Cleaning gun for car interior: vents, mats, stains

Updated: 23 October 2026

The hoover has already been over the seats, and the vents, the mat edges and the pet hair are still there. A cleaning gun for car interior loosens that debris, or wets a stain you can name. It is not a vacuum and not a workshop blow-off. This page stays in the cabin. You choose dry air, a bottle, or a hand spot gun, then you hoover what the gun only moved. The full table is the [cleaning gun comparison](/hub/diy-supplies/cleaning-gun). Peter F. used amazon.co.uk listings and public UK sources on 21 October 2026. Crumbs, vents and mats

For loose crumbs, vent dust and mat grit, you want a dry rotating nozzle and a compressor, then a vacuum. In this set that is Preciva, ABOHU, Dazzlingyyh and YUWEIC. None of them holds liquid. Preciva’s UK reviews talk about a spinning nozzle on mats, vents and drying, across 4.5 from 95 ratings, and the same listing prints 60–160 psi beside 0.6–0.92 MPa. Those ranges are not equal, so you do not set the regulator to 160 psi in a footwell. Dazzlingyyh is the cheap silicone tube, 4.2 from 225, with no pressure figure. One buyer was hit when the extension tube left the gun. Open the doors and blow the grit towards the mat you are about to hoover. Named picks are on best cleaning gun.

A bottle only for a stain you can name

A bottle gun is for a cleaner you can name on a fabric stain, not for every vent. The Cretee at about £19.99 is a 1 litre bottle with a stated maximum of 8 bar and 3.7 from 1,357 ratings. UK reviews say the fitting is European and will not take a UK PCL male plug, that water often does not come out, and that a small blue tube can blow off the line. No listing here states a leather test. Do not put an unnamed solvent, or a chlorinated one, into a closed cabin. The YH-170 at about £43.60 is the hand route when you have no compressor and the mark is a small textile spot.

Pet hair still needs the hoover

A spinning nozzle can lift pet hair and crumbs a hoover nozzle missed in a seam. Detailing owners describe that on UK forums: the dry motion reaches crevices, and the vacuum is still part of the job. The hair lands on the sill, the mat and your trousers if you are standing in the wrong place. None of these eight listings is a vacuum. Plan the hoover for the same session, with the doors open so the cloud is not the cabin air. UK reviews say rotating guns use a lot of air. ABOHU’s 240 litres per minute at 4.8 bar is the only stated flow among these guns. A tiny DIY compressor is a known disappointment on UK detailing forums. Check the fitting before you kneel in the footwell. The plug order is the cleaning gun buying guide.

Before you pull the trigger in the car

Where 0.6–0.92 MPa sits beside a 60–160 psi band on Preciva, YUWEIC or HISUEKIG, the ranges are not equal, so 160 psi is not the setting. Dazzlingyyh gives no pressure figure. Keep bursts short, wear eye protection, and keep the nozzle off skin and off your clothes. HSE’s compressed-air guidance is that blow guns injure eyes, can inject air through skin, and must not be used to dust clothing. HSE also says to vacuum dust rather than blow it off surfaces or clothes. Brake dust is a stop. A flying nozzle is a stop too. If the Cretee bottle will not spray, stop rather than dry-blasting a stain you meant to wet. The connect-and-stop sequence is how to use a cleaning gun.

Common questions

Do you want dry air for vents and mats, or liquid for a stain?
Dry air, if the job is crumbs, vent dust, mat grit or pet hair you will hoover afterwards. Preciva, ABOHU, Dazzlingyyh and YUWEIC need a compressor and hold no bottle. Liquid only if you have a stain and a cleaner you can name, which points at the Cretee bottle or the HISUEKIG tank. The YH-170 is the no-compressor spot gun. If you cannot name the stain, stay with dry air and the vacuum.
Can a small DIY compressor run a rotating gun in a cabin?
Often only in short bursts. UK reviews say these rotating guns use a lot of air. ABOHU states 240 litres per minute at 4.8 bar. The other dry guns here do not state a flow. Detailing forum owners describe small tanks running out quickly. If the tube stalls after a few seconds, the cabin job does not have the air supply it wants.
Which gun in this set does not need a compressor?
The YH-170 at about £43.60. The listing says no compressor and no airline. It is a hand textile spot gun with a fog or straight spray, 4.4 from 28 ratings, and no UK review text. It fits a small fabric mark when you already know the cleaner. It does not fit vents, mats or pet hair in a seam. The other seven guns need air.
Is a bottle gun safe on leather, switches and a closed cabin?
No file here is a leather test. Cover switches and screens before any liquid leaves the gun. Do not spray an unnamed or chlorinated solvent into a closed cabin. At work that falls under COSHH. Open the doors, use a cleaner you can name, and stop if no water comes out.
Should you blow crumbs off the seat you are sitting on?
No. You are in the nozzle’s path, and compressed air against skin or clothing is the injury HSE describes: eyes, and air driven through skin. Blow from outside the seat, towards a mat you will vacuum, with eye protection on. The pet hair that lands on you is a vacuum and a clothes-brush problem.
