Best mini chainsaw UK

Updated: 22 October 2026

You have a magazine best-buy in one tab and a £30 amazon.co.uk kit in the other, and both say mini chainsaw. They are not the same test. The best mini chainsaw UK, if you want a named garden pruner, is a different product from the best-supported kit on this shelf. The [one-handed chainsaw comparison](/hub/forestry-tools/one-handed-chainsaw) holds the prices and review counts. Peter F. scored those amazon.co.uk listings and public UK sources, and did not lab-test the saws. A qualifying purchase can earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

Best for a named garden pruner, outside this set

If you want the saw UK round-ups actually tested, leave this amazon set. Gardeners' World's January 2026 update names the Stihl GTA 26 as its best buy, at 4.9/5 in that review, with a bar of about 10 cm. The Husqvarna Aspire and the Webb sit on the same table. None of those models is an ASIN here. Stihl UK lists the GTA 26 tool-only at £119 including VAT, both hands required, rated 11 V, maximum 12 V. Gardeners' World RRPs for this class run about £90–£180. Those tests did not include the kits below. A 4.5 star line is not a magazine score. The checklist is the one-handed chainsaw buying guide.

Best-supported kits in this set

For a longer garden afternoon, the evidence sits with the 6 inch kits that have thousands of reviews. The Seesii CH700R is the top pick: about £49.99 with 4.5 from 9,284 reviews, the largest count here. The box lists two 4,000 mAh batteries, a case, an auxiliary handle, one spare chain, and a press oiler whose bottle is empty. Reviewers still mention tension after the first cuts. The brushless Supstable 6C28S is next: about £50.06, 4.4 from 5,330 reviews, two 3,000 mAh packs, a case, and an automatic oiler with an empty bottle. The pole is not included. Some review text matches the other Supstable file, so do not add 5,330 to 5,321. If you want two bar lengths, the Seesii M8 Boost at about £59.99 fits an 8 inch bar and includes a 6 inch set. Oil and the lock are not in the extracted bullets. Take it for the second bar.

When the cheap saw or the kit is the wrong saving

The lowest price is not the best value. The Rivlox is about £28.48 with 3.8 from 9 reviews, including a chain that will not stay on and a drive described as failed. Angseen's SKU002010 at about £33.99, 4.4 from 2,512 reviews, is the best value: two 2.0 Ah packs. The oil fill is not stated, and the box is a gift box. That saving suits a few shrubs, not every weekend if you want a case in the included list. Angseen's SY-LT05 is one 2,000 mAh pack and three chains. Three chains do not replace a second battery. The Seesii shears combo at about £94.99 shares two smaller packs between a saw and shears. Buy it for the shears. The Newbeny pole kit is about £114.99 with 9 reviews. Skip it if you only wanted a pistol saw.

Who should not buy a mini chainsaw

Skip every saw here if the job is the tree rather than a branch you can reach from the lawn. Felling, a hung-up stem, crown work, and anything over a road or a power line need a rear-handled saw and, where it is a job, the certificate in INDG317 unless you are supervised. Domestic work in your own garden sits outside PUWER. A few clean cuts belong with a pruning saw. That fork is mini chainsaw vs pruning saw. Come back to the CH700R when the same green wood keeps returning, or to the Angseen when the sessions stay short. Nine reviews are not a Saturday you can plan.

Common questions

What is the best mini chainsaw for a small garden?
For a few shrubs you can reach from the ground, Angseen's SKU002010 at about £33.99 is the best value: two 2.0 Ah packs and 4.4 from 2,512 reviews. Reviewers treat it as occasional pruning. For a longer afternoon, the Seesii CH700R at about £49.99 is the top pick, with two 4,000 mAh packs, a case, and 9,284 reviews, and an empty oil bottle. Neither is the Stihl GTA 26, which is £119 tool-only and outside this set.
Is the Stihl GTA 26 in this comparison?
No. Stihl UK sells it tool-only at £119 including VAT, with a 10 cm bar, both hands, and about 25 minutes or 70 cuts of 4 cm branches on an AS 2 battery. Gardeners' World and the Telegraph name it in their own tests. Those tests did not include Seesii, Supstable, Angseen, SINPY, Bluebow, Rivlox, or Newbeny. A set on amazon.co.uk can cost more than the bare tool. Do not copy Stihl's noise figures onto these kits.
Which listing has the most UK reviews?
The Seesii CH700R, at 4.5 from 9,284 reviews, listed at about £49.99. The Supstable files show 5,330 and 5,321, but they share some review text, so do not add those totals. Angseen's SKU002010 has 2,512. The Rivlox and the Newbeny have 9 each. A large count is a better signal than a handful of reviews. It still does not measure kickback or a full oil tank.
Is the cheapest saw the best value?
Not here. The Rivlox is about £28.48 and 3.8 from 9 reviews, with chain and drive failures in that small file. The low price with a deep sample is Angseen's SKU002010 at about £33.99 and 4.4 from 2,512 reviews, which is the best value in this set. You still get an unstated oil fill and a gift box rather than a case. A saving counts when you can read a real review history before you rely on the chain.
When is the 8 inch bar the better pick?
When you want a longer bar and a shorter one in one box. The Seesii M8 Boost at about £59.99 ships the 8 inch bar fitted and a 6 inch set as well, plus two 4,000 mAh packs. Oil and the lock are missing from the extracted bullets, and the reviews overlap the shears combo. Use it for ground-level limbs that feel slow on 6 inches. It is not a felling saw, and one thick-log review is not a method.
Who should skip every saw here?
Skip them for felling, a hung-up stem, crown work, or a branch over a road or a power line. Paid work on or in a tree expects the certificate INDG317 describes, unless you are supervised. Also skip the class for a couple of cuts a pruning saw would finish. The Newbeny is not a way around that. It is a pole kit at about £114.99 with nine reviews. More stars, on their own, do not mean a safer saw.
