Best 9kW sauna heater for a UK cabin or a steam shower

Updated: October 2026

You can have three “best” tabs open at once: a Harvia at £990.00, a stone stove at £245.00 with no reviews, and a steam kit at £350.55 with 76 ratings. A best 9kW sauna heater on amazon.co.uk is the row that matches the room you are building, not a trophy from a lab we did not run. On 20 October 2026 the seven listings in our [9 kW sauna heater comparison](/hub/steam-baths/sauna-heater-9kw) ran from £245.00 to £990.00. The Products Compared editorial team read those amazon.co.uk pages and the public notes behind them. A qualifying purchase through our links can earn a commission at no extra cost to you. The pounds below are that day’s shelf prices.

If you want a named Finnish stove

The only named Finnish oven in the set is the Harvia Spirit SP90XW at £990.00. The listing claims a Xenio WiFi touch panel and control through the MyHarvia app. The star line is 4.9 from 14 ratings, and the five review texts in our raw file were written in Germany. One says the WiFi function did not work. Another buyer reported a barrel of about 10 m³ coming up to heat in 20–25 minutes. That is one person’s cabin, not a test we repeated. The amazon.co.uk table leaves voltage, room volume and temperature blank, and it does not say the stones are in the box. Take the Spirit if you want the Harvia name and you will confirm volts and room volume with the seller. Leave it if those figures are not printed on the page, or if you are fitting a steam shower.

If you want the lowest stone-heater price

The generic wall stove at £245.00 is the lowest shelf price, and the comparison marks it as the best-value price in this set for that reason alone. It states 9 kW for 9–13 m³ and a mechanical knob up to 90°C. Stones of 14–20 kg and the power cord are extra, and the wiring is a professional job. There is no star line. Voltage is missing. The technical table prints a product size of 0.1 cm. Use it only if you already want a stone heater, you have an electrician booked, and you will buy rocks as a second order. It is a poor fit if you wanted reviews, a printed voltage, or steam. The £559.99 stove does print 200–240 V and a limit of 110°C, but its room line of 2–13 m³ covers the whole 3–9 kW family, so it is not a measured cabin for the 9 kW part.

If you want steam, not a sauna

The older CGOLDENWALL kit at £350.55 states 220 V, 8.5 m³, 35–55°C and a timer of 1–60 minutes. It is the largest review file here, at 3.7 from 76. The UK review from May 2023 says there was no steam and that the seller did not reply. Other texts mention weak steam or a failed element. Use it only for a sealed wet room near that 8.5 m³ claim. The ST-90 at £417.04 says the default is 220 V and that 380 V is a different model. It states the same 8.5 m³ and 35–55°C band, and the box adds a drain valve and a safety valve. The star line is 5.0 from 2 ratings. The Hanchen at £489.00 and the KXJQBM at £331.79 are titled 380 V. Skip both unless an electrician has confirmed that supply. If the cabin-or-shower choice is still open, settle it on the sauna heater or steam generator page before you sort by price.

What best cannot mean here

No UK lab compared these seven ASINs, so best cannot mean safest, hottest, or a test-house preference. It also cannot mean the highest star average. The only United Kingdom review text is the older CGOLDENWALL, and it says the steam kit produced no steam. Attach a person to a row: the Spirit if you will confirm the blanks, the £245.00 stove if you accept no reviews and extra stones, and a 220 V CGOLDENWALL only for steam near 8.5 m³.

Common questions

Is the Harvia the best 9 kW heater?
The Harvia Spirit SP90XW at £990.00 is the only named Finnish oven here, and the listing claims a WiFi panel. The product table leaves voltage and room volume blank. The 4.9 from 14 ratings comes with German review texts, and one says WiFi did not work. It is the wrong machine for a 35–55°C steam shower.
Is the £245 heater good enough?
The £245.00 wall stove states 9–13 m³ and a knob to 90°C. It is good enough only if you accept no customer ratings, a missing voltage line, and stones of 14–20 kg sold separately. The comparison marks that shelf price as the best-value figure in the set, not as a tested cabin.
Which steam generator has the most reviews?
The older CGOLDENWALL kit at £350.55 has 76 ratings at 3.7, the deepest file in this set. The UK text from May 2023 says there was no steam. The newer ST-90 at £417.04 has 5.0 from 2 ratings and lists a drain valve and a safety valve.
Should I buy the WiFi version?
Buy the Spirit’s claimed Xenio WiFi panel only if you want app control and you can confirm the panel is in the carton. One German review says the WiFi function did not work. The listing still omits voltage and room volume.
Who should not buy the 380 V Hanchen?
Leave the Hanchen at £489.00 if your house is a normal UK 230 V single-phase supply. The title states 380 V, the room claim is within 7.5 m³, and the band is 35–55°C. Both review texts report a later failure, on a 3.0 average from five ratings. The automatic water system is sold separately.
