Which stream controller to buy

Updated: October 2026

You already want a USB keypad with a screen on each key, and the open question is which of these seven listings to keep. Which stream controller to buy, here, means the amazon.co.uk pages in our [stream controller comparison](/hub/diy-supplies/stream), not every deck a best-of film ranks. Prices are those extracts: Mini £49.99, Neo £69.99, MK.2 £109.99, XLR bundle £227.03, SOOMFON £69.99 and £69.00, STREONOR £67.99. Stars are the listings’ scores, not a lab. Only the seven listings in this comparison

What you can order here is the Mini, the Neo, the MK.2, the XLR bundle, the black SOOMFON, the white SOOMFON, and the STREONOR S15. An XL, and prices from other UK shops, are outside this set. A higher star line does not settle the size. The Neo is 4.8 from 198 ratings. The MK.2 is 4.7 from 10,277. If the question is whether £68 buys Elgato’s software, that split is on Elgato Stream Deck versus SOOMFON and STREONOR.

Elgato Mini, Neo, and MK.2

Keep the Mini (£49.99) when one workflow fits on six LCD keys, such as OBS scenes and a mute. It is 4.7 from 7,850 ratings. Skip it when two keys would only change page. The connector table lists both USB-C and Micro USB, and a UK review says there is no stand. Keep the Neo (£69.99) for eight keys and two touch points, if the computer has USB-C. Skip it for a soundboard on one page. The listing names neither an operating system nor a warranty in months, and about ten of fifty reviews read are from the United Kingdom. Keep the MK.2 (£109.99) when fifteen Elgato keys must be visible. It is 4.7 from 10,277 ratings. Skip it near a £70 budget or if you need dials. Several reviews say the keys feel spongy, and there is no USB-C to USB-A cable in the box.

The XLR bundle, then the two 15-key apps

Keep the XLR bundle (£227.03) only when the microphone is XLR. The bullets claim 75 dB of gain and 48 V phantom power. Skip it for a USB mic. One UK review reported delay and white noise with in-ear monitors, and the extract does not name the dock generation. The score is 4.4 from 253 ratings. Keep the black SOOMFON (£69.99) or the white one (£69.00) for fifteen keys under £70 in SOOMFON’s app. Skip both if you need Elgato’s Marketplace. The white file repeats the black reviews, so 4.2 from 1,439 ratings is one sample. Keep the STREONOR S15 (£67.99) for fifteen keys plus a dashboard. Skip it on Linux, or if you need an adjustable stand. £67.99 buys STREONOR’s app, not Elgato’s.

Who should buy which, in one pass

For a one-PC stream in Elgato’s app, choose by how many actions must be on screen. The MK.2 is the fifteen-key Elgato pad. The Neo is enough at eight keys plus two touch points. The Mini is the one when a scene-and-mute row fits on six keys at £49.99. If you do not stream, stay with the Mini or the Neo unless the microphone is XLR. That case is on stream controller for Zoom and Teams. Fifteen keys under £70 means the two SOOMFON listings or the STREONOR, if you accept a separate app. A 4.8 from 198 ratings does not outrank a 4.7 from 10,277 when you need the larger pad.

Common questions

I only change OBS scenes and mute. Is the Mini enough?
Yes, if that row fits on six keys. The Mini is £49.99 and 4.7 from 7,850 ratings, and UK reviews use it for OBS and mute. It is the wrong pad when two keys exist only to change page. There is no stand in the box list. The listing warranty is 12 months. If you already want fifteen Elgato keys on screen, the MK.2 is the match, at £109.99.
I want Elgato’s app and more than eight keys. Is the MK.2 the one in this set?
Yes. The MK.2 is the fifteen-key Elgato model kept here, at £109.99, with 4.7 from 10,277 ratings and a two-year warranty line. UK reviews describe a detachable USB-C cable, a stand, and faceplates. It has no dials, and the keys draw spongy-press complaints. The Neo stops at eight keys plus two touch points. An XL is not in this comparison.
I already have a USB microphone. Should I skip the £227.03 bundle?
Skip it. The bundle is the only XLR input in the set. A USB mic does not use that socket, so £227.03 would buy keys and dials another pad here can cover. One UK review reported white noise and delay with in-ear monitors. Keep the bundle only when the microphone itself is XLR and can take 48 V phantom power.
I want fifteen keys under £70. Which listings are that, and what do I give up?
The black SOOMFON at £69.99, the white SOOMFON at £69.00, and the STREONOR at £67.99. You give up Elgato’s app and the plugin library UK MK.2 reviews use. SOOMFON’s reviews, counted once, mention a wrong download address and thin Mac presets. STREONOR’s 21 UK reviews like the dashboard and call the plugin-store account awkward. Linux is outside STREONOR’s bullets.
The Neo has a higher star score than the MK.2. Does that make it the better pad?
It is the higher average on a smaller file: 4.8 from 198 ratings against 4.7 from 10,277. The Neo has eight keys and two touch points at £69.99. The MK.2 has fifteen keys at £109.99. If you need those extra keys on screen, the MK.2 matches, even with the slightly lower average. If eight keys are enough, the Neo’s score is relevant and the written UK sample is still thin.
Why is the white SOOMFON not a separate 1,439-review product?
The white page prints the same 4.2 from 1,439 ratings, and the review block repeats the black listing, including the same UK titles and dates. One repeated line says the white colour fits a desk. The card and the bracket are on the white bullets, and those reviews do not discuss them. Count the comments once. The differences are colour, £69.00 against £69.99, 18 months against 24, and the card and bracket.
