Bosch Professional angle grinder buying guide

Updated: 22 October 2026

You have already decided on blue Bosch Professional, and amazon.co.uk still shows ten small grinders that look alike in the thumbnails. The useful Bosch Professional angle grinder buying guide is a sequence: socket or battery first, then the disc the guard is built for, then the part number, and only then the shelf price. The [Bosch Professional angle grinder comparison](/hub/tools/bosch-professional-angle-grinder) is the table those steps point back to. Prices are the GBP figures on those listings on 19 October 2026. Peter F. set this out from those pages. There was no lab test. A qualifying purchase can earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

Start with the socket or the battery you already have

A house 13 A socket and a site transformer are different purchases. The house rows that agree with themselves are the 240 V GWS 7-115, B01D9QAG9G, at £67.55, and the 230 V GWS 9-115 S, B07HMJGC89, at £77.00. The 110 V GWS 9-115 S, B07HM62K7B at £79.99, also agrees with itself. That supply question is on the 110V Bosch angle grinder page. B00CA0ZM7Y at £65.00 is the row to pause on: style 110V and a scope line that says voltage 110 V, while the voltage field says 230 volts. Every cordless row is sold without a battery or a charger, including the L-BOXX listings. If Professional packs are already charged, a bare body is the shorter add. If they are not, a lead under £80 is the whole electrical purchase. The sum once you add a pack is the corded or cordless Bosch angle grinder page.

Disc and guard before wattage

The corded names already state the disc. GWS 7-115 and GWS 9-115 S are 115 mm tools. Only one cordless title prints 125 mm: the GWS 18V-8 with L-BOXX, B0DQV8K7JM, at £131.06. The two bare 800 W tables, B0DQV9X3BX at £89.44 and part 06019N9004 at £89.99, leave the diameter blank. Reviews mention 115 mm, 125 mm and a 100 mm import warning. A shop page that prints 115 mm does not fill an empty amazon table. HSE's HSG17 guide says a portable-machine guard should stay on, and should not come off so an oversize wheel will fit. A slower flap wheel or porcelain job is the 230 V GWS 9-115 S, against the GWS 7-115 that prints a fixed 11,000 rpm. How the nut goes on is the how to use a Bosch angle grinder page. None of these scope lines names a cutting disc.

Read the part number, not the thumbnail

Two 1,100 W bodies share a look and not a feature list. Part 06019N4000, B0DQV82L7J, at £148.99, has a 6-speed dial in the bullets, a quick-locking nut and a Vibration Control handle. UK review titles call it a 125 mm GWS 18V-11 S. The amazon title only says Small Angle Grinders. Part 06019N4100, B0DQV8KK2R, at £135.95, has the quick nut and the damped handle, and its bullets do not mention a dial. If you need the dial, open 06019N4000. The £13 between them is not a discount on the same tool. The GWX18V-11PS, B0G662PLHR, part 06019N4400, at £199.98, names a paddle, kickback control and a brake, plus an L-BOXX. The bullets do not print X-LOCK. Non-UK reviews are the lines that say older nut-type discs need an adapter.

What the shelf price does not include

No scope line in this set names a cutting disc. Corded boxes list a flange, a nut, a guard and a spanner or two. An L-BOXX means a case, not a pack. One UK review on the 6-speed body puts extra batteries at about £50 to £80. That is one person's range, not today's ProCORE price. Review volume is the last check, after the part number is right. The 240 V GWS 7-115 is 4.6 from 1,378. The bare GWS 18V-8 rows show 4.7 from 531, and the text on part 06019N9004 is a near-copy, so those ratings are not two samples. The GWX is 4.9 from 13, with no UK review body in the file. Open the row that matches your socket, your packs and your part number.

Common questions

Does a cordless Bosch Professional grinder come with a battery?
No row in this set includes a ProCORE or GBA pack or a charger. The style line says without battery or charger, and that includes both L-BOXX listings. The shelf price is the body, and sometimes the case. You still buy the pack, or you use Professional packs you already own. A bare price near £90 is the tool on its own.
Will my existing 18 V pack fit a blue tool?
Bosch Professional's 18 V guidance treats GBA and ProCORE as the Professional packs inside that system. It is not a licence for every battery marked 18 V. On the 125 mm L-BOXX GWS 18V-8, a Netherlands review says a Gardena-Bosch universal pack does not fit, and that Bosch Pro packs do. The listing itself does not print that warning. Check the pack you own against the manual before you assume it clicks in.
Is the GWS 7-115 110 V or 240 V?
There are two listings. B01D9QAG9G is style 240V, the voltage field is 240 volts, and the scope line says 240 V, at £67.55. B00CA0ZM7Y is style 110V and the scope says 110 V, while the voltage field says 230 volts, at £65.00. UK reviews on that second row mention a yellow plug and a transformer. The lower price does not settle the clash.
Should I choose 115 mm or 125 mm when the table is blank?
Use 115 mm where the model name says 115 mm, which is the GWS 7-115 and GWS 9-115 S rows. Use 125 mm where the title states it, which here is B0DQV8K7JM. If the specification table is blank, as on the two bare 800 W rows, leave it blank. Reviews in the file disagree, and a retailer's 115 mm line is not a substitute for the amazon table.
Is the 6-speed dial on both 1,100 W bodies?
The dial is in the bullets for part 06019N4000, at £148.99. It is absent from the bullets for part 06019N4100, at £135.95. A German review on the second part says there is no speed control and that the photos look like the S model. Buy the part whose bullets name the dial when a flap wheel or a polish needs a slower speed. The shared thumbnail is the trap.
