Beko silicone buying guide

Updated: 23 October 2026

You have a brown window bead, a white bath joint and a clear gap beside a worktop, and every result says Beko silicone. This buying guide splits the amazon.co.uk set by range before you choose a colour: Pro4 (family 224), PSS sanitary (225), food line 22701, and fire line 22803. Prices from the listings on 19 October 2026 run from about £14.90 to £29.99. The [Beko silicone comparison](/hub/fillers-adhesives-and-sprays/beko-silicone) holds the ASIN table, the scores and who each cartridge is for. Peter F., DIY and tools editor, used those listings and the maker’s public sheets, not a lab test. A qualifying purchase can earn us a commission at no extra cost to you.

Four Beko ranges, not one tube

Beko Group cartridges are trade sealants, not the rubber gasket in a Beko washing machine or fridge. Pro4 Premium is the neutral all-rounder. Brown, silver grey and walnut are 310 ml at £14.99, for door, plastic, window and wood. The manufacturer describes Pro4 as fungicidal, with about 25% movement, and says it is not paintable and should not meet tar or bitumen. Beko’s pages disagree on tensile strength, quoting 0.6 or 1.6 N/mm², and on the upper temperature, about +180 °C or about +220 °C. PSS Premium is the sanitary specialist. White and pergamon are both £29.99. The German PSS page calls it acetate-curing, fungicidal, shower-proof after about two hours, and EN 15651-3 class XS1. Those lines are not on the Amazon titles. Food line 22701 is transparent, acetate-curing and £15.80, and the listing cites Regulation 1935/2004. Fire line 22803 is grey, neutral-curing and £21.95. The bullets cite DIN 4102 class B1, which is not UK fire-stopping approval under Approved Document B.

Neutral or acetoxy

Neutral cure, which the UK Pro4 page describes as pentanone oxime, is the safer default on many plastics, metals and natural stones. Acetoxy cure, which PSS and the food line use, releases acetic acid while it skins. You smell vinegar. GOV.UK treats household-level acetic acid as an irritant, so you ventilate, and you keep acetoxy off galvanised steel, copper, brass and many stones. The food leaflet bars galvanised and non-ferrous metals, so that cartridge can be right for a cured food joint and wrong for coated metal beside it. Pro4’s no-fringe-discolouration claim is aimed at natural stone, and you still test an offcut. Glazed ceramic can take acetoxy, which is why PSS exists. Acrylic baths are the exception Beko calls out for primer. When the colour on the title cannot be wrong, the best Beko silicone page names the listing to leave on the shelf.

What the label codes do and do not prove

About 25% movement is roughly a quarter of the joint width. A 10 mm joint is designed around about 2.5 mm of stretch, not a gap you stuff until it looks full. Wider than the sheet, the bead cures more slowly and pulls on three faces without a backer rod. BS EN 15651-3 excludes food contact, drinking water and underwater use. XS1, on the PSS page, means low shrinkage plus the highest mould class in that scheme. It does not keep a joint white if the extractor never runs. EMICODE EC 1 Plus, claimed for Pro4 and PSS, is an emission label, not a waterproofing score. Regulation 1935/2004 Article 3, as assimilated in Great Britain, says food-contact materials should not transfer constituents that endanger health or change the food. The Food Standards Agency’s authorisation lists have no silicone-sealant positive list. A cartridge sentence is not a Declaration of Compliance. DIN 4102 B1 is a German reaction-to-fire class. The February 2023 leaflet mentions EN 13501-2 EI 240 only for a joint at most 15 mm wide and 10 mm deep.

What to buy in this amazon.co.uk set

Pro4 sits at £14.90 to £14.99, the food line at £15.80, the fire line at £21.95 and PSS at £29.99. Promain has listed Pro4 as discontinued while the manufacturer page still lists it. Treat that as one merchant’s stock note. Medium brown, silver grey and walnut have no star line, each at £14.99, so you are buying the 224 colour code. PSS white shows 4.5 from 13 ratings and pergamon 3.7 from two. The food line’s 4.6 from 384 is the strongest star line, and it is still not a shower sealant. Match the range, then the colour code, then the date on the cartridge. A bath joint starts on the bathroom guide. A worktop or cold-room gap belongs on the food-safe page.

Common questions

Is Beko silicone the same as a Beko washing-machine seal?
No. These cartridges come from Beko Group, the sealant maker. A Beko appliance gasket is a shaped rubber part. A 310 ml tube will not clip into a washing-machine door or replace a fridge gasket profile.
Should I buy Pro4 or PSS for a bath?
PSS is the sanitary specialist Beko places next to plumbing joints, at £29.99 in this set, with an acetate cure on the maker’s sheet. Pro4 is the neutral alternative at about £15 when the surround is acrylic, metal or stone. Neither Amazon listing repeats the full PSS sheet.
Will the food cartridge do a shower?
The food line is transparent and cheaper than PSS, at £15.80, but the leaflet says it is not fungicidal. A clear bead in a shower is how mould gets a head start. Use it for a cured food-area joint, and keep sanitary work on PSS or a fungicidal Pro4.
What does 25% movement mean for the joint width?
The cured seal can cope with movement of about a quarter of the joint width. A 10 mm joint is designed around roughly 2.5 mm of stretch or squeeze, not around stuffing a wide gap until it looks full. Wider than the sheet, the bead cures slowly and tears if it sticks to the back as well as the two sides.
Is the black Amazon title actually black?
Do not assume so. Reviewers of that £14.90 listing describe white, glitter, metallic and a bead that shifted to aluminium-silver, and the manufacturer field reads Cut360 UG. If the joint has to be black, this is the listing to avoid.
