Tornado cleaning gun vs blow gun: which nozzle spins

Updated: 23 October 2026

The titles all sound like a tornado, including a straight kit that also says 360 degree. A tornado cleaning gun vs blow gun choice is a spinning tube against a narrow jet. The spinning tube agitates carpet fibres, vents and pet hair if the compressor can feed it. The straight gun is a short blast for loose debris in a gap. Neither one collects the dust, so the vacuum follows both. The table is the [cleaning gun comparison](/hub/diy-supplies/cleaning-gun). A spinning tube is not a straight jet

A straight blow gun throws a concentrated stream. A tornado-style gun spins a tube, often inside a cone, so the air hits fibres from changing angles and shakes loose what a single jet skims over. In this dry set the spinning nozzles are Preciva, ABOHU, Dazzlingyyh and YUWEIC. A UK review of the Preciva describes a spinning nozzle. ABOHU lists a rotating nozzle and a brush, and states 240 litres per minute at 4.8 bar. Dazzlingyyh is a rotating silicone tube with no pressure figure and no airflow figure. YUWEIC is a cone and a detail brush. The tube only keeps changing angle while air is actually flowing. A compressor can hit a printed psi number and still starve the spin.

The ACHANFLY kit, including the 360 degree title

The ACHANFLY B09LQV8RMC is about £13.98, with 3.7 from 55 ratings. You get the gun, a 5 metre recoil hose described as 4 x 6 mm thermoplastic polyurethane, and a T-piece with a Euro quick connector. The type in this set is a straight air blow gun with a slender nozzle. The title also says 360 degree. That phrase is not a measured tornado, and it is not the same mechanism as a tube spinning in a cone. UK reviews of this kit include a trigger that stayed open and a gun that broke on first use. A straight gun suits loose debris in a gap or on a bench. If your hose is PCL, this Euro connector is a matching problem. The fitting lesson is the cleaning gun buying guide.

Airflow decides whether the tube keeps spinning

ABOHU is the only gun in this set with a stated flow: 240 litres per minute at 4.8 bar, and a working band of 6–9.2 bar. UK reviews say it uses a lot of air. Preciva and Dazzlingyyh do not state airflow. Dazzlingyyh’s extension tube left the gun and hit a buyer in the captured reviews. A branded Tornador Black, outside this ASIN list, states about 270 litres per minute and a maximum of 6.5 bar. Do not hang that number on these four listings. If your compressor cannot keep the tube spinning, a short straight blast was the tool you needed. If the tank can feed something like ABOHU’s stated 240 litres per minute, the spinning tube is the one for fibres and vents.

Both still leave the dust

HSE’s dust guidance is not to blow dust off surfaces or clothes, and to vacuum it, because blowing puts the dust back into the air. A spinning tube and a straight jet fail that capture test in the same way. Blow towards the mat or the floor you are about to vacuum, in short bursts, with the doors open if you are in a car. You do not blow brake dust with the straight kit. Use the rotating nozzle when the job is fibres, vents or pet hair and the compressor can keep the tube spinning. Use the straight kit when you need a narrow blast and the Euro hose matches. Vacuum after either one. Connect and stop rules are in how to use a cleaning gun.

Common questions

What does the spinning tube do that a straight nozzle does not?
It keeps changing the angle of the air, often inside a cone, so fibres and vent slots get hit from more than one direction. A straight nozzle is one concentrated stream. The spin only happens while the compressor supplies enough flow. ABOHU states 240 litres per minute at 4.8 bar. If the tank empties, the tube stops.
Does 360 degree on the ACHANFLY title make it a tornado gun?
No. The kit is a straight air blow gun: a slender nozzle, a 5 metre recoil hose and a Euro T-piece, with no bottle. The title also says 360 degree. That claim is not a measurement of a spinning tube in a cone. Treat the gun as a straight blast for loose debris. Carpet fibres and pet hair point at the rotating guns, with their own fitting and airflow limits.
Which gun in this set actually states an airflow figure?
ABOHU, at 240 litres per minute at 4.8 bar, with a working band of 6–9.2 bar. Preciva, Dazzlingyyh, YUWEIC and ACHANFLY do not state litres per minute. Tornador Black’s about 270 litres per minute is a different gun and must not be written onto these listings. Without a figure, do not assume the straight kit is gentler on a small compressor.
Will a small compressor keep a rotating nozzle spinning?
Maybe for a few seconds. UK forum owners describe rotating guns emptying small tanks quickly, and a 100 litre tank still working hard. That is experience, not a laboratory result. A compressor can show the printed pressure and still run out of flow, so the tube stalls. On a tiny DIY unit, the straight blow gun is the honest tool for a short blast.
Can you dust clothing or brake dust with the straight gun?
No. HSE guidance says blow guns injure eyes, can inject air through skin, and must not be used to dust clothing. Brake and clutch dust is never blown out with an airline. A rubber tip may save trim from a scratch. Shut the air off if the ACHANFLY trigger stays open, which UK notes in this set already describe.
