Einhell cordless or corded mitre saw

Updated: 21 October 2026

The £109.49 cordless saw looks close to a corded slider, until you notice the box has no battery. Choosing an Einhell cordless or corded mitre saw is a comparison of a working tool with a working tool. A corded price includes the power. A solo price does not. In this set the corded saws run from the TC-MS 2112 at £63.00 to the TC-SM 216 at £129.95 and the TC-SM 2534/1 Dual at £187.07. The cordless bodies are the TE-MS 18/210 at £109.49, the TE-SM 36/210 at £199.98 and the TE-SM 36/10 Li at £281.99. Those are the amazon.co.uk shelf figures in the captured listings. The [Einhell mitre saw comparison](/hub/power-saws/einhell-mitre-saw) lists every ASIN. Width and bevel forks sit in the [buying guide](/hub/power-saws/einhell-mitre-saw/sub/einhell-mitre-saw-buying-guide). This page stays on the supply. Peter F. wrote it on 19 October 2026 from Einhell's UK pages, a B&Q body-only listing, the Power X-Change brochure and the UK review themes on the listings. It is not a lab test, and the brochure's cut counts are illustrations, not a measured UK runtime. A qualifying purchase can earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

What the solo price leaves out

Solo, on these Power X-Change saws, means body only. The TE-MS 18/210 bullets say the battery and charger are sold separately, and they recommend a pack of 2.5 Ah Plus or higher. You need one 18 V pack. The TE-SM 36/210 and the TE-SM 36/10 Li are 36 V tools that take two 18 V packs. UK reviews of the TE-SM 36/210 say two batteries, and the TE-SM 36/10 Li bullet says two 18 V batteries and a fast charger, sold separately. One 18 V pack does not run those 36 V saws. A listing field that says LR44 on the 18 V saw, or 144 W and 120 W on the 36 V saws, is a bad specification row, not a different battery system. The amazon price is not the only UK price, and it is still not a kit price. Einhell's UK shop, when these pages were opened, listed the TE-SM 36/210 Li-Solo at £240.95 including VAT, against £199.98 on amazon.co.uk, still with zero batteries. A B&Q listing in the same search showed the same body-only saw at £240.94. Einhell's page for the TE-MS 18/210 was £154.95 against £109.49 on Amazon. Both shops are selling the saw without packs. If you already own two 4 Ah packs, the amazon body price is a fair comparison with a corded saw. If you do not, add the packs before you decide the cordless saw is about the same money. This page does not invent a pack price.

When 18 V is enough

The TE-MS 18/210, article 4300890, is the narrow cordless saw. Einhell's UK sheet puts the cut at 120 × 60 mm. The amazon bullets do not state a slide, the head tilts to the left, and the saw is 4.5 from 677 reviews at £109.49. English reviews say buyers used batteries they already owned, carried the 7.8 kg saw in one hand, and finished a room of laminate on one 4 Ah or 5 Ah pack. They also cut 4x2, and one reviewer used it on sleepers. That is enough evidence to treat 18 V as usable on narrow stock and on a laminate floor, if the pack is 4 Ah or 5 Ah rather than the smallest cell in the drawer. It is not enough when the board is wider than about 120 mm, or when you are on a site all day. One reviewer wished they had bought the sliding version. Site work needed several batteries. A blade dulled towards the end of a 4 m by 6 m laminate job. The dust bag reviewers mention collected nothing over a week. Einhell's brochure draws cuts per amp-hour for Power X-Change tools. Those drawings are not a promise that your skirting will match the picture, and they are not a count of minutes. If the timber is a wide board, 18 V in this set is the wrong architecture even with a full pack. Step up to a slider, corded or 36 V, rather than forcing the cut.

When the 36 V slider earns the second battery

The TE-SM 36/210, article 4300880, is the cordless slider with a real UK review sample. It is 4.5 from 606 reviews at £199.98 body only. The highlight claims a 210 mm blade and a 65 × 310 mm cut, and the head tilts up to 45 degrees to the left. Einhell's UK page states 310 × 65 mm at 90 degrees, a left tilt and a 2.5 Ah Plus recommendation, at a shop price of £240.95. UK reviews say it cuts C24, decking, joists, larch handrails, skirting and architrave, and that 4 Ah or larger packs lasted a day of skirting for some buyers. A 2 Ah pack feels short in those notes. One buyer chose it for a garage with no mains socket. That is the condition: no convenient 230 V supply, a board inside about 310 mm, and two packs of at least 2.5 Ah, preferably 4 Ah, already owned or budgeted. Do not call this saw brushless. The special-features field says brushless and the bullets do not. The Einhell service sheet for 4300880 lists 3,800 rpm, a 210 × 30 mm blade, 40 teeth, 310 × 65 mm and a 36 mm suction adapter. The amazon fields say 1,900 rpm, 54 teeth and a 30 cm blade length. Use the service sheet and the highlight, not the clashing fields. The TE-SM 36/10 Li, article 4300885, is the other 36 V slider, at £281.99, and its bullets do say brushless, at 3,800 rpm, with a 340 mm cross-cut, 85 mm thickness and a 254 mm blade in the box. It is 4.5 from 56 reviews, and the English UK notes are thin. One review finished a large job on a single charge. That is one job, not a runtime you can plan a week around. The highlight says single bevel. Pay the extra over the TE-SM 36/210 only if you need that wider claim and you accept the smaller review sample.

When a cable is the clearer buy

If there is a socket, the corded TC-SM 216 is the clearer buy for a board within 305 mm. It is £129.95, 4.6 from 967 reviews, and the bullets claim 305 mm at 90 degrees and 210 mm at 45 degrees, with a left tilt and a 36 mm port. You are not adding two packs to that price. UK reviews still want the blade set square, and they still complain about a faint laser, so the cable does not make the saw a measured precision tool. It does remove the battery sum. For narrow stock and a socket, the TC-MS 2112 at £63.00 is cheaper again, at 4.4 from 6,451 reviews, and it stops at about 120 mm with no slide. The best Einhell mitre saw page puts those two corded saws against the jobs they fit. The recommendation is conditional. Buy the TC-SM 216 if you have a socket and the board is within the stated 305 mm at 90 degrees, or 210 mm once you are at 45 degrees. Buy the TE-SM 36/210 only if two packs of 2.5 Ah or more are already yours or already in the budget, and you need to work away from a socket, inside about 310 mm, with a left tilt. Buy the TE-MS 18/210 only under about 120 mm, with one pack around 4 Ah if you can. Buy the TE-SM 36/10 Li only when the 340 mm bullet is the cut you need and the thin review sample is acceptable. Do not line £199.98 up against £129.95 and call them equivalent. One figure is a saw that plugs in. The other is a saw that still needs two batteries.

Common questions

Does the Einhell cordless mitre saw include a battery?
No. The TE-MS 18/210, the TE-SM 36/210 and the TE-SM 36/10 Li are body only on amazon.co.uk and on Einhell's UK shop pages used here. The charger is separate as well. The prices £109.49, £199.98 and £281.99 are saws without packs. A corded TC-SM 216 at £129.95 includes the way it gets power, as long as you have a 230 V socket and a BS 1363 plug.
Why do I need two batteries for 36 V?
Because these 36 V Einhell mitre saws are built from two 18 V Power X-Change packs. The TE-SM 36/210 reviews say two batteries. The TE-SM 36/10 Li bullet says two 18 V batteries and a fast charger, sold separately. One pack is the TE-MS 18/210, which is an 18 V saw with a cut around 120 mm, not a way to run the larger slider at half voltage.
Is 18 V enough for skirting and 4x2?
For narrow skirting and for 4x2, reviewers of the TE-MS 18/210 say yes, including a room of laminate on one 4 Ah or 5 Ah pack. Einhell states about 120 × 60 mm, and there is no slide. Wide skirting that needs a cut well past that width does not fit, however large the pack is. A 2.5 Ah pack is Einhell's stated minimum. Reviewers who finished a room were on 4 Ah or 5 Ah.
When is a corded TC-SM 216 the simpler buy?
When you have a socket and the board is within 305 mm at 90 degrees, or 210 mm at 45 degrees. At £129.95 and 4.6 from 967 reviews it is a complete saw in this comparison. It is simpler than a £199.98 body that still needs two packs, unless those packs are already on the shelf and you cannot reach a socket. The laser is still a check, not a guarantee.
What amp-hour does Einhell recommend?
2.5 Ah Plus or higher, on the TE-MS 18/210 bullets and on Einhell's TE-SM 36/210 page. UK reviews of the 36 V slider say 2 Ah packs feel short and point to 4 Ah or more for a day of skirting. That day is a reviewer's description, not a timed test. The brochure's cuts-per-amp-hour drawings are illustrations, not a promise of how long your timber will last.
Are the brochure cut-counts a promise?
No. The 2023 Power X-Change brochure shows cuts by amp-hour as Einhell illustrates them. It does not measure your timber, your blade or a UK working day. Do not turn a drawing of so many cuts into a full day on one charge. The only runtime notes in this set are individual reviews, such as one laminate room on a 4 Ah or 5 Ah pack.
Is the TE-SM 36/210 brushless?
Not on the evidence in the bullets. Article 4300880 has a special-features field that says brushless, and the bullets do not say it. Do not buy it on that field. The TE-SM 36/10 Li, article 4300885, does say PurePOWER brushless in the bullets, at 3,800 rpm. That is a different saw, at £281.99, with a thinner UK review sample.
Can I run a 36 V saw on one 18 V pack?
No. The TE-SM 36/210 and the TE-SM 36/10 Li need two 18 V packs. Reviews and the bullets agree on two. A single pack belongs on the TE-MS 18/210, which is a different, non-sliding saw with a much smaller cut. Leaving one bay empty is not a low-power mode these listings describe.
