Folding teak sun lounger when the shed is the limit

Updated: October 2026

The patio is a few slabs wide, the shed is already half full of a mower, and you need the lounger to go away when the weather turns. A folding teak sun lounger is the listing that claims that job. On these amazon.co.uk listings, four of the six kept rows say they fold, and none of them prints a folded size. Two rope loungers never claim a fold at all. Listed masses around 5 kg also sit a long way from a 19 kg plantation steamer of similar length, so a fold bullet is not a confirmed teak steamer you can park in the shed by guesswork. The price grid stays on the [teak sun lounger comparison](/hub/sun-loungers/teak-sun-lounger). Species checks stay on the [teak sun lounger buying guide](/hub/sun-loungers/teak-sun-lounger/sub/teak-sun-lounger-buying-guide). The Products Compared editorial team read the listings on 16 October 2026 and did not measure a folded frame. A qualifying purchase can earn us a commission at no extra cost to you.

Which listings say they fold

Four listings claim a fold. B0GY9CDWRS, the GFEROMRF folder at £120.00, lists 4.81 kg, says assembly is not required, and gives no recline count and no folded size. B0GY95XN3P, at £126.00 and 5.26 kg, also says assembly is not required, and it is the one that adds a back from sitting up to lying flat. B0HDP1JNPL, the Generic model KM-xFsq37 at £140.99, says it folds and prints no dimensions, no weight, and no folded size. It was first listed on 10 August 2026. B0HDP19WMJ, at £307.99, says it folds in a bullet. Its title says two pieces and the items field says 1, so do not plan shed space for two frames until the seller resolves the count. That is the whole fold column. There is no folded centimetre figure to copy into a tape measure. Do not invent one, and do not assume the lounger becomes half its length. Jati’s own wheeled steamer, which does say it folds flat, still does not publish a folded centimetre size on the page used as the contrast. Assembly is not a substitute for that measurement. Not required on B0GY9CDWRS and B0GY95XN3P means you are not building the frame from a kit, if the attribute is right. It does not mean the folded bundle has a known height. Open length, where it exists, is also shaky: B0GY9CDWRS prints 60 × 57 × 160 cm with the axes in conflict, and B0GY95XN3P prints 55 × 69 × 161 cm the same way.

What a known steamer weighs

A fold claim plus about 5 kg is not a confirmed teak steamer. Jati’s wheeled teak garden steamer, used only as a published contrast, is 60 cm wide, 160 cm deep, 19 kg, and £225 on that shop’s page, with a removable footrest and rubber wheels, delivered assembled. Timber Development UK puts dried teak at about 660 kg per cubic metre. A slatted chair is mostly air, which is why 19 kg can still be a wooden steamer. It is also why 4.81 kg and 5.26 kg should not be waved through as the same object. Jati’s folding range describes folding as the small-garden option and, on the page read in October 2026, includes a steamer at £200, one with wheels at £225, and recliner-plus-footstool combinations around £155 to £235. Those are shop prices, not amazon.co.uk rows, and not a laboratory ranking. They show what a seller looks like when the mass is printed. B0GY9CDWRS and B0GY95XN3P at least print a kilogram line you can reject. B0HDP1JNPL prints none, so you cannot compare it with 19 kg at all. Leaving a folding lounger outside is a different decision from whether it folds. One pointer is enough here: a fold is for storage, and a cover is not included with the listings that recommend one. If you cannot get a folded size from the seller before you pay, the best teak sun lounger page already says there is no star winner to fall back on. Buying the cheapest fold claim because the patio is small does not make the timber heavier.

If you cannot put it away

Two listings never claim a fold, so they are the wrong rows for a shed. B0GY9CPZSG is the GFEROMRF rope lounger at £160.00 and 5.18 kg, with a detachable footrest. The listing does not say it folds. Its dimensions conflict, 89.5 × 65 × 57 cm on one line and a swapped height of 65 cm on another, which may be a short chair rather than a 160 cm steamer if you take the smaller reading. Assembly is not required in one attribute and simple assembly in a bullet. B0HDNYLFX4 is the Generic high-back at £189.99, model KM-k0ZuAL, with rope and a detachable footrest, no listed weight, and no fold sentence. It was first listed on 10 August 2026. A footrest is useful when you are lying down. It does not hinge the frame into a corner. If the lounger must live on the patio all year, you are no longer shopping for a fold. You are shopping for a frame you are willing to leave out, and the species and the mass matter more than a storage bullet. Winter washing and whether to oil a silver surface are on how to look after a teak sun lounger, not in the folded-size cell.

Measure the shed before you order

Before you order, measure the space you actually have. Width of the shed door, depth of the slot beside the mower, and the height under the shelf are the three numbers the listing will not give you back. Ask the seller for a folded size in centimetres. If they cannot provide one, you do not yet know that a folding teak sun lounger from this set fits. A 160 cm open steamer that folds flat still needs a long slot. A listing that will not say how long that slot is should stay in the basket.

Common questions

Which of these teak loungers fold?
Four listings say they fold: B0GY9CDWRS at £120.00, B0GY95XN3P at £126.00, B0HDP1JNPL at £140.99, and B0HDP19WMJ at £307.99. None prints a folded size. B0GY9CPZSG and B0HDNYLFX4 do not say they fold.
How small is it when folded?
The listings do not say. There is no folded length, width, or height on any of the six ASINs. Do not assume half the open length. Even Jati’s 19 kg steamer, which says it folds flat, does not give a folded centimetre size on the page used as the contrast. Ask the seller before you rely on the shed.
Will a 5 kg frame feel like a wooden steamer?
Not on the published contrast. B0GY9CDWRS is listed at 4.81 kg and B0GY95XN3P at 5.26 kg. Jati’s wheeled steamer of 60 cm by 160 cm is published at 19 kg. A slatted teak chair can be 19 kg because it is mostly air. A mass around 5 kg is not confirmed as that chair. It is not, by itself, proof of fraud.
Can I leave a folding teak lounger outside anyway?
You can, if you accept the care limits on the other page: feet off wet ground, or a cover you buy separately, and no pressure washer. Folding is about storage. It is not a weather rating, and none of these listings cites BS EN 581. A fold claim does not tell you the timber species.
Do the rope loungers fold?
The listings do not say so. B0GY9CPZSG names a rope back and a detachable footrest at 5.18 kg. B0HDNYLFX4 names a high back, rope, and a detachable footrest, with no weight. If the shed is the requirement, these two are the rows to skip.
Is the £307.99 set a folding pair?
The title of B0HDP19WMJ says two pieces, and a bullet says it folds. The items field says 1. The listing does not resolve the count, and there is no folded size. Do not clear space for two frames, and do not halve the price, until the seller states what will arrive.
What should I measure in the shed before I order?
Measure the door width, the depth of the gap you will use, and the height under the lowest shelf. Then ask the seller for the folded size in centimetres. The listing will not return those figures. A 160 cm open depth, where a listing even prints one, still needs a long slot if the fold is only flat with no pack size.
