The Trimetals Titan assembly sheet allows concrete about 100 mm thick, or slabs, and the base must be flat. If one corner sits high, pack or recast it first, because you cannot square a frame on a twist. Two people, gloves and a calm day come before the first screw. On the COZYBRITE 6 x 4 the roof edge is sharp and a flat driver cammed out of Phillips screws, so use a cordless driver with a matching bit.
The order that keeps it square
Keep the shell square by fixing the base frame before any wall goes up. Waltons' order is the base frame, then the diagonals, then the walls, the roof and the doors. Measure both diagonals with the same tape and nudge the corners until they match, or the frame is a parallelogram and every wall hole will miss. A panel turned over looks as if the holes were punched wrong. The roof goes on last, because a roof lifted in one piece is a sail. One COZYBRITE 8 x 6 review found the door wheels in the wrong half of the channel. Refit that wheel rather than drilling the uprights, and if the holes still miss you are into the faults below.
What the UK reviews actually fought
The hours in this set are a range, not a timetable. One COZYBRITE account is about four to five hours alone, another is seven hours, and a two men, three hours line on the COZYBRITE 8 x 6 is the short end of that spread. Peel the plastic film off shed panels before the lap is screwed, with gloves on, because YODOLLA film sticks and the COZYBRITE roof lip is sharp. Missing parts and a half-built return
Photograph missing parts while the shed is still a kit. Labels, the parts diagram and the piece that does not match are what a seller can read. The COZYBRITE 8 x 6 may arrive as three packages on different days, so a short count on day one can be a courier lag. Once every carton is open and a panel is duplicated, misshapen or absent, stop. How many people do I need to assemble a metal shed?
Two. Trimetals states two people, and Garden Universe 6 x 4 reviews say the same across a day or two, with gloves. One COZYBRITE was light enough to lift a panel alone, and one review quotes about four to five hours solo, which is not a promise. A second person still holds the wall while you drive the screw. A YODOLLA review took two people three days.
What tools beat the supplied screwdriver?
A cordless driver with a Phillips bit, a spirit level, a drill, gloves and a ladder. Waltons also lists a posi-drive and oil for the door track. On the COZYBRITE 6 x 4 the supplied driver was flat and the screws were Phillips, so the tip cammed out. Match the bit to the screw in the bag. A faster driver does not level a twisted base.
What if the metal shed holes do not line up?
Check the overlap and both diagonals before you drill. A sheet turned over looks like a bad hole pattern, and an out-of-square frame shifts every hole. A few new holes in the lap are normal once the panel is the right shape. If it is misshapen, as YODOLLA reviewers reported, stop. A few new holes are normal and a missing panel is not.
When should I photograph missing parts and stop?
As soon as the count is wrong or a panel will not match, and before you drill a run of new holes. Photograph the labels, the diagram and the part in daylight. The COZYBRITE 8 x 6 can ship in three cartons that arrive apart, so confirm the set is complete first. After that, the seller is the next step, not another evening.
Can I peg a metal shed to concrete?
Tent pegs failed on concrete for a YODOLLA reviewer, because a peg needs soil. Anchor bolts were useful on a COZYBRITE 6 x 4 slab. Trimetals lists Rawl bolts as not supplied, so do not assume your carton includes them. If you drill through a coating, treat the bare edge or you expose the steel. A peg on a patio will not hold the frame in a gust.
Can I send a built metal shed back?
Which? describes 30 days to reject unsatisfactory or not-as-described goods, then repair or replace, and after six months you may have to prove the fault. A half-built kit with photos is a clearer claim than a shell you have drilled. Heavy-item returns here apply over 23 kg or when any side is over 175 cm, and that is about the cartons. Stop while it is still a kit if the parts are wrong.
