Elgato Stream Deck versus SOOMFON and STREONOR

Updated: October 2026

A 15-key pad near £68 looks, on the amazon.co.uk grid, like a cheaper MK.2. Elgato Stream Deck versus SOOMFON and STREONOR is a software comparison. The MK.2 in our [stream controller comparison](/hub/diy-supplies/stream) is £109.99. The black SOOMFON is £69.99, the white SOOMFON is £69.00, and the STREONOR S15 is £67.99. The gap under the MK.2 is about £40. That money buys fifteen keys and a different program. It does not buy Elgato’s Marketplace at a discount. Peter F. used the amazon.co.uk extracts and UK review themes on 15 October 2026, and did not run a lab test. A qualifying purchase through our links can earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

Three apps, not one cheaper MK.2

Four listings use Elgato’s app: the Mini, the Neo, the MK.2, and the XLR bundle. The black SOOMFON, the white SOOMFON, and the STREONOR do not. A profile from the MK.2 does not open on either, on the evidence in these listings. This page stays on the 15-key SOOMFON pair and the S15. The Neo is £69.99 for eight Elgato keys and two touch points. The black SOOMFON is £69.99 for fifteen keys in another program. If you want Elgato’s library, the Neo is the same money and fewer keys. Who should keep each pad is on which stream controller to buy.

What the Elgato Marketplace is, and who cannot use it

Elgato’s Marketplace is the library UK MK.2 reviews actually use: OBS, Discord, Spotify, Philips Hue, and the wider set the item highlight calls hundreds of plugins. SOOMFON does not run it. STREONOR does not run it. An Elgato plugin file is not an action on those pads, on what these listings describe. Zoom certification does not travel with the shape of the keys either. Elgato’s article names the Mini, the Neo, the MK.2, and Stream Deck +. It does not name SOOMFON or STREONOR. A Mac buyer who wants one named Marketplace plugin should confirm it exists for macOS before treating hundreds as their list. The UK reviews describe use. They are not a lab score for either library.

What UK reviews actually say about SOOMFON and STREONOR

The SOOMFON sample is one sample. The white listing repeats the black review text, under the same 4.2 from 1,439 ratings. Reviewers liked the price against a dearer Stream Deck, and they say a web address on the device pointed at the wrong software. Profiles reset when the unit turns off. Count that as one review. Black states 24 months. White is £69.00 with 18 months and a display-only card. STREONOR is a separate file: 4.6 from 191 ratings, with 21 UK reviews. Linux is not supported, and Spotify needs Premium.

When the other app is enough

The other app is enough when you want OBS keys and app launches, and you have no Elgato profile, plugin, or Zoom certificate to keep. Fifteen shortcuts on a SOOMFON or a STREONOR, at £67.99 to £69.99, are then the purchase, against £109.99 for the MK.2. The other app is the wrong buy when a how-to you follow assumes the Marketplace, or when a video called the pad a Stream Deck and you believed the profile would move. In that case the Neo, at the same £69.99 as the black SOOMFON, stays on Elgato’s app with eight keys, and the MK.2 stays there with fifteen. A logo or a wrong download address is fixed on set up a stream controller, in the installer named on your box, with the cable in the computer rather than a hub.

Common questions

Will a SOOMFON profile open in Elgato’s app?
These listings do not show that. SOOMFON’s bullets send you to SOOMFON’s download. The four Elgato pads use Elgato’s app. A layout you build on the black or white SOOMFON stays in that software. If you later buy an MK.2, you rebuild the keys. The two SOOMFON colours share review text. They do not share a bridge into Elgato’s profile format.
Can I install Elgato Marketplace plugins on the STREONOR?
No. The Marketplace is Elgato’s library. STREONOR claims its own plugin store, with an account, and UK reviews call the search slow. That store is not Elgato’s. OBS and Hue plugins from MK.2 reviews do not become STREONOR actions because the pad has fifteen keys. Spotify on the STREONOR also needs an active Premium account, which is printed on the listing.
The SOOMFON is £69.99 and the Neo is £69.99. What is the actual difference?
The black SOOMFON is fifteen LCD keys in SOOMFON’s app, with 24 months on the listing and a 4.2 from 1,439 ratings shared with the white page. The Neo is eight LCD keys and two touch points in Elgato’s app, at 4.8 from 198 ratings, and the listing states no warranty length. Same shelf price, different program, different key count. Choose the Neo when Elgato’s library is the point. Choose the SOOMFON when fifteen keys in its app are the point.
What do UK reviews say about SOOMFON on a Mac?
The shared sample says ready-made scenes are missing and the icon set is thin. Keys can stay lit, or show a white screen, while the Mac sleeps. A wrong address printed on the device shows up in the same reviews. The listing says macOS Catalina 10.15 or higher. That line is SOOMFON’s, not Elgato’s June 2026 requirement of macOS 13. A Catalina bullet is not access to an Elgato plugin.
Why is the white SOOMFON £69.00 with 18 months, and the black one £69.99 with 24?
White is part CN001-WN1 at £69.00, with 18 months, a removable bracket, and a display-only card. Black is CN001-BN1 at £69.99, with 24 months, without that card in the comparison fields. The review block is the same, so the pound you save is not a separately reviewed white unit. You are paying for the colour and the extras on the bullets, with a shorter stated warranty.
Is the information card on the white SOOMFON a sixteenth key?
No. The bullet says the card is not pressed, only displayed, and that it can show three items such as weather, time, and hard-drive temperature. Actions still go on the fifteen LCD keys. The reviews do not discuss the card, because they repeat the black listing. STREONOR’s weather, memory, and CPU panel is the same idea on another brand: a display, not an extra button.
