Peel and stick vinyl vs click flooring

Updated: 16.10.2026

You are looking at a wood-effect picture and trying to decide whether to stick a pack down or click a floor together. Peel and stick vinyl vs click flooring is three products, not one vinyl with three prices. The seven amazon.co.uk packs in this set are all peel-and-stick skins. Click, rigid-core SPC, and glue-down luxury vinyl tile are other floors. The seven cards are the [vinyl tiles comparison](/hub/flooring/vinyl-tiles). Products Compared did not install a click floor or a glue-down floor for this page. Shop prices below are that shop’s figures, dated 16 October 2026.

Three lay methods, not one vinyl

Peel-and-stick is a tile or plank with adhesive already on the back, pressed onto a floor that is clean, dry, and smooth. Flooring Hut treats glue-down as the contract method and click as the DIY floating floor. Every pack in this set is peel-and-stick. None has a click edge or a printed use class. Click luxury vinyl locks and floats. Lifestyle Floors calls the glued version dryback and the floating version 5G click, and says click is not for a hot conservatory unless it is stuck down. SPC is the rigid-core float. Flooring Direct calls it more forgiving on an uneven subfloor. Glue-down luxury vinyl is bonded down. Tapi lists Karndean Van Gogh glue-down from £44.99 per square metre, supply only, with fitting from £17.50. The same name also appears on a rigid-core click.

What you can measure on these packs

Measure total thickness only where it is printed, and do not pretend it is a wear layer. The thickest stated total here is CYEER at 1.3 mm. Elffloor prints 0.5 mm on the oak planks and 0.7 mm on the squares, which also print 0.1 cm. Daphne and DIY Doctor print no thickness. None of the seven prints a wear layer. Polyflor Camaro, not in this set, is sold at 2.0 mm with about 0.3 mm of wear layer. How to read a blank is on the vinyl floor tiles buying guide. DIY Doctor states 5.02 m², Elffloor oak 1.35 m², and Daphne 10 square feet. CYEER prints no coverage. Put a click quote next to a sticker only where the sticker states an area.

The price is a different product

Where this set prints square metres, the rate runs from about £9.96 on DIY Doctor to about £24.98 on the small Elffloor squares. Flooring Direct’s £13 to £15 band is that shop’s click and glue-down range, not a price for these seven packs. Tapi’s Karndean Van Gogh glue-down starts at £44.99 per square metre, supply only, with fitting from £17.50. You are paying for a classified floor, not a markup on the same tile. Reviews here run from edges that lift in days to a hall still down after six months.

Removal and heat are not interchangeable

A click floor is designed to be lifted. A sticker is not one answer. Medina says permanent. Daphne says reusable and permanent. CYEER claims removal without residue. Reviews describe lifting and extra glue. If the listing contradicts itself, you do not have a hand-back in writing. Wickes says soft self-adhesive tiles are not usually for underfloor heating. That is the line for this set. Lifestyle Floors says to stick a click floor down in a hot conservatory.

Choose the family, then the pack

Choose the sticker for a small cover this weekend on a floor that is already flat, clean, and dry, if you can accept a blank wear layer. Choose click or SPC when you want a floor you can lift. Choose glue-down when you are ready for the £44.99 supply band plus fitting. A wet room or a kitchen for the next decade is the wrong job for these packs.

Common questions

Is a peel-and-stick tile a type of click flooring?
No. Click flooring locks together and floats. Peel-and-stick is pressed onto the floor with adhesive on the back. All seven packs here are peel-and-stick. None shows a click edge. An amazon title that says vinyl tiles has not turned a 0.5 mm roll into a click plank.
Why is glue-down LVT several times the price per square metre?
Because it is a different product. Tapi lists Karndean Van Gogh glue-down from £44.99 per square metre, supply only, plus fitting. Stickers that print an area here sit around £10 to £25 per square metre, with no wear layer. It is not the same tile at two prices.
What is SPC, in one paragraph?
SPC is a rigid-core vinyl board, usually clicked as a floating floor. Flooring Direct calls it more forgiving than glue-down on an uneven subfloor. It is still not peel-and-stick. This page does not quote an SPC thickness. Ask the seller for the wear layer and the use class.
Will peel-and-stick come up again the way a click floor can?
A click floor lifts as a locked floor. A sticker follows whatever the adhesive line says, and those lines disagree: Medina says permanent, CYEER claims removal without residue, and Daphne says both reusable and permanent. Reviews report lifting and extra glue. Do not plan a hand-back on a claim the same page contradicts.
Are these seven packs in the £44.99 Karndean band?
No. Printed rates here, where an area is stated, run from about £9.96 to about £24.98 per square metre. The £44.99 figure is Tapi’s supply price for Karndean Van Gogh glue-down planks, before fitting. A rigid-core board under the same name is not one of these ASINs.
