Best hose reel cart with hose

Updated: 22 October 2026

You want one kit from this amazon.co.uk set, and a reason to leave the others. The best hose reel cart with hose in this comparison is the Hozelock open cart at £71.39 with 50 m of hose. The review file is 4.5 from 7,615. That is a top pick inside this set, from files captured on 19 October 2026, not a UK-wide lab result. It is also the best value here, because £71.39 for 50 m is about £1.43 a metre. The [hose reel cart with hose comparison](/hub/garden-watering/hose-reel-cart-with-hose) still shows all five. The pick and the condition

The open cart includes a 50 m hose, a connector set and wheels, and the title says the cart is assembled. Length and bore are set out on the hose reel cart with hose buying guide. The hose kinks, including for people who expected a kink-free hose at this price, and some call it thinner than an older Hozelock. Fittings sit inside the drum, so you unwind the coil once before you can connect the tap. If you will not do that first unwind, this pick is the wrong shortcut even with 7,615 reviews. It is for you if you have no hose you trust and you want about 50 m with a large review file. It is not for you if you need the Ultramax hose named on the box, or you already own a sound 12.5 mm hose. That fork is hose reel cart with hose or without. Argos lists an assembled Hozelock 50 m cart at £84 with 4.5 from 643 reviews on that page. Do not import those stars as the amazon.co.uk rating.

When Ultramax is the one to buy instead

The Ultramax cart is the pay-more alternative, not a second winner. It is £92.94, about £21 more, for 50 m of 12.5 mm Ultramax hose on a title that states a 60 m capacity. The line is 4.2 from 330 reviews. The title names a nozzle. The included-components line names the hose and a connector set and does not repeat that word. The hose is also called rigid, heavy and hard to rewind. The cart tips when the hose is drawn out. Coils spring up unless you keep the wind tight. The dimension field prints 13W millimetres, which is not a usable size, and the weight is 8.62 kg. Buy it when the named hose is the point and you can wind a stiffer coil. You pay more per metre, and you trade kinks for weight and tip-over.

Why the cheaper listings are not the value pick

A lower shelf price is not value when the review file is thin or led by failures. The Hozelock 2489 is £45.10 for a cart the title calls 45 m, with 25 m of hose and fittings that are not itemised. At about £1.80 a metre it is not cheaper per metre than the £71.39 cart. The Wurzberge cart is £53.09 with 30 m of rubber hose, a 2 m leader and a spray gun. The line is 3.3 from 32 reviews. The pattern that repeats is connectors that blow off, paper instructions that are wrong, wheels that snap, and a cart that tips. The Dekton listing is £32.95, with a 20 x 26 x 26 cm body ranked in hose parts. One review, 1.0 on 28 November 2025, says the hose kinks and the reel is not fit for purpose. One text is a signal, not a pattern.

What the pick still asks you to do

The top pick is not a hose already fitted and forgotten. Hozelock's FAQ for part 2435 says you still cut about 1.5 m from the included hose as the feeder, so working length is about 48.5 m. The Amazon title does not name a nozzle. The brand page for 2435 does. Amazon's material line says metal and plastic. Hozelock's 2435 page says plastic. A warranty sentence about a Philips monitor is an error. Hozelock states five years if you register. Owning the cart does not let you water through a temporary use ban. That limit is on the hosepipe ban page.

Common questions

Which kit has the strongest review base?
The Hozelock open cart at £71.39 with 50 m of hose. The amazon.co.uk line is 4.5 from 7,615 reviews. The Ultramax cart is 4.2 from 330. The 2489 has 20 reviews, the Wurzberge cart has 32, and the Dekton listing has one. Strongest means that count inside this set, not a laboratory ranking.
Who should pay £92.94 for Ultramax instead?
Pay it if you want the Ultramax hose named in the box and you can rewind a hose that reviews call rigid and heavy. The title states 50 m supplied and 60 m capacity, and it names a nozzle. Skip it if you wanted a lower price or a lighter wind. Tip-over while the hose is pulled is a repeated comment.
Is the £45 Hozelock a better-value pick?
No. The 2489 is £45.10 with 25 m of hose, and 3.6 from 20 reviews. The UK texts are led by hard assembly and broken plastic, and the hose kinks. Per metre of hose it is not cheaper than the £71.39 cart. Best value in this set stays on the open cart.
Is best a lab result?
No. Nobody here ran a flow test, a burst test or a season of trials. The top pick is the largest amazon.co.uk review file in the set, at the price captured on 19 October 2026, with the kink and fittings limits stated beside it. Argos stars are not added to that count.
What if I already own a hose?
Do not buy this kit only to gain a second hose. Empty carts were removed from this table. Your own hose should be 12.5 mm and shorter than the drum's stated capacity. If you have no hose you trust, the kit remains the pick. The feeder cut for 2435 is still about 1.5 m.
