125mm disc bore and max rpm

Updated: October 2026

The disc is on the bench and the grinder or compact saw is in front of you. The hole looks right, and you are about to spin the nut down. A 125mm disc bore and max rpm check is the pause before that. Diameter, bore, guard, and maximum speed are easy to mismatch. Changing a shield so a larger blade fits is not a fit. This page is the measurements and the manual. The table is the [125mm wood cutting disc comparison](/hub/saw-accessories/125mm-wood-cutting-disc). Peter F. used the amazon.co.uk files from 16 October 2026. There is no lab test. Diameter and the guard

Read the diameter on the disc and on the tool before you trust the bore. A 125 mm disc belongs on a 125 mm guard. A 115 mm grinder is a different body, even when both use a 22.23 mm hole. If the guard will not cover the disc, it does not fit. Taking the guard off does not repair that. One UK note on the Chersun blades says 125 mm blades went on a 115 mm cordless Einhell after the shield was changed. That is a report, not a method. If your grinder is marked 115 mm, buy a 115 mm accessory the manual allows. Oiieco shows the trap in a title. The diameter cell says 125 mm and the title also says 115–125 mm. Measure the disc you were sent. If the blade has teeth, settle the type on the grit or toothed blade page.

Bore and reducing rings

Once the diameter matches the guard, read the hole. The usual figure here is 22.23 mm, the same as a 7/8 inch arbor on most small UK angle grinders. Bosch and HAWCUT state 22.23 mm. If your grinder spindle is 22.23 mm, the disc should slide on without a ring. A ring on a grinder arbor is a rattle. A circular saw is where the ring matters, and only for a blade that saw is designed to take. HAWCUT includes rings to 20 mm. They will not help a 16 mm arbor. Chersun’s bullet includes a 16 mm ring. If the promised ring is missing, stop. Do not wind tape onto the arbor. The order of these checks is the buying guide.

Maximum rpm

The disc’s maximum has to be at least the speed of the tool. Read the mark on the disc, then the tool. HAWCUT states 12,000 rpm and VBVOO states 10,000 rpm. A fine HAWCUT cut at 4,200 rpm is a saw-speed story. It is not a licence to put that blade on a faster grinder. Bosch and Oiieco state no maximum on the amazon.co.uk file. Toolstation’s 12,250 rpm is part 2608902375, which is not this Bosch ASIN. If the disc you unpack has no mark, you do not invent one.

When to stop

Stop if the accessory is a toothed blade and the tool is an angle grinder. PSA5 is about that combination, because of kickback. Stop too if the guard will not close, the manual does not list the accessory, the disc has no speed mark, or the pack is missing the ring you need. On a job, PUWER expects work equipment to be suitable and guarded. HSE treats wood dust as a health risk once the job is more than a nick.

Common questions

Is 22.23 mm the same as 7/8 inch?
Yes. 22.23 mm is a 7/8 inch arbor, the usual spindle on a small UK angle grinder. Bosch, HAWCUT, and SHYSBV state that bore. Chersun’s bullet says 22.2 mm, and one review calls the hole 23 mm, so measure if they conflict. A matching bore still leaves diameter, guard, and maximum rpm to check.
When do I need a 20 mm ring, and when a 16 mm ring?
You need a 20 mm ring when the saw arbor is 20 mm. HAWCUT includes those rings for its 22.23 mm blades. You need a 16 mm ring when the arbor is 16 mm. Chersun’s bullet includes that ring. A 20 mm ring will not hold a 16 mm shaft. A grinder with a 22.23 mm spindle does not need a reducing ring.
What if the disc has no rpm mark?
Do not run it on a guess. Bosch’s amazon.co.uk file has no maximum rpm, and several other packs are blank too. A Screwfix figure of 13,300 rpm and a Toolstation figure of 12,250 rpm belong to other pages, and the Toolstation part is not this Bosch ASIN. If the disc itself has no mark, the speed is unknown.
Can I run a disc rated 10,000 rpm on a faster grinder?
No. The disc maximum has to be at least the tool speed. VBVOO states 10,000 rpm. A tool that runs above that is outside the listing, before you deal with the toothed blade and the angle-grinder wording. HAWCUT’s 12,000 rpm and Chersun’s 13,000 rpm still have to sit above the tool you own.
What should I do if the guard will not close?
Take the disc off. A guard that will not close means the diameter or the accessory is wrong for that tool. Do not remove the guard to finish the nut, and do not copy a review that changed a shield on a 115 mm grinder. Fit a disc the manual allows, or move the cut to a saw designed for that blade.
