Einhell grass trimmer buying guide

Updated: October 2026

Eight Einhell shaft strimmers sit on amazon.co.uk, and the prices are not the same kind of purchase. One row is a 24 cm blade tool at about £32.56 with no battery. Another is a corded line trimmer whose bullets say 450 W. A third needs two 18 V packs and still ships without them. This Einhell grass trimmer buying guide stops at the forks: the cutter, whether a battery is in the box, how many packs the tool needs, and whether the listing describes a head that turns. The [Einhell grass trimmer comparison](/hub/lawn-and-garden-equipment/einhell-grass-trimmer) holds the eight-row table. Peter F. did not lab-test them. Blade, line, or a metal blade somewhere else

Five listings cut with plastic blades: articles 3411104, 3411123, 3411172, 3411125, and 3411197. All are 24 cm and include 20 knives. Three use nylon line. Article 3411242 is the 28 cm GE-CT 18/28. Article 3411300 is the 30 cm GE-CT 36/30. Article 3402026 is the corded GC-ET 4530, 30 cm twin line. Einhell’s UK blog draws the split plainly. Plastic blades are for open grass, with care near hard surfaces. Nylon is for walls and stones. A metal blade belongs on a brush cutter, not on a lawn trimmer of this width. A blade tool beside gravel spends the session snapping knives, which reviews of these blade listings already report. Diameters and the kerb case stay on the line or blades page.

Solo, kit, or the mains lead

Solo means the tool without a battery and without a charger. Five listings are tool-only: the blade Solos at about £32.56, about £39.95, and about £48.43, the 28 cm line Solo at about £64.95, and the 36 V tool at about £94.95. Article 3411125 states a 2.0 Ah Power X-Change pack and a fast charger at about £51.54. Article 3411197 includes a battery and a fast charger at about £68.99 and does not print the amp-hour. The GC-ET 4530 is the third exit. Amazon lists article 3402026 at about £54.95, AC, with 450 W in the bullets. Einhell’s page prints a 10 m cable and 1.4 mm line, and it does not print the wattage. The style name is UK Version. Volts and the plug standard are not printed. Electrical Safety First’s advice still applies: a UK 3-pin plug, a 30 mA RCD, dry ground, and the cable over your shoulder. If the cupboard is empty, compare that kit with a Solo plus a starter pack on the Solo or kit page.

One pack or two, and which head flips

Every 18 V tool here needs one Power X-Change pack. Article 3411300 needs two of those same packs and is not a kit. At about £94.95 you have bought the 30 cm shaft and the 2 mm bump-feed head. One starter kit leaves it short. A rotating head is described on four articles. Article 3411172 prints plus or minus 90 degrees and five tilts. Article 3411197 says the head rotates and does not print the angle. Article 3411242 prints 180 degrees and three tilts. Article 3402026 prints 180 degrees, four tilts, and an edge roller. Article 3411104 does not. A flower guard is not that claim. Assembly is marked Yes on 3411172 and 3411197, and No on the others. Do not average weights that disagree inside one listing.

What the prices are allowed to say

The shelf prices are amazon.co.uk figures from 19 October 2026. As a rule of thumb from these eight prices only, a bare 18 V blade tool sits about £33 to £49, a kit or the corded set about £52 to £70, and the bare 36 V tool at about £94.95 before two packs. Do not give these eight listings a runtime. Einhell’s approximate 40 minutes for article 3411172 is for a 2.0 Ah pack that listing does not include. The cut itself is on the how to use page.

Common questions

Should I buy the cheapest Solo if I have no Einhell battery?
Not if you treat about £32.56 as ready to run. Article 3411104 is the lowest tool-only price, and the battery and charger are sold separately. If a Power X-Change pack is already on the shelf, that Solo price is the honest comparison. If the shelf is empty, add a starter pack before you call the Solo cheaper than the 2.0 Ah kit.
When is the corded GC-ET 4530 the simpler buy?
When you would rather manage a cable than buy a battery system, and the edge suits nylon. Amazon lists article 3402026 at about £54.95 with 450 W, a 30 cm twin line, and an edge roller. You still need an outdoor socket, a 30 mA RCD, and dry ground. It is awkward once the lawn is further than the 10 m cable Einhell prints.
Do I need one battery or two?
One pack for every 18 V tool here, in the box or not. Two packs for article 3411300 only. That 30 cm line trimmer is about £94.95 with neither pack included. They are the same 18 V Power X-Change type, used as a pair. One starter kit does not finish it.
Which models describe a rotating head?
Article 3411172: plus or minus 90 degrees and five tilts. Article 3411197: rotating, angle not printed. Article 3411242: 180 degrees and three tilts. Article 3402026: 180 degrees, four tilts, and an edge roller. Article 3411104 does not describe a rotating head on Amazon or on Einhell’s page. A flower guard is not a substitute.
What must I not claim about runtime?
Do not give these eight listings a minutes figure. The approximate 40 minutes on Einhell’s page for article 3411172 is for a 2.0 Ah battery that box does not include. Do not copy 40 minutes from article 3411102, and do not turn one person’s timed session into a specification. The captured Amazon pages do not print runtime.
