10.49 is the top pick: UK origin on the listing, 1.75 litres, two-tier drainage in the bullets, and 4.5 from 664 reviews shared with the 7.5 cm pack. No saucer is included. Skip it if you need a hundred thin pots for one sowing year.

Seedlings and cuttings on a budget

You want a small explicit nursery pack for seed starting and cuttings, and you can accept a split verdict on stiffness. Muzhira (6 cm, 10) at about £6.64 is the best value: planter form Nursery Pot, 4.4 from 1,311 reviews, drainage marked yes, indoor use only. The title says 6 cm and the size field says 6.7 cm. It is the wrong row for a measured 15 cm pot.

Seeing roots on a houseplant

You want clear walls so you can check roots, including on an orchid in a cachepot. KINGLAKE (clear, 36) at about £16.99 gives 36 PET pots in 10, 12.7 and 16.5 cm, with 4.6 from 916 reviews shared with the 15-pack. Most written reviews are orchid repotting. The usage field is indoor. It is a poor match for one cheap diameter on a greenhouse bench.

Common questions about Nursery pots

Which nursery pots are the top pick in 2026?
The top pick is Happy Pots (15 cm, 5), at about £10.49. The listing states UK origin, a 1.75 litre capacity, dimensions of 16 × 16 × 18.6 cm against a 15 cm size field, and two-tier drainage holes in the bullets. amazon.co.uk shows 4.5 from 664 reviews, the same line as the 7.5 cm Happy Pots pack, so treat it as a family score. UK review texts often mention walls that do not buckle when you firm compost. No saucer is included. This is not a laboratory test.
Which nursery pots are the best value?
The best value is Muzhira (6 cm, 10), at about £6.64. The listing calls the planter form a nursery pot for seed starting and cuttings, marks drainage as yes, and sets usage to indoor only. amazon.co.uk shows 4.4 from 1,311 reviews. Sturdiness is split: some buyers find the pots fine for propagation, others call them flimsy at 60 g for the ten. The title says 6 cm, the size field says 6.7 cm, and a separate millimetre line is not usable. It is not a thick 15 cm pot.
How much do nursery pots cost?
Captured amazon.co.uk shelf prices run from about £5.50 to about £16.99. Whitefurze is about £5.50 for three pots. Muzhira is about £6.64 for ten. Bamworld is about £9.49. Happy Pots is about £9.99 for ten 7.5 cm pots and about £10.49 for five 15 cm pots. The 100-pack is about £10.99. Clear packs and the saucer six-pack sit from about £12.99 to about £16.99. The fibre 15-pack is about £14.99. On 20 October 2026 the 7.5 cm Happy Pots ASIN showed £7.99. This page keeps the captured £9.99.
What should I check before I buy nursery pots?
Match the diameter to the job. About 7–9 cm suits seedlings and cuttings, about 10–11 cm a young plant, and about 15 cm bedding and herbs. Check that the drainage hole is open, not only a membrane you punch. Choose a thick wall to reuse or a thin wall for one season, and buy the next size up rather than a leap. Add a saucer only for a windowsill. In England, black plastic is harder to sort than non-black rigid pots. Read the inner width, not only the rim.
Do nursery pots need open drainage holes?
Yes, if you follow Royal Horticultural Society container advice: do not cover small drainage holes, and use a peat-free compost suited to the crop. A listing line that says drainage is present still includes pots where UK reviews describe a membrane you punch out. One review of a 100-pack said holes in only 17 of 100 pots. That single report is not a count of the whole review file, but check the delivery before you sow. A saucer left full keeps the compost wet.
Should I reuse plastic or plant a fibre pot?
Reuse a thick plastic pot when you will wash it and pot on again. Plant a fibre or cardboard pot when you want to set the seedling in the ground without teasing the root ball apart. The only fibre listing here states no breakdown time. Do not put compostable pots in the plastic recycling stream. GOV.UK excludes compostable and biodegradable items from that stream, and garden waste need not include plant pots. Plastic labels on a fibre pack should not go into the soil with the pot.
Can I recycle black nursery pots in England?
From 31 March 2026, Simpler Recycling is the basis the Horticultural Trades Association cites for collecting non-black plastic pots larger than 40 mm in two dimensions. Black pigment stays hard to sort. Not every English council already takes plant pots. West Sussex is one example that takes clean, loose, non-black pots at the kerbside. Compostable pots are excluded from the plastic stream. Call your council before a large waste load. This page is not a promise that your bin round accepts every pot here.
Are nursery pots the same as flower pots?
A nursery pot is a growing pot for seedlings, cuttings, or one potting-on step, usually without a saucer. Decorative flower pots are a different comparison. If that is the job, use the flower pots comparison. Clear packs in this set are often reviewed for orchid repotting as well as root checks. Happy Pots sizes share 4.5 from 664 reviews, and both KINGLAKE clear packs share 4.6 from 916. Do not read either average as proof for one diameter alone.

Our verdict

The top pick is Happy Pots (15 cm, 5), at about £10.49. It is five UK-made plastic pots with a 1.75 litre capacity, a 15 cm size field against dimensions of 16 × 16 × 18.6 cm, and two-tier drainage holes in the bullets. amazon.co.uk shows 4.5 from 664 reviews, the same line as Happy Pots (7.5 cm, 10), so the average is a family score. UK texts often mention walls that do not buckle. About £2.10 a pot is higher than a thin sowing pot, and no saucer is included. The best value is Muzhira (6 cm, 10), at about £6.64, with 4.4 from 1,311 reviews on a listing that calls the planter a nursery pot. Sturdiness is split, the usage field is indoor only, and the size lines disagree. Whitefurze (15 cm, 3) is the lowest pack price, about £5.50, and it is not the best value, because drainage is often a membrane you punch out. None of these scores is a laboratory test.
