GPS key ring buying guide

Updated: 23 October 2026

You are standing in a hallway with keys, or packing a bag, and the amazon.co.uk title says GPS key ring. In this set of twelve listings that title is a Bluetooth tag. The phone rings it nearby, and other phones on the same network may report a last seen place later. Which? states that AirTags and similar tags have no GPS chip and no mobile-data connection. Decide in this order: the phone you carry, the item you want to find, then the cell the listing uses. Prices from £7.99 to £34.99 sit on the main [GPS key ring](/hub/electronic-surveillance/gps-key-ring) comparison.

What a GPS key ring is on this shelf

Close by, your phone plays a sound on the tag. Farther away, the map shows the last time another phone on that network passed it. The twelve amazon.co.uk listings from 19 October 2026 use four networks. Find My: AirTag at £29.00, UGREEN FineTrack at £7.99, ATUVOS four-pack at £23.99. SmartThings Find: Galaxy SmartTag2 at £16.80. Life360: Tile Mate T1801A, black and white, both £16.99. HH-Tech, KZO, both aowoka packs, and both MiLi packs join Find My or Google Find Hub one registration at a time. Products Compared used those listings and Which?’s guide. We did not run a lab test.

Match the phone first

An iPhone that wants the nearby arrow starts with AirTag (2nd generation) at £29.00. That saved listing has no review line, and the bullets omit a holder. UGREEN FineTrack, 4.3 from 11,649 reviews, is the cheap Find My tag. ATUVOS at £23.99 is four iOS-only tags. Neither claims Ultra Wideband. A Galaxy starts with SmartTag2 at £16.80, 4.4 from 22,659 reviews. It is the top pick here for a Galaxy owner, with a replaceable CR2032 and IP67. Other Android phones with Google services start on Find Hub, one phone at a time. A tag both an iPhone and an Android phone must see starts with Tile Mate. HH-Tech, KZO, aowoka, and MiLi need a reset to change phones. Picks are on the best GPS key ring page. The pair alone is AirTag vs Tile.

Cell, water words, and attachment

Shop a replaceable CR2032 where one type is named: SmartTag2, UGREEN, MiTag Duo, and, on Apple’s UK page rather than this amazon snapshot, the AirTag. Tile Mate T1801A is sealed for a claimed three years. Ignore AAA, C, and 9V. aowoka F2-2 bullets say CR2032 while the details say AAA. HH-Tech’s details say a C cell and a review says CR2032. KZO’s details say 9V and a review says CR2032. Ignore “up to 10 years” on the F2-2. IP67 is a lab limit: Apple describes AirTag as 1 metre for up to 30 minutes, and Samsung says to keep SmartTag2 out of the pool. Both Tiles and the UGREEN print no IP rating. AirTag’s bullets omit a holder. UGREEN’s magnet mount draws complaints about the string.

When to walk away

These tags update only when a phone on that network comes close. Police.uk warns that a tag in a bag, pocket, or car can be used to stalk someone. Section 2A of the Protection from Harassment Act 1997 is the summary stalking offence. If you feel unsafe, contact the police. Hampshire Constabulary says that in a domestic abuse situation it can be safer to leave the tag until you have advice. Keep coin cells away from children. About £8 to £17 buys one UGREEN, Tile Mate, or SmartTag2. £29 is one AirTag before the holder. A 3.8 from 381 on the MiTag Duo is a weak average from a real sample. A 5.0 from two LiTag reviews is not a quality verdict.

Common questions

Which tag if the phone is an iPhone, a Galaxy, or another Android?
An iPhone that needs the nearby arrow starts with AirTag (2nd generation) at £29.00, holder extra. An iPhone that only needs Find My can use UGREEN FineTrack at £7.99 or the ATUVOS four-pack at £23.99. A Galaxy starts with SmartTag2 at £16.80. Another Android phone with Google services starts with a Find Hub registration on one of the dual-system tags.
Can one dual-system tag serve two phones at once?
HH-Tech, KZO, both aowoka packs, and both MiLi packs join Apple Find My or Google Find Hub one registration at a time. You reset the tag to move it. If one person has an iPhone and another has Android and both must see the same tag, the listing in this set that says both families is Tile Mate on Life360.
What should you ignore on the battery line?
Ignore AAA, C, and 9V. Those lines appear on aowoka, HH-Tech, and KZO details and clash with CR2032 wording elsewhere on the same pages or in a review. Also ignore “up to 10 years” on the aowoka F2-2. Tile’s three-year lithium is sealed because the page does not say you can replace it.
When is a cheap Find My tag enough, and when is AirTag the point?
A cheap Find My tag is enough when you want a ring and a last seen pin on an iPhone, which is UGREEN at £7.99 with 4.3 from 11,649 reviews and no IP rating. AirTag is the point when you want Precision Finding on a recent iPhone, and you accept £29.00 plus a holder. The AirTag saved listing has no star line.
Why is this the wrong product for a child, a pet, or a car with nobody nearby?
The tag only updates when a phone on its network is close, and MiLi says the MiTag is not for a person or a pet. A car with no phone nearby has nothing to report a position. Google’s Find Hub help also says tracker tags are not for pets or stolen items.
Does IP67 mean you can swim with it?
IP67 is a lab limit for dust and brief immersion. Apple’s AirTag figure is 1 metre for up to 30 minutes. Samsung says to keep SmartTag2 out of the pool. Tile and UGREEN state no IP rating.
