What electric start actually is

The starter battery turns the crankshaft until the petrol engine fires. In this set the three Hyundai bullets name a recoil backup. The Draper 08671 bullet, at £207.40, claims an electric start button and does not mention a cord. A Hyundai HYM430SPE manual, an example and not the text on these Amazon bundles, says charge before first use and after every ten uses. Your carton manual wins. The checks, in order

Start with the power in the title. If the machine is cordless or mains, it is a different product. Next, count the engines. A strimmer, a backpack blower, or a second mower means the pounds on the page are not the mower’s price. Then read the drive. The button does not turn the wheels. Self-propelled and push are a separate decision, set out on the self-propelled or push petrol mower page. Width comes after drive. About 42 cm and about 51–56 cm are different afternoons. Ignore a width cell that belongs to the other tool. If the manual is silent on E10, GOV.UK’s E10 guidance says use E5 super unleaded (97+). How long that petrol may sit is on the E10 petrol lawn mower page. Noise is a label on the machine. Schedule 3 sets Stage II limits of 96 dB up to 50 cm and 98 dB from there to 70 cm. What the prices in this set are buying

£207.40 is the only single-mower title, a Draper 08671 with a 132 cc bullet, a 420 mm cut, and a 45 litre bag. Amazon’s bullet claims the button. Draper’s own page does not mention electric start, and it lists 410 mm, 23 kg, and self-propelled drive. The file shows 3.4 from two reviews. £421.79 is a Hyundai mower plus a 52 cc strimmer. £455.99 adds a 52 cc backpack blower. £752.39 is two Hyundai mowers, 56 cm electric start and 51 cm recoil. None of those three files has a review line. Expert Reviews printed £460 for a HYM510SPE. That string is not an ASIN here.

What this guide will not decide

Drive, the first start, and the petrol at the pump each have their own URL. A rear roller, for stripes, has to be named on the listing. None of the kept files say rear roller.

Common questions

Is electric start the same as a cordless mower?
No. A cordless mower cuts on a battery you recharge. A petrol lawn mower with electric start still needs petrol in the tank. The small battery only cranks the engine, usually for a few seconds, and then the engine runs on fuel. If the title is battery-only, it sits outside this set. The button is a starter, not a way to keep mowing once the tank is empty.
Does the pull cord stay?
Often yes, and you should look for that sentence before you pay. The Hyundai bullets in this set say electric start with a recoil backup. The Draper 08671 bullet claims a button and does not mention a cord, and Draper’s own page does not mention the button. A missing sentence is not proof the cord was designed out. Read the manual in the carton before you rely on the button alone.
Why is one Hyundai hundreds of pounds more than another?
Because the higher amazon.co.uk figures include a second machine. £421.79 adds a 52 cc strimmer, £455.99 adds a backpack blower, and £752.39 is two mowers. They are not three prices for the same deck. The £207.40 Draper is the only single-mower title here, and that row still disagrees with the manufacturer page. A bigger number is a fuller box, not a better button.
What width should I look for?
Match the width to the lawn you mow, and use the figure that belongs to the mower. About 42 cm, the Draper bullet and the smaller Hyundai claims, is a different job from the 56 cm and 51 cm pair. A 450 mm width cell on the strimmer bundle tracks the strimmer, not a wider mower. This page does not turn those centimetres into a square-metre rule.
Can I put ordinary unleaded in it?
Only if the manual says the mower accepts E10. Standard 95 in Great Britain has been E10 since September 2021, and in Northern Ireland since November 2022. GOV.UK says lawnmowers may not be compatible. If you are unsure, use E5 super unleaded, the 97+ grade. Draper’s page says 08671 is E10 compatible. The Hyundai files here do not. Silence is not approval.
