Worx WX531 vs WX520

Updated: October 2026

You are choosing a compact kit at £99.00 or a 190 mm body at £160.75, and the dearer saw looks more capable until you notice the battery is not in the box. Worx WX531 vs WX520, on these amazon.co.uk listings, is 41 mm with a 2.0 Ah pack against a stated 65 mm with no pack at all. ExacTrack is a different saw. The five-row table stays on the [Worx circular saw comparison](/hub/power-saws/worx-circular-saw). The wider trap list stays on the [Worx circular saw buying guide](/hub/power-saws/worx-circular-saw/sub/worx-circular-saw-buying-guide). Products Compared read those UK listings on 16 October 2026 and did not run a lab cut. A qualifying purchase through our links can earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

What each Amazon price buys

The WX531 kit, B083PBR6V2, is £99.00 and 4.5 from 350 reviews. The included line names a battery, a charger, a case and three blades, and a bullet says 2.0 Ah. You can cut as soon as it arrives, provided 41 mm is enough. The WX520.9 Nitro body, B08BCKXP7K, is £160.75 and 4.4 from 56 reviews. The highlight says the battery and charger are sold separately. The included line names a 190 mm TCT blade, a hex key, a parallel guide, a vacuum adaptor and the saw. A PowerShare pack, which these pages do not price, turns £160.75 into the real cost. Worx UK sells a WX520 kit with a 4.0 Ah pack at £207.99, a manufacturer shelf. Nitro reviews in the small UK sample say a 4 Ah pack is the minimum when ripping.

Depth, and the three numbers on the larger saw

The kit bullets state 41 mm at 90 degrees and 29.5 mm at 45 degrees. A Homebase manual prints the same pair. The speed field says 6900 RPM and a bullet says 6,100 RPM. The Nitro item type states 65 mm at 90 degrees and bevel from 0 to 57 degrees. The blade-length field says 185 mm while the included blade says 190 mm. Worx UK's WX520 kit page prints 64 mm in the marketing line and 67.5 mm at 90 degrees in the table, plus a line comparing the saw with a 900 W corded saw. Do not pick 67.5 mm over the Amazon item type's 65 mm, and do not treat 900 W as this motor. The wattage field says 520.9 watts, which copies the model number. The power-source field says both battery and corded electric.

When the compact saw is the wrong depth

Forty-one millimetres will cross 18 mm ply. On the bare sibling, a UK review put timber near 47 mm past the depth. The kit's price does not fix that. Choose the Nitro body when the stock is thicker than about 41 mm and a pack is already budgeted. In 14 saved bodies, reviewers get a clean cut if they do not push, and they stall it when there is friction. That is a pattern in a small file, not a failure rate. How to set the depth is how to use a Worx circular saw.

The other WX520.9 page is not the decider

B098XRTG7Q is also labelled WX520.9, at £127.49 and 4.6 from 69. It shares the hero image URL with B08BCKXP7K. The fields do not match: 5,200 RPM, blade shape Rectangular, origin Turkey, manufacturer Positec, one saw in the included line, and no stated depth. The 14 saved bodies are from Italy, Germany and Spain. Do not treat 4.6 as proof that the cheaper page is the same Nitro saw. If you want the 190 mm blade, the parallel guide and the 65 mm item-type line, stay on B08BCKXP7K and add the pack. Take the kit when 41 mm will go through the stock and you need a battery in the box. Take the Nitro body when the stock is thicker and the pack is extra money. Who should skip both is on the best Worx circular saw page.

Common questions

When is 41 mm enough?
When the timber is inside the kit bullets: 41 mm at 90 degrees and 29.5 mm at 45 degrees. Eighteen-millimetre ply is inside that figure. A bevelled cut eats depth, so 29.5 mm at 45 degrees is the number to use if the shoe is tilted. The Homebase WX531 manual prints the same pair.
When is the 190 mm saw the one that can finish the cut?
When the stock is thicker than about 41 mm and you can add a PowerShare pack. The Amazon item type on B08BCKXP7K states 65 mm at 90 degrees. A UK review that needed about 47 mm was already beyond the compact saw. The Nitro still stalls in the small UK sample if you push it.
Does the WX520 price include a battery?
The £160.75 Nitro listing does not. The highlight says the battery and charger are sold separately. Worx UK's kit with a 4.0 Ah pack is £207.99, which is a different page. Budget the pack before you call £160.75 the price of a working saw.
Why do 64 mm, 65 mm and 67.5 mm all appear?
They come from different pages. Amazon's item type says 65 mm. Worx UK's WX520 kit page says 64 mm in the marketing line and 67.5 mm in the table. Quote the page you are reading. Do not average them into one depth.
Is the £127.49 WX520.9 the same saw, only cheaper?
The model number matches and the hero image URL matches. The fields do not: speed, blade shape, origin, manufacturer and included line all differ, and the saved reviews are not from the United Kingdom. It is a data warning, not the third saw in this choice.
Which one if the timber is about 47 mm?
The compact saw is the wrong depth. A UK review on the bare WX531.9 already found about 47 mm past the 41 mm claim. The Nitro item type states 65 mm, and you still have to price a battery. If you cannot add a pack, neither listing finishes that cut.
