Quiet ceiling fan for a bedroom

Updated: 21 October 2026

You want air across the bed and a light you can set without getting up, and the listing says quiet. A quiet ceiling fan for a bedroom is the low speed, beep and night-time light you can live with, not the lowest decibel number on the box. That number rarely says the speed or the distance. The twelve listings are on the [LED ceiling fan comparison](/hub/cooling/led-ceiling-fan). Room span stays on the [ceiling fan with light buying guide](/hub/cooling/led-ceiling-fan/sub/led-ceiling-fan-buying-guide), and headroom on the [low profile ceiling fan with light](/hub/cooling/led-ceiling-fan/sub/led-ceiling-fan-low-ceiling) page. Peter F. updated this on 21 October 2026 from the listings and review notes. Sound was not measured in a bedroom. A purchase through our links can earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

What quiet means when you are trying to sleep

A printed 20 dB, 35 dB or under 35 dB line is not a sleep test. In this set those figures appear on the Ensenior, the RLMIEL, the NIORSUN, the retractable fan and the SANYCASA. None names the speed or the distance. They are not a reason to crown a quietest model. No lab test was run here. Ensenior reviewers describe a quiet breeze on the lower speeds and setting 6 as a short blast. RLMIEL reviewers say speed 6 is much noisier than speed 1. Depuley reviews often call the fan smooth and quiet at night, with one complaint that the down-draught feels weak. Low-speed comments are the evidence. The decibel line is the claim.

The beep, the delay, and the remote from the bed

On the retractable fan, one reviewer says the remote beeps on every press, against the overview. This folder’s reviews include a beep. They do not include a confirmed mute for a named model. CHANFOK reviews describe a delay of several seconds, long enough that one buyer nearly returned the fan as dead. LXTEDJ, DWDVBL and CHANFOK reviews include an app that would not connect. The Ensenior phone link has to be set up again after the wall switch. The Depuley listing claimed an app and the seller later withdrew that claim. A remote that still works when the app does not is the control that matters at midnight.

A light you can dim after lights-out

From the bed you use the lamp and the fan together, so they need to be set apart. Where the spec never says they can be operated separately, do not assume one button will dim the lamp and leave the blades turning. Bullets often say 3000 K to 6500 K, while a spec line prints only 3000 K, 5000 K or 6000 K. The DWDVBL white listing is an example: the bullet says 3000–6500 K and the spec line says 5000 K. 6500 K is a task colour. Dimming a cool-white lamp does not turn it into a night light. If this is your only ceiling light, check a warmer colour towards 3000 K before you care about a timer.

Timer, then what this page will not decide

A shut-off timer is worth having once the noise and the light are acceptable. It does not fix a beep or an app that never pairs. The RHEAFON remote offers about 2 hours, and the app lists up to 8 hours. The RLMIEL bullet says a 1/2-hour timer. The Depuley and the Ensenior mention a timer without printing the hours. A timer is not evidence the fan is quiet. Reverse mode circulates air. It does not warm the bedroom, and the fan is not an air conditioner. Which pattern suits a box room and which suits blades is the best ceiling fan with light page. This page will not name a quietest fan.

Common questions

Can you sleep with a ceiling fan running?
Many reviewers in this set do, on a low speed. Ensenior comments describe a breeze left on overnight. RLMIEL and RHEAFON comments say the high speed is the noisy one. That is not a guarantee you will sleep, and it is not a decibel test. If the low speed is also too weak, the fan may be too small for the room.
Will the remote beep every time I press it?
It might. A reviewer of the retractable fan says it beeps on every press, against the product overview. A separate amazon.co.uk question describes the same beep and no mute. This folder does not confirm a mute on a named model. Assume you may hear a beep until you have tried the remote you received.
What if the app never pairs and I am already in bed?
Use the remote, if it works without the app. Pairing failures show up on the CHANFOK, the DWDVBL model 1138 pool, the LXTEDJ and, as a withdrawn claim, the Depuley. The Ensenior phone link has to be set up again after the wall switch. A fan whose only reliable control is an app is a poor bedroom fan.
Can the light dim, and stay warm, while the fan keeps running?
Only if the listing lets you set them separately, and only if a warmer colour is actually available. Bullets often say 3000 K to 6500 K, while a spec line may print a single figure such as 5000 K or 6000 K. Dimming a cool-white lamp does not turn it into a night light.
Is a sleep timer worth having?
Yes, after the fan is quiet enough and the light behaves. The RHEAFON offers about 2 hours on the remote and up to 8 hours in the app. The SANYCASA bullet offers 2 and 4 hours. A half-hour timer, as on the RLMIEL bullet, may be too short for a night.
