Stove pipe for an electric stove

Updated: October 2026

The electric stove is in place, the fake logs glow, and the top looks unfinished without a black pipe. A stove pipe for an electric stove, in this amazon.co.uk set, is a plastic shape that stands or slots on the fire. It is there for the wood-burner look. It is the wrong object to carry smoke. This page stays with the three plastic listings. All twelve products, including the pipes you should leave, are on our [stove pipe comparison](/hub/fireplaces-and-stoves/stove-pipe). We read the Dimplex and Adam listings on 15 October 2026 and did not run a melt test. A qualifying purchase can earn us a commission at no extra cost to you.

What an electric stove pipe is

These three pipes are matt black plastic. Dimplex, at about £35, assembles to 456 mm or 516 mm. The Adam angled pipe, at about £25.96, arrives in one piece. The Adam straight pipe, at about £26.50, is also fully assembled. None is sold as a connecting flue. The listings say electric stoves, or electric fires, and they stop there. Measure the top, pick the shape that sits there, and do not seal a joint with fire cement. If you are unsure whether you wanted this look or a real connector, the fork is on our stove flue pipe buying guide.

Dimplex or Adam in this set

Dimplex STP001 weighs 1.2 kg and offers 456 mm or 516 mm, with two end caps, an elbow, and a straight section. It scores 4.6 from 735 reviews. Buyers praise it on Dimplex stoves including the Grand Rouge, Beckley, Stockbridge, and Club. A visible gap at the elbow comes up often. The Adam angled pipe is the best value here, at about £25.96, with 4.5 from 660 reviews. It measures 260 x 120 x 205 mm, weighs 760 g, and arrives fully assembled, with no second height. Keep Dimplex if you need 456 mm or 516 mm. The straight Adam pipe, about £26.50, with 4.4 from 334 reviews, is listed at 385 x 132 x 132 mm. One review says the quoted dimension is not the main pipe, so measure it on arrival.

Fit, cutting, and fixing

Dimplex slots together and stands on the stove. The listing does not include fixing tape. One UK review says it can be cut with a fine-tooth saw. The listing does not promise that. A reviewer who measured about 5 inches against a 6 or 7 inch groove was commenting, not stating a flue size. The angled Adam pipe rests unless you add an adhesive. The straight Adam pipe is where UK reviews describe a hacksaw, and one buyer found the cut hard. One return cited a melt worry. No melt test was recorded, so this page does not confirm or dismiss it.

Keep it off a real stove

The Amazon bullets for these three pipes say electric only. A wood burner, a multi-fuel stove, or a bioethanol flame is outside that sentence. Bioethanol is a real flame even though it is not a log fire. The British Flue and Chimney Manufacturers Association limits plastic flues to low-temperature condensing appliances. Approved Document J, paragraph 1.41, allows plastic flue systems only where they are designated for that appliance, for example some condensing boilers. If the appliance burns fuel, leave these three and start again with a pipe the stove manual and the building rules both allow. How a real flue joint is sealed is on our how to install stove pipe page.

Common questions

Will a Dimplex pipe fit a non-Dimplex electric stove?
The listing says electric stoves and freestanding fires. Reviews praise it on Dimplex models such as the Grand Rouge, Beckley, Stockbridge, and Club. It does not promise every brand. One reviewer measured about 5 inches against a groove they put at 6 or 7 inches, and that figure is a comment. If neither 456 mm nor 516 mm sits in your groove, the two stated heights do not fit.
Can I cut it to length?
The listings do not promise cutting. One UK review says the Dimplex pipe can be cut with a fine-tooth saw. UK reviews of the straight Adam pipe describe a hacksaw, and one buyer found the cut hard. Treat a saw as a workaround you choose, not as a feature. The angled Adam pipe is sold as one fixed size. Measure before you order if you cannot afford to lose that shape.
Why does it cost this much if it is plastic?
You are paying for the look and the stated size. On Dimplex that includes two heights, end caps, an elbow, and a straight section, at about £35, against about £25.96 and £26.50 for the Adam pipes. Buyers do complain about £35 for plastic. The steel 5 inch length in the wider set is about £29.99, a similar sum for a wood-stove connector, not a cheaper version of this part.
Can I put it on a wood burner or a bioethanol stove?
The Amazon text for these three pipes says electric only. A wood burner is outside that line. A bioethanol stove has a real flame, and this page does not treat it as an electric fire just because it is not logs. Plastic flue systems in UK guidance are for low-temperature appliances that designate them, such as some condensing boilers. These decorative pipes do not carry that designation for solid fuel.
How do I stop it falling off?
Dimplex slots together and stands on the stove. The angled Adam pipe has no fixing tape in the listing, so it rests unless you add an adhesive. Reviews that mention little wobble are about that one-piece shape, not a bracket in the box. A Dimplex assembly at 1.2 kg and up to 516 mm can still be knocked. None of the three listings describes a screw fixing.
