What is in the box

Every kit here includes at least one Power X-Change battery and a charger. A body-only price elsewhere is a different purchase. The TE-CD 18/44, article 4514287, is £44: one drill, one 2.5 Ah pack and a charger, with no case and no bits. Article 4513940, at £75, lists two 2.0 Ah packs, a charger and an S35 E-Box, and the bullets call the motor brushless. The TE-CD 18/48 at £92.95 adds a case and does not call the motor brushless. Paying more than £75 does not buy a higher stated combi torque in these five prices. The TE-CD 18/40 at £110 is the bit kit: two 2.0 Ah packs, a 3 A charger, a case and a set the highlight calls 69 pieces. You are paying for accessories, not 50 Nm. Article 4257214 at £114.51 is two tools, split on the Einhell combi drill vs impact driver page.

Which torque and speed figures to trust

Defend 44 Nm on the 18/44, 50 Nm on the 18/50, 48 Nm on the 18/48, 44 Nm on the twinpack combi, and 40 Nm on the 18/40. Einhell's page for article 4514287 states 44 Nm. Use that highlight. The £44 table also prints 14 Nm. The speeds cell says 21, which is the clutch count in the bullets, not 21 gears. Treat 44 Nm and two speeds as the working description. Two listings print 24,000 rpm. On Einhell's pages for the 18/44 and the 18/40 that class of figure is the gear-2 stroke rate, not spindle speed. The 18/44 cell is 1,250 rpm and the 18/50 lists 1,800 rpm. The twinpack table prints 140 Nm, which Einhell assigns to the impact driver, not the combi.

Chuck, brushless and the plug

Four listings print a 13 mm chuck. The £75 table says 10 mm. Einhell's sheet for article 4513940, and the Wickes page, say 13 mm. Keep both. A 10 mm chuck will not hold a 13 mm shank. Brushless counts only where the listing and Einhell agree. Article 4513940 says it in the bullets. The 18/44, 18/48 and 18/40 pages describe a brush motor. The twinpack cell says brushless, and a UK review says the set is not. On the 18/48, one buyer saw sparks and returned the drill. Two UK reviews of the £110 kit report a European two-pin plug and no adaptor. Regulation 35 expects a BS 1363 fit, including in Northern Ireland. Brick sits on the Einhell cordless combi drill brick page.

A buying order

All five rows include a battery. Hammer mode is stated on the single combis. On the twinpack it is named in a review, not the bullets, so do not assume the driver drills plug holes. Keep 44, 50, 48, 44 or 40 Nm. Drop 14 Nm, 24,000 rpm as spindle speed, and 140 Nm as a combi figure. Compare 10 mm and 13 mm on the £75 kit. Accept brushless only on article 4513940. Check the £110 plug before you count the bits. Price comes last. Above £75 you buy bits, a case or a second tool, not a higher combi torque. Register within 30 days for the three-year total Einhell states. The 10-year line on article 4513940 is the motor only.

Common questions

Does every Einhell cordless combi here include a battery?
Yes. Each of the five listings includes at least one Power X-Change pack and a charger. The £44 kit has one 2.5 Ah pack. The other four list two packs. A bare body on another site is not one of these rows.
Why does one listing show 44 Nm and 14 Nm?
The £44 highlight, and Einhell's page for article 4514287, state 44 Nm. The amazon table also prints 14 Nm. The bullets' 21 torque levels are the clutch, beside a two-speed gearbox. Compare 44 Nm, and treat 14 Nm as the cell that disagrees.
Is 24,000 rpm the drilling speed?
No. On Einhell's pages for the 18/44 and the 18/40, 24,000 rpm is the gear-2 stroke rate, the blows, not chuck speed. The 18/44 listing also prints 1,250 rpm, and the 18/50 prints 1,800 rpm. Compare torque and what is in the box.
Which kit is brushless?
Article 4513940, the £75 two-pack, states brushless in the bullets. Einhell's pages for the 18/44, 18/48 and 18/40 describe a brush motor. The twinpack cell says brushless, and a UK review says it is not. Pay only where both agree.
What chuck size should you believe on the £75 kit?
The amazon technical table prints 10 mm. The bullets do not give a millimetre size. Einhell's sheet for article 4513940 and the Wickes listing for that article say 13 mm. Keep both figures in view. Check the chuck when the case arrives before you buy a 13 mm bit for it.
How do you spot a two-pin charger before you rely on the tool?
Open the charger before the first job, especially on the £110 TE-CD 18/40. Two UK reviews say it had a European two-pin plug and no adaptor. The text does not promise a BS 1363 plug. Pins that will not enter a UK socket are a supply fault.
