Traeger grease bucket fit: match the spout on your pellet grill

Updated: 23 October 2026

A Traeger grease bucket fit is a match between the spout on your cooker and the pail under it, not a line that says the bucket fits most grills. You own a Traeger, a Pit Boss, or a similar pellet grill, the old bucket is cracked or missing, and the next listing reads as if any metal pail will do. It will not. Updated on 20 October 2026 from amazon.co.uk listings and Pit Boss UK. Charcoal pails are a different job, covered in the [grill bucket comparison](/hub/grills-and-barbecues/grill-bucket).

Find the spout before the brand

A side spout wants a hanging pail the tube can reach. A grill that drops fat through the barrel floor wants a keg or a pan. Riverside Garden Centre describes newer Ironwood and Timberline grills as using a larger grease-and-ash keg. Traeger's article for the Timberline 850 and 1300 describes a grease pan with a liner. It does not describe a hanging HDW152. If the guide for your serial shows a pan or a keg, buy that part. A shop page does not override that guide. If you are choosing between a drip pail and a charcoal bucket, the grill bucket buying guide separates those jobs first.

Pit Boss and Traeger sizes that are published

Pit Boss Grills UK publishes replacement bucket SKU 50070 at 12.7 cm tall by 12.7 cm in diameter, with no foil liners, and says it suits all Pit Boss models. Confirm your grill still uses a side bucket of that diameter. UK shops have listed the part at about £4.50 to £7.49. A 14.2 cm top is not the same object. Traeger's hanging bucket is HDW152. Beds BBQ has listed it at £15.99 for Pro and Ironwood models and also for the Timberline 850 and 1300. Waltboar's listing excludes Timberline and names Traeger 20, 22 and 34, the 575 and 780, and a Pit Boss Austin XL. If your support guide shows a grease pan, the hanging bucket is the wrong shape.

What the buckets in the comparison actually claim

The Oklahoma Joe's drip bucket was about £12.47, at 4.6 from 2,641 ratings, and states 2 quarts with no lid and no Traeger or Pit Boss model list. It is a weak match if you needed a named fit. Waltboar's TR1400ML was about £17.88, at 4.5 from four ratings, with a 14.2 cm top, 15 foil liners, and a Timberline exclusion. Foppla was about £15.65, at 5.0 from 16 ratings, about 14.3 cm across, with 15 liners and no lid. A 14.3 cm pail is not a stand-in for a Pit Boss bucket published at 12.7 cm. LuLobtg was about £12.99, with a lid, 12 liners and 500 ml, and no reviews. Half a litre fills during a fatty cook. Skip the BCOATH cup: UK reviewers called it tiny. If the fit is settled, use the best grill bucket page.

After it fits, keep the tube clear

A bucket that fits still fails when the tube is blocked. Traeger's UK cleaning note ties a blocked grease drain tube to a grease fire. Let the grease cool, tip it into something you can throw away, and do not pour it down the sink. Water on burning fat is the wrong response. Emptying steps are on the how to use a grill bucket page. Liners are optional. Pit Boss does not include them with SKU 50070. Waltboar and Foppla include 15 foil liners cut for their own pail, not for a 12.7 cm Pit Boss bucket. A BAC407 title is a fit claim, not proof of a Traeger spare.

Common questions

What size is the official Pit Boss grease bucket?
Pit Boss Grills UK states SKU 50070 at 12.7 cm tall by 12.7 cm in diameter, without liners. UK shops have listed it at about £4.50 to £7.49. Check that your grill still drains from a side spout. The all-models line does not cover a grill whose fat falls into a keg.
Does HDW152 fit a Timberline?
Sources disagree, so there is no single yes. Beds BBQ lists HDW152 for the Timberline 850 and 1300. Waltboar's listing excludes Timberline. Traeger's article describes a grease pan, not a hanging HDW152. If your support guide shows a pan, do not buy the hanging bucket.
Will a 14.2 cm copy fit a 12.7 cm Pit Boss bracket?
Not by diameter alone. The official Pit Boss bucket is 12.7 cm across. Waltboar states a 14.2 cm top and Foppla about 14.3 cm. That extra width might be a lip, or it might stop the pail seating. If SKU 50070 matches your model, buy that part.
What if my grill drains through the bottom into a keg?
Buy the keg or the pan, not a hanging pail. Riverside describes newer Ironwood and Timberline grills as using a larger grease-and-ash keg. Traeger's Timberline article describes a grease pan. If fat falls through the barrel floor, a side pail never sees it.
Do I need liners, and will Waltboar's 15 fit?
Only if you would rather bin foil than wash the pail. Pit Boss includes none with SKU 50070. Waltboar's 15 liners belong to a 14.2 cm top, so they are a poor bet in a 12.7 cm Pit Boss bucket. Buy liners cut for the bucket you already own.
What does a blocked drain tube do?
Traeger's UK cleaning note links a blocked grease drain tube to a grease fire. Empty cooled grease into something you can bin, not down the sink. Water is the wrong extinguisher if the grill is already alight. A new bucket does not clear a tube packed with old fat.
Is works with most grills enough?
No. The phrase skips your spout. Oklahoma Joe's states 2 quarts and no model list. LuLobtg claims a 1.6 inch square tube and had no reviews. BCOATH is about 3 inches across. Waltboar excludes Timberline while a UK shop page includes it. Match the published size and your serial's guide.
