FLEX corded vs cordless angle grinder

Updated: October 2026

You have five FLEX leads that take a 125 mm disc, and one cordless row that looks, at £136.44, like another mid-price grinder. FLEX corded vs cordless angle grinder, in this set, is not a free choice of the same disc on a battery. Cordless here means the LBE 76 12-EC C, a 76 mm body, and the amazon included line does not name a pack. The five corded prices stay on the [Flex angle grinder comparison](/hub/tools/flex-angle-grinder). The Products Compared editorial team used the saved listing and FLEX's UK pages on 21 October 2026. We did not time a pack. A qualifying purchase can earn us a commission at no extra cost to you.

One cordless tool, and it is 76 mm

Five listings are corded 125 mm tools, from £75.00 to £286.76. The only cordless ASIN is B0FG7VPPD3, order 531717, the LBE 76 12-EC C at £136.44: 12 V, brushless, 5,000–20,000 rpm. Best-sellers rank files it under Belt Sanders. An 18 V 125 mm FLEX body is not among these six ASINs. The one review is 5.0, tagged Germany, and it is not a runtime test.

What £136.44 does not include

The included line says "Battery angle grinder" and does not name a pack or a charger. FLEX's UK page says delivery does not include either. £136.44 is the body price. The 12 V page names the AP 12/2.5 and the AP 12/5.0, and says 10.8 V packs still fit. This comparison has no saved price for a pack. The title says 0.85 kg and the weight cell says 1.42 kg. Leave both as printed.

A 125 mm disc does not fit

The LBE 76 manual prints a 10 mm hole, a 76 mm maximum disc, 4 mm maximum thickness, and an M6 spindle. A 125 mm M14 disc does not fit. FLEX states a cut of about 22 mm and a brake of about 1.5 seconds. Neither figure is an amazon bullet. A line about wood and plastic is not a toothed blade. Take the pack off before a disc change, as on how to use a FLEX angle grinder.

When the lead is the right tool

Buy the cordless body only if you already have a FLEX 12 V or compatible 10.8 V pack and you accept 76 mm. A 125 mm job on a domestic socket stays on the lead: £75.00, £166.04, £241.26, £273.36, or £286.76. None of those is 110 V. The L 12-11 prints 230 V and 11,500 rpm. Order 534016 adds a dial and a 3.5-second brake, and it is still a lead. The mini states no runtime.

Common questions

Is a battery in the £136.44 box?
The listing does not name one. The included-components row says "Battery angle grinder" and leaves out the pack size and the charger. The bullets list starter discs, a belt clip, and a cut-off hood. FLEX's UK page says delivery does not include a battery and charger. Read £136.44 as this saved body price, not as a complete 12 V kit.
Which FLEX packs does the UK page name?
The 12 V generation page names the AP 12/2.5 and the AP 12/5.0, and it says existing 10.8 V packs work on the new 12 V tools. Those names are on the maker's page. They are not in the amazon included line for order 531717. This comparison has no saved GBP price for either pack.
Will my 125 mm disc fit?
No. The mini is a 76 mm model. The manual prints a maximum disc of 76 mm and a maximum thickness of 4 mm. A 125 mm disc is the class of the five corded tools, from the L 1100 125 at £75.00 to order 534016 at £286.76. Putting the larger disc on the mini is outside that manual.
What bore does the mini manual print?
10 mm, on an M6 spindle. That is not the M14 bore used on a typical 125 mm corded disc. The starter kit in the bullets is for the 76 mm body. If the hole in the disc is the larger corded size, it is the wrong disc for order 531717, even if the diameter looks close at a glance.
What cut depth does FLEX state for 76 mm?
About 22 mm, on the UK product page for the LBE 76. That figure is not an amazon bullet on the £136.44 listing. It is a shallow cut, not the depth of a 230 mm grinder and not the about 38 mm Screwfix associates with a 125 mm disc. The same maker page states a brake of about 1.5 seconds, which is also absent from the amazon bullets.
Do the five corded tools need a pack?
No. Orders 532609, 447676, 495255, 534017, and 534016 are corded. Their saved prices run from £75.00 to £286.76, and the power-source lines are mains, not battery. You still need the right supply. None of them is a 110 V site tool, and a 230 V title is not a 12 V pack in disguise.
Is an 18 V 125 mm FLEX the same choice as this mini?
No. UK shops do list 18 V FLEX bodies that take a 125 mm disc. Those bodies are not among these six ASINs. The only cordless tool saved here is the 12 V LBE 76 at £136.44, with a 76 mm disc and no pack named. If you need 125 mm without a lead, you are outside this comparison.
