FLEX angle grinder with brake

Updated: October 2026

You have five corded 125 mm FLEX listings and three words that adverts treat as one safety feature: brake, anti-kickback, and a speed dial. A FLEX angle grinder with brake, in this set, means a printed stop time. Only two order numbers print 3.5 seconds. A motor that switches off when the disc jams is a different sentence, and a dial is a third. Prices are on the [Flex angle grinder comparison](/hub/tools/flex-angle-grinder). The Products Compared editorial team used the saved bullets and FLEX's UK pages on 21 October 2026. We did not time a disc to a stop. Three different claims

A brake here is a standstill time. Anti-kickback shuts the motor off if the disc blocks. A dial is a speed range. Only the five corded 125 mm rows are in this split. The L 1506 VR is not in the set. Order 534016 prints 3.5 seconds and 3,000–11,000 rpm. Order 534017 prints 3.5 seconds and no rpm. The L 12-11 prints a cut-out and 11,500 rpm, with no stop time. The L 1100 prints a restart lock and no brake. The L 13-10 prints 10,000 rpm and no brake. A missing bullet stays empty.

Who prints 3.5 seconds

Order 534016 at £286.76 prints the 3.5-second brake, anti-kickback, brushless, an LED display, 2.75 kg, 2,000 W, 230 V, and a 4 m cable. Soft start is not in these bullets. The one Germany review does not describe the brake. A 1,500 W output figure is a sheet, not an amazon bullet. Order 534017 at £273.36 prints the same brake and a soft start, with no rpm and no reviews. The weight cell says 100 g. FLEX's LB page states 11,000 rpm. That does not fill the amazon cell. Both rows stay 125 mm.

Cut-out without a stop time

The L 12-11 at £166.04 prints 230 V, 1,200 W in, 700 W out, and 11,500 rpm. The cut-out is not a 3.5-second brake and not a guard. The L 1100 at £75.00 has a reset lock, which is not a disc brake. The L 13-10 at £241.26 prints 1,300 W and 10,000 rpm. EC in the title is not brushless, and a Germany review is not a bullet.

A dial is not a lower disc rating

A dial near 3,000 rpm does not approve a disc rated below 11,000 rpm. The L 12-11, with no dial, still needs 11,500 rpm. Do not copy 11,000 rpm from the LB page into order 534017. Brake plus dial is order 534016 at £286.76. Brake without a printed speed is order 534017 at £273.36. Printed 230 V and a cut-out, rather than a stop time, is the L 12-11. Unplug first, as on how to use a FLEX angle grinder.

Common questions

Which two ASINs print a 3.5 second stop?
B0FMFPN9X8, order 534016, at £286.76, and B0FMFPQ1ZX, order 534017, at £273.36. Both are corded 125 mm tools listed at 2,000 W, and both bullets say a mechanical brake with standstill in 3.5 seconds. Only 534016 also prints 3,000–11,000 rpm. The L 12-11, the L 1100, and the L 13-10 do not print that time.
Does the L 12-11 have a brake?
Not as a stop time. Order 447676 prints a cut-out: the motor turns off if the disc blocks. It also prints a soft start and a restart lock, at 11,500 rpm and £166.04. FLEX's page for this model describes anti-kickback as that shut-off and does not give a standstill time. Do not describe it as a 3.5-second brake.
What is anti-kickback in FLEX's wording?
On the L 12-11 it means the motor shuts down if the disc is blocked. Orders 534016 and 534017 print anti-kickback as its own bullet beside the 3.5-second brake, so the listing treats them as two lines. The L 1100 and the L 13-10 do not print an anti-kickback bullet. A shut-off is not a measured stop, and it is not a guard.
Which corded row prints a dial?
Only order 534016. The bullet says 3,000–11,000 rpm, and another bullet says an LED speed display. The saved price is £286.76. Order 534017 has the brake and no rpm. The L 12-11 is a fixed 11,500 rpm. The L 13-10 cell says 10,000 rpm with no dial bullet. The L 1100 amazon file has no speed at all.
Does the £273.36 listing print rpm?
No. Order 534017 prints 2,000 W, 230 V, a 4 m cable, and a 3.5-second brake. The rpm cell is empty. FLEX's LB 20-11 125-EC page states 11,000 rpm for the fixed-speed twin. That is the maker page, not the amazon cell, and it does not overwrite the item-weight cell of 100 g. If you need the speed on the listing, look at £286.76.
Why is the L 13-10 not in the brake pair?
Because its bullets do not state a brake time or a dial. Order 495255, at £241.26, does print 1,300 W and 10,000 rpm. The title says 125-EC, and the bullets do not say brushless. A Germany review that mentions kickback protection is not a listing line. The two rows with 3.5 seconds printed are 534016 and 534017.
Does a dial let me fit a disc rated below the tool's maximum rpm?
No. Order 534016 can be set down toward 3,000 rpm, and the maximum cell still says 11,000 rpm. The disc has to be rated for at least that maximum, because the dial can be turned up. A lower setting does not approve a slower disc. The L 12-11, with no dial, still requires a disc rated for its printed 11,500 rpm.
