Angle grinder compatible with Makita 18V battery

Updated: 22 October 2026

You have a row of Makita 18 V packs on the shelf, and the amazon.co.uk result that costs £29.99 is turquoise and says Makita in the title. An angle grinder compatible with Makita 18V battery is someone else's body that hopes those packs fit. If the brand field is not Makita, you are not buying a Makita grinder. The [Makita cordless angle grinder comparison](/hub/tools/makita-cordless-angle-grinder) lists two Makita bare tools and five other brands, captured on 21 October 2026. Read the brand field before the title

The brand field is Makita on two listings only: the DGA454Z at £179.06 and the XAG25Z at £124.27, manufacturer Makita U.S.A. Inc. Synxiter is £57.99. JOJOCY is £50.99, manufacturer cooponmile. The 76 mm laloohome is £38.99, Gautesy £34.99, and the 125 mm laloohome £29.99. None includes a battery. Teal paint is a colour. Gautesy spells the system Ma-Kita so the title ranks. JOJOCY, Synxiter and laloohome name Makita packs in the title. Read that as a claim about the pack, then see who built the tool.

What the genuine bare tools are, and what they are not

The DGA454Z is a genuine Makita 18 V LXT bare unit, 4.8 from 465 amazon.co.uk reviews. UK reviewers also say the spindle is 5/8 inch, not M14, in line with Makita Canada's 5/8"-11 UNC note. The listing does not state a thread. The warranty line says one year. Genuine means Makita made the body, not that UK M14 flanges fit. The XAG25Z is Makita too, with US-marked reviews, X-LOCK only, and an attribute block that prints 120 and 454 g against an 18 V title. Anti-restart on the DGA504Z sheet is not in this table. Do not paste it onto a third-party listing. Scores are on the best Makita cordless angle grinder page.

What the compatible reviews actually say

Synxiter's four UK reviews are all five stars and say Makita packs click in. The listing wants at least a 4.0 Ah pack. Four perfect scores do not place a £57.99 body above 465 Makita reviews. JOJOCY is 3.2 from 15, and a verified UK review says the trigger fell apart. The £29.99 laloohome is 3.7 from five, with a verified cut-out after about 15 minutes. Gautesy is 3.6 from six and prints 9,000 rpm and 90,000 rpm. The 76 mm laloohome is 4.3 from three. None of these files is a failure rate. The parts are not Makita's.

Packs, warranty, and the kits we removed

Synxiter names BL1820 through BL1860B and still excludes the battery. Reviewers say the packs they owned clicked in. That is not every LXT code. G-series packs are excluded on the DGA504Z copy, and XGT packs do not fit. You do not keep Makita's one-year line, printed on the DGA454Z, when the body is Synxiter, JOJOCY, Gautesy or laloohome. Seesii, DCA, Mulcort and Eborrkee were removed because they brought their own batteries. NANWEI says its batteries are not for Makita tools. Disc and guard rules are on the how to use a cordless angle grinder page.

Common questions

How do I tell a genuine listing from a compatible one?
Read the brand field, then the manufacturer line, then the title. In this set the brand is Makita only on the DGA454Z and the XAG25Z. Synxiter, JOJOCY, laloohome and Gautesy are the other brand fields. A title that says for Makita or spells Ma-Kita is advertising the pack, not the maker of the gearbox. Teal paint does not decide it.
Will my BL1850 run a third-party body?
It might. Synxiter's bullets name BL1820 through BL1860B, and UK reviews on that listing and on the laloohome say the reviewers' Makita packs clicked in. That is not a guarantee for every pack code, and it is not the same as Makita publishing the interface. G-series packs are excluded on the DGA504Z retail copy, and XGT packs do not fit LXT tools. Try the pack you own before you trust a day of cutting to the claim.
Do I keep Makita's warranty on a compatible body?
No. The warranty follows the brand that built the body. The DGA454Z listing says one year for that Makita tool. A laloohome, Gautesy, JOJOCY or Synxiter is not covered by that line. If the trigger fails, you are dealing with that seller, which is already what one JOJOCY review describes. Makita parts for a DGA will not be the parts list for those bodies.
Is the XAG25Z more genuine because it is Makita USA?
It is genuine Makita, and the manufacturer line says Makita U.S.A. Inc. That does not make it a better UK buy than a UK-catalogue DGA. The reviews on the amazon.co.uk file are marked United States, the mount is X-LOCK only, and the attribute block prints 120 and 454 g against an 18 V title. Genuine answers who made it. It does not answer whether your discs fit.
What fails in the reviews we actually have?
On the JOJOCY, a verified review says the trigger fell apart. On the £29.99 laloohome, a verified review says it cuts out for about 15 minutes, and another says the battery button did not work. On the DGA454Z, the repeated UK complaint is the spindle, described as 5/8 inch rather than M14, plus packs that run down on heavy cutting. On the XAG25Z, US reviews complain about the cost and availability of X-LOCK wheels. We are not turning four or five comments into a failure rate.
