Vinyl floor tiles buying guide

Updated: 16.10.2026

You are on amazon.co.uk with a wood or marble picture in the basket, and the pack price looks like a finished floor. A vinyl floor tiles buying guide for this set starts plainer: all seven packs are peel-and-stick, and none prints a wear layer or a use class. Read a stated area, leave a blank as a blank, and tell a thin sticker from a classified floor. Prices and the seven cards sit on the [vinyl tiles comparison](/hub/flooring/vinyl-tiles). The listings were read on 16 October 2026. The tiles were not laid.

Peel-and-stick is not classified LVT

Peel-and-stick in this set is a vinyl face with its own adhesive. Luxury vinyl tile is a classified floor with a stated wear layer and a use class, laid by glue or as a click floor. Medina is titled WallPops and is still a ten-tile sticker. On the black CYEER card the backing field says foam or fabric and a bullet says carpet tiles, while the grey card’s backing field says vinyl. Where these packs print an area, the rate is roughly £10 to £25 per square metre. Tapi lists Karndean Van Gogh glue-down from £44.99 per square metre, supply only. That family is peel and stick vinyl versus click flooring.

Read coverage before the pack price

The till price is what you pay for the carton. The rate that matters is that price divided by the area the listing actually prints. DIY Doctor states 5.02 m² at £49.99, about £9.96 per square metre. Elffloor grey oak states 1.35 m² at £18.99, about £14.07 per square metre. Elffloor’s black and white squares state 0.4 m² at £9.99, about £24.98 per square metre, so the cheapest carton is the dearest metre. Daphne states 10 square feet at £14.00, about 0.93 m² if you convert it, and that rate is a conversion. CYEER does not print coverage. Leave CYEER and Medina as coverage not printed. Buy the boxes together, because a later box can be a different shade.

Total thickness is not a wear layer

A millimetre on the bullet is total thickness, not a wear layer and not a use class. Elffloor oak prints 0.5 mm. The 20 cm squares print 0.7 mm and also 0.1 cm. Both CYEER packs print 1.3 mm. Daphne and DIY Doctor print no thickness. Medina’s 0.06 in bullet does not match the centimetre lines on the same page. ISO 10874 class 23 is heavy domestic and class 31 is moderate commercial. None of these seven prints a class. Flooring Direct’s Allona ECO cement-grey, a different peel-and-stick, lists 2 mm and a 0.10 mm wear layer. Those figures stay on that product.

What to do with a conflicting or empty field

If two lines disagree, keep both and do not pick the thicker one. CYEER’s missing coverage stays missing after you multiply 40 by 0.09. A blank wear layer stays blank on every ASIN here. A printed area can be enough for a small cover on a floor that is already flat. An empty class means a kitchen you want to keep is the wrong job for this set. Daphne’s reusability field says reusable and the materials line says permanent adhesive. A waterproof sentence is the same kind of line. It is not a slip value.

When the pack is the wrong family

If the listing prints an area and you only need a short cover on a flat floor, read that area and leave every blank as not stated. If you need a wear layer, a use class, or a price you are comparing with glue-down luxury vinyl around £45 per square metre supply only, this set is a different purchase, even when the photograph looks alike.

Common questions

Is peel-and-stick the same as luxury vinyl tile?
Not in this set. These seven packs are peel-and-stick vinyl with no printed wear layer and no ISO 10874 class. Classified luxury vinyl tile is sold with those lines, such as Karndean Van Gogh glue-down from £44.99 per square metre supply only at Tapi. A wood picture does not close that gap.
What should a listing print for thickness and wear layer?
A total thickness and a separate wear-layer thickness, each in millimetres, plus the pack area. Elffloor oak prints 0.5 mm and no wear layer. Flooring Direct’s ECO cement-grey, a different tile, prints 2 mm and 0.10 mm. If the wear layer is absent, write not stated.
How do I turn a pack price into a price per square metre?
Divide the shelf price by the area the listing prints in square metres. DIY Doctor is £49.99 on 5.02 m², about £9.96 per square metre. If the listing prints square feet, label the result as a conversion: Daphne’s 10 square feet are about 0.93 m². Do not divide by an area the page left blank.
What is ISO 10874 class 23, and why is a blank class a problem?
Class 23 means heavy domestic use. Class 31 means moderate commercial use. The class is about intensity, not millimetres of wear layer. A blank class means the listing has not said which duty the floor is for. Do not copy it from a different tile.
When is the pack the wrong product family altogether?
When you need a printed wear layer, a use class, or a price you are comparing with glue-down luxury vinyl around £45 per square metre supply only. A 0.5 mm roll can still be a weekend cover. It is not the same purchase as a classified floor.
