How to choose a beer bench cover

Updated: 22 October 2026

You already own a folding beer table and two benches, and a search for a beer bench cover has dropped three products into one list. A white cloth set at about £13, a coated shell at about £31, and a printed sleeve all answer the same words. Decide the job first, then the size printed on that listing, then the price. The five listings, with prices captured on 19 October 2026, are on the [beer bench cover comparison](/hub/garden-furniture/beer-bench-cover). The Products Compared editorial team wrote this from those amazon.co.uk listings and public UK pages. A qualifying purchase through our links can earn us a commission at no extra cost to you.

Three covers share the name

A beer bench cover, in the way UK shops use the phrase, is not one object. A party slip set is one light cloth for the table and one for each bench, taken off when the plates are cleared. A weather shell is one coated cover over the standing set, pulled in at the hem. A printed sleeve dresses the bench only and is not in this five-listing grid. WedDecor and Trimming Shop are white 170 gsm sets at £13.29. Noor, at £12.60, is three printed pieces. YedZen at £30.99 and ANEELV at £32.71 are single shells. Treating the £13 set as a cheaper version of the £31 shell is the mistake this search invites. The contrast is on slipcover or weather cover.

What to read on the listing

Read four lines on that exact listing. Piece count tells you whether you are holding three cloths or one shell. A field can say waterproof while the bullets only mention spills, and a title can say waterproof while the specification says water resistant. Care does not travel from one listing to another. These party listings do not state a drawcord. WedDecor says washable up to 30°C in a bullet and hand wash only in the care field. Trimming Shop says machine wash at 30°C, with no second instruction. Noor says hand wash and machine wash, with no temperature. YedZen says wipe or rinse and air dry. ANEELV says wipe, on fully cooled furniture. None of these files shows a UKCA mark or a fire class.

Size comes before price

Length near 220 cm is only the length. The Range lists a folding set at 220 x 50 x 78 cm for the table and 220 x 25 x 47.5 cm for the benches. E-Wood Products offers table widths of 60, 70 or 80 cm on a set it still calls 220 cm. Both white sets print 220 x 50 x 70 cm for the table and 220 x 25 x 46 cm for the benches. Trimming Shop adds a bench about 48 cm high. On a shell, the middle number is the cover's width over the standing set, not the tabletop. YedZen states 230 x 130 x 75 cm. ANEELV's title says 220 x 120 x 75 cm and another field says 2.3 x 1.2 x 0.75 m. The worked check is on the 220 cm beer bench cover page.

When a dearer cover is a different product

A higher price is often a different product, not a better grade of the same cloth. Leekes lists an AeroCover at 220 x 110 x 70 cm for £99.99, a table cover, not one of these five listings. vidaXL.co.uk sells a stretch set, washable at 40°C, with a 40 cm bench note, at about £23.20. That is still a party slipcover. If the listing's own size was wrong, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 is about goods that match the description. A size you never measured is not the same complaint. A seller's 5000 mm line stays the advertiser's claim. Fitting steps are on how to fit a beer bench cover.

Common questions

Do I need one cover or three pieces?
You need three pieces when the job is to dress the table and both benches for a party, which is how WedDecor, Trimming Shop and Noor are listed. You need one shell when the standing set stays outside, which is how YedZen and ANEELV are listed. A printed sleeve covers the bench only.
Is the white cloth a rain cover?
The white 170 gsm sets are party cloths. Trimming Shop does not claim a water rating. WedDecor's field says waterproof, while the bullets talk about spills and stains and give no millimetre figure. If the set stays out in autumn, start from the shell listings.
What do I measure before I order?
Measure the table length, the table width and the bench height. If you are buying a shell, also measure the standing footprint from the outside of one bench to the outside of the other, and the height of the covered shape. Do not add the component widths and treat the sum as proof that a shell will fit.
Can every polyester set go in the machine at 30°C?
No. Trimming Shop states machine wash at 30°C. WedDecor states both 30°C in a bullet and hand wash only in the care field. Noor states hand wash and machine wash with no temperature. The shells say wipe, not a machine cycle.
What if the cover is the wrong size?
If the listing described a size the cloth does not match, you are in the description rules of the Consumer Rights Act 2015, and GOV.UK sets out the usual short window for rejecting faulty goods. If you ordered 220 cm without measuring width and height, the cover can be as described and still not fit.
