Fuel line hose clips

Updated: 23 October 2026

You are matching a washer hose, a lawn-mower pipe or a heater hose, and the packet says fuel line. Fuel line hose clips, in this comparison, can hold a small, cold, low-pressure hose you can measure. They are not a brake repair, not a seal on a hot cooling system, and not an automatic LPG fitting. The [hose clamps comparison](/hub/hand-tools/hose-clamps) keeps the prices. Peter F. used the listings, the review notes and UK guidance from Liquid Gas UK, on 23 October 2026. We did not pressure-test a fuel joint. What these listings mean by fuel

A title that lists petrol, diesel or household gas is a shopping description, not a pressure rating. The Bolatus 16–25 mm ten-pack names petrol and diesel in a highlight, and that remains a claim on the amazon.co.uk page. Willand Service Centre treats a worm-drive as weaker on a critical injection line, because the pull is uneven and the screw can cut the hose. A washer jet or a mower feed you can see, on a cold engine, is a different risk from a brake hose or a gas bottle.

Spring clips under about 10 mm

Tiugbjkgk, B0G1HDF31Y, is 150 double-ear spring clips at about £6.98, 30 each of 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 mm, in 65 manganese steel. You squeeze the ears with pliers. One buyer used them on washer-pump lines on a VW Caddy. Reviews say the 10 mm size misses many car fuel hoses. Use them on a washer or breather you have measured at 6–10 mm. For a larger hose, follow the hose clamp buying guide.

A worm-drive on a low-pressure hose

A worm-drive can hold a low-pressure rubber hose when the fitted diameter sits mid-range and you stop before the thread strips. Bolatus 22-piece reviews include a lawn-mower fuel line and say the screw strips if you torque it. Leryati has been used on a heater-matrix hose, and one clip in that file deformed on LPG. An injection hose with a break-off-head clip is not a random worm-drive from a 20-piece set. How to fit a jubilee clip is that stop rule.

LPG has its own clip rule

Liquid Gas UK says a vapour-phase LPG hose of 8 mm internal diameter or more, at up to 50 mbar, may use a crimp, a swage, or a worm-drive that is not overtightened. Below 8 mm internal diameter, or above 50 mbar, worm-drive clips shall not be used. One Leryati review says the clips deformed on an LPG hose. That report is not a substitute for the sheet. If the bottle, the regulator or the hose size is unclear, a Gas Safe engineer should fit it.

Brakes, hot coolant, and a professional

Replace a brake hose. HELLA's UK note is about inspection and proper assembly, not a shed clip. Do not open a hot radiator cap. A worm-drive can hold a firm rubber coolant hose you have measured. A silicone hose needs a measured T-bolt. A burst airline is a hazard, so an air-tool hose needs the tool maker's figure.

Common questions

Can the 6–10 mm spring clips go on a radiator hose?
They are too small. The Tiugbjkgk set is 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 mm only, and reviews say even the largest misses many car hoses. A radiator hose is a larger fitted diameter and wants a worm-drive or, if it is silicone, a measured T-bolt. Using the 10 mm spring because it is in the drawer will not reach around the hose.
Is a worm-drive assortment acceptable on a small lawn-mower fuel line?
A low-pressure mower hose you can measure, with the diameter in the middle of the clip's range, is the case reviewers describe for the Bolatus 22-piece set. Stop before the thread strips. It is a poor match for an injection hose that left the factory with a break-off-head clip. Check for a weep after you start the engine, with the engine cold when you fit the clip.
What does Liquid Gas UK say about a worm-drive clip on LPG hose?
For vapour-phase hose of at least 8 mm internal diameter, at up to 50 mbar, a crimp, a swage, or a worm-drive that is not overtightened may be used. Below 8 mm internal diameter, or above 50 mbar, the sheet says worm-drive clips shall not be used. Read the regulator and the hose, and use a crimp when the sheet points you there.
Why did a Leryati clip deform on an LPG hose in a review?
The review calls the clips cheap and flimsy and says they deformed when tightened on an LPG hose. The band is described as thin on household jobs as well. One report does not prove that every 304 clip fails on gas. It does show that this assortment is the wrong place to prove you can out-tighten a gas joint.
Can I clamp a brake hose with one of these packs?
Replace the brake hose. A jubilee clip, a spring clip or a T-bolt from this comparison is not a brake repair, including as a temporary bridge. HELLA's UK guidance is about inspection and proper assembly. If the hose is cracked, bulging or leaking, the car needs a new hose, not a band from a shed pack.
Should I change a coolant clip while the engine is hot?
Wait until the engine is cold. Opening a hot radiator cap can throw scalding coolant. Fit the clip with the hose fully home, behind the bead, and tight enough to seal without cutting the rubber. Check the joint again after the engine has warmed from cold. A silicone hose on boost is a T-bolt measurement, not a hot roadside tighten.
