Best daisy seeds on amazon.co.uk

Updated: 21 October 2026

You want the packet the UK review files can support, rather than the highest star from the thinnest sample. Best daisy seeds, among the nine listings on the [Daisy seeds](/hub/seeds-and-plants/daisy-seeds) comparison, means a named plant, one seed count, and a review file large enough to show both successes and blank pots. The top pick is JustSeed oxeye, Leucanthemum vulgare, at about £4.25, with 3 g stated as 9,000 seeds and 4.2 from 606 reviews. That is a meadow packet. It is not a certificate that every seed will come up. Prices are the amazon.co.uk figures in these files, and links to Amazon are affiliate links.

Best for a named meadow oxeye

JustSeed oxeye, part QW-ITIU-6HHF, is where the Latin name and the count agree: Leucanthemum vulgare, 3 g, 9,000 seeds, full sun, stated height 65 cm. The main comparison scores it 74, the highest in this set. A figure of about 3,000 seeds per gram makes 9,000 in 3 g plausible, and it does not prove the bag that arrives. The first 50 UK reviews include about 100 plants from part of a tray, and also blank pots, two inches of growth with no flowers, and one buyer who says the plants were not daisies. A lawn sowing produced nothing. Some flowered the same year. Others stayed as leaves until the next year. If you need a July carpet from a spring sowing, this is the wrong best. If you are unsure you want a meadow plant, use the daisy seeds buying guide.

The other oxeye packets

Mr Fothergill's white ox eye daisy is the closer alternative if you can accept a common name. It is about £3.79, 750 seeds, stated height 60 cm, with 4.2 from 198 reviews. The bullets call it a hardy perennial that flowers the year after sowing. The file does not print Leucanthemum vulgare. UK reviews include quick leaves, and also no seedlings and weeds rather than daisies. The missing Latin name is why it is not the top pick. Damavand oxeye is Leucanthemum vulgare, 2 g stated as 6,000 seeds, at about £3.19, stated height 40 cm. The line is 4.4 from 40, with three short UK reviews: quality, more seed than needed, and not all of them bloomed. The care line says Dry Clean. A 4.4 from 40 does not outrank 4.2 from 606, and 40 cm sits below the RHS figure of up to 90 cm. Height against the lawn daisy is on oxeye daisy or English daisy.

What not to call best

Nika Pomponette is about £2.95 and 4.1 from 12 reviews. It is Bellis perennis at 15 cm, and the count is 450, 3,000, and 300 in different fields. One buyer counted about 220. Written reviews include quick germination, a blank sowing, and ordinary straggly daisies rather than double buttons. That clash is why the cheaper price is not a best-value badge. JustSeed erigeron Profusion is about 100 seeds at about £4.15 and 3.2 from 64, and the written UK reviews are mostly blank pots or a count closer to 20. Nika Swan River daisy is about £2.95, with no review line and counts of 1,500, 120, and 300. The two UIOYEWRG gerbera packets are about £5.88 and £5.99, with no species, no count, and no reviews. Their bullets say a cold-hardy perennial. The RHS says most gerberas will not survive below 5°C, and Everlast and Garvinea are not named here.

Which job this top pick is for

Choose JustSeed when you want a named meadow oxeye and can wait a year. Choose Mr Fothergill's when a smaller count and a common name are enough. Skip both if you need flowers this summer. Swan River daisy has no reviews, and the gerbera packets have no species, so neither is a summer top pick.

Common questions

Which packet has the most UK reviews?
JustSeed oxeye has 4.2 from 606 reviews, the largest file in this set. Mr Fothergill's is 4.2 from 198 and Damavand is 4.4 from 40. Swan River daisy and both gerbera packets have no review line. The top pick follows the large named file, not the highest star on a small sample.
Does 4.2 from 606 mean they all germinated?
No. The average includes trays of seedlings and blank pots, a lawn sowing that produced nothing, and one buyer who says the plants were not daisies. None of these listings prints a germination percentage.
Is the £5.99 gerbera better because it costs more?
No. The £5.99 file and the £5.88 file have no species, no seed count, and no reviews. The bullets claim a cold-hardy perennial. The RHS says most gerberas will not survive below 5°C unless a hardy series is named, and Everlast and Garvinea are not named here. In this set the dearest packets are the least described.
Is Mr Fothergill's oxeye a different species from JustSeed?
JustSeed says Leucanthemum vulgare. Mr Fothergill's says ox eye daisy and does not print the Latin name. Both are sold as the meadow oxeye, at 65 cm and 60 cm. You cannot confirm the species from the Mr Fothergill's file alone. UK reviews on that packet include both quick leaves and weeds rather than daisies.
Why is there no best-value badge on the £2.95 packets?
Pomponette and Swan River daisy are both about £2.95. Pomponette's count is 450, 3,000, and 300, and one buyer counted about 220. Swan River daisy's count is 1,500, 120, and 300, with no reviews. A best-value badge would need one plant and one count. These two do not have that. Damavand oxeye at about £3.19 is cheaper than JustSeed and still loses on a thin review file and a Dry Clean care line.
