Best Jung switch in this set, by the job on the wall

Updated: October 2026

You already know whether you need a grey surface point, the middle of three switches, or two rockers on one flush insert. The star lines will not make that choice for you: 4.8, 4.8 and 4.6 sit too close together, and none of them prints the circuit. Best, on this page, means best for one named job inside three amazon.co.uk ASINs only: B000ONPJCW, B000ONP7UQ and B000ONP7ZQ. There is no catalogue-wide winner. If the job is still fuzzy, start with the [Jung switch buying guide](/hub/electrical-equipment/jung-switch/sub/jung-switch-buying-guide). The full rows sit on the [Jung switch comparison](/hub/electrical-equipment/jung-switch).

No single best Jung switch in this set

A single winner would pretend these three parts do the same work. They do not. The 606 W is a complete grey surface two-way. The 507 U is an intermediate flush insert. The 509 U is two two-way mechanisms on one insert. Picking the highest star rating would crown two products at once, both at 4.8, and would still tell you nothing about a landing with three positions. One 606 W review is marked United Kingdom. Treat the stars as a listing figure, not as a lab result. The shelf prices are £12.60, £14.97 and £22.75.

Best here for a complete grey surface two-way

For a grey surface two-way in a garage, cellar, loft or utility room, the row in this set is B000ONPJCW, the Jung 606 W, at £12.60. The listing says 2-way, IP44 and 250 V, and the star line is 4.8 from 158 ratings. The one UK-marked review describes a utility-room swap after 15 years on the previous mechanism. Skip this row if you need a flush plate or a separate rocker face. Jung dates the 606 W as discontinued on 31 August 2027, with successor 806 W, which is not an ASIN here. One review says the rocker face broke and is not sold on its own. The detail sits on the Jung surface switch page.

Best here for the middle switch

For the middle of three switches on one light, the only row in this set is B000ONP7UQ, the Jung 507 U, at £14.97. Jung's UK page calls it a 1-gang intermediate insert. Amazon's current cell is empty, so do not paste the 509 U's 10 A onto it. The listing is 4.8 from 236 ratings. One review says a Kreuzschalter is what you need when three switches control one light. Skip it if you need two rockers, a surface housing, or a cover in the same parcel. The listing does not state a frame or a rocker, and one unit arrived with a torn-out terminal. If you are still counting positions, use intermediate switch or two way.

Best here for two two-way mechanisms

For two two-way mechanisms on one flush insert, the row is B000ONP7ZQ, the Jung 509 U, at £22.75. The amazon.co.uk title says double change. The listing states 10 A at 250 V, screw terminals and IP20, and it is 4.6 from 254 ratings. Jung's version line is 2 x 1-pole 2-way, not an intermediate. Follow that line when Amazon says 1-way. Skip it if you need the middle of three positions. Two rockers are a gang count. One buyer says one side no longer switches. Another says an electrician had to fit a bridge. The Amazon GTIN 04011377263703 is not Jung's EAN 4011377263703.

Who should skip every best label

Skip all three if you need a dimmer, a smart switch, a finished LS 990 plate, or a bathroom-zone approval. None of these listings is a dimmer module. One 507 U review calls the item a quiet dimmer, and that sentence does not match the Kreuz title. Wi-Fi and touch rows were not used as features. IP44 on the 606 W does not, by itself, authorise a switch in a bath or shower zone. IP20 on the 509 U means the listing does not describe outdoor use. There is no best overall among the three. The useful sentence is the job: grey surface two-way, intermediate insert, or two two-way mechanisms.

Common questions

What is the best Jung switch here for a grey utility room or garage?
B000ONPJCW, the 606 W, at £12.60 on amazon.co.uk. The listing and Jung's page both say a grey 2-way with IP44, and reviews describe a surface housing. Skip it if you need a flush insert, or the successor range rather than a unit dated to 31 August 2027.
What is the best here for three positions on one light?
B000ONP7UQ, the 507 U, at £14.97. Jung calls it an intermediate insert. One review says that is the switch for three switches on one light. It does not include a stated cover. It is the wrong row if you only have two positions.
What is the best here for two rockers on one flush insert?
B000ONP7ZQ, the 509 U, at £22.75. Jung's line is two 1-pole 2-way mechanisms, and the listing states 10 A, screw terminals and IP20. It is not the middle switch. One review of a dead side and one of a bridge fitted by an electrician are the reasons to skip it if you wanted a simple single rocker.
Why not pick the highest star rating?
Two of the three are 4.8, so the highest star rating does not even name one product. Stars do not encode intermediate, double change or surface mounting. The 509 U has the most ratings, 254, and the lowest score, 4.6. Use the article number for the circuit you have, and treat 4.8 as a listing average rather than a test.
Who should skip the 606 W because Jung has dated it?
Skip it if you are fitting several new points and want a range Jung still presents as current after 31 August 2027. The successor on Jung's page is the 806 W, which is not this ASIN. A like-for-like spare for an existing WG 600 point is a different decision, and the frame size of the successor is not assumed to match.
Is there a best overall, and what is still unknown?
No. Each row is best only for the job named above. Unknowns you should not invent: Amazon does not state a current for the 507 U or the 606 W, UK-marked written reviews are one utility-room note on the 606 W, and the 509 U GTIN on Amazon does not match Jung's EAN. Those gaps are why this page refuses a single winner.
