Einhell mitre saw buying guide

Updated: 21 October 2026

You have already chosen Einhell, and the seven amazon.co.uk listings do not agree with themselves. A bullet can say 1,600 W while the wattage field says 1,400 W. This Einhell mitre saw buying guide sorts board width, a left-only or both-ways head, and a cable or a Power X-Change body. The [Einhell mitre saw comparison](/hub/power-saws/einhell-mitre-saw) tables the seven ASINs. This page explains the choice. It does not teach the cut, and it does not name a single winner. Peter F. compared those listings and Einhell's UK pages on 19 October 2026. It is not a lab test. A qualifying purchase can earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

Start with the width of the cut

The width of the timber decides the saw before the star rating does. Einhell's UK page for the TC-MS 2112, article 4300295, states 120 × 55 mm and a left tilt, at 1,600 W S6. The bullets give 120 × 55 mm on the left and 80 × 32 mm on the right, and they do not state a slide. UK reviews say a floorboard is too wide. The TE-MS 18/210, article 4300890, sits in that class at 120 × 60 mm, also with no slide stated. A batten or a narrow architrave can live there. A wide board needs a stated slide. The TC-SM 216 claims up to 305 mm at 90 degrees and 210 mm at 45 degrees. The TE-SM 36/210 highlight claims 65 × 310 mm. The TC-SM 2534/1 Dual claims a drag up to 340 mm, and Einhell's page for article 4300395 states 340 × 75 mm on a 250 mm blade. The TE-SM 36/10 Li claims 340 mm and up to 85 mm thick. The TE-SM 8L claims 305 mm by up to 65 mm. Capacity falls when you mitre and bevel together. If the board does not fit the 120 mm class, compare sliders before you compare prices.

Then decide if the head must tilt both ways

The turntable is the mitre. The head lean is the bevel. Left-only in this set is the TC-MS 2112, the TC-SM 216, the TE-MS 18/210 and the TE-SM 36/210. You flip the board for the other face. That suits square skirting you can turn, and it is awkward if the moulding only cuts cleanly one way up. The TC-SM 2534/1 Dual bullets say the head tilts both ways. The TE-SM 8L bullets also say left and right up to 45 degrees. The TE-SM 36/10 Li highlight says single bevel, so do not buy it as a both-ways saw. The Dual is £187.07, 4.3 from 1,027 reviews. One UK review reached about 43 degrees rather than the marked 45, and called the angle scale a sticker. The TE-SM 8L is £189.95 and 4.6 from 30 reviews, with no review marked reviewed in the United Kingdom. If you can flip the board, the left-only TC-SM 216 at £129.95 is the simpler fork. The best Einhell mitre saw page names one model per job.

Corded price is the whole saw; solo price is not

A corded price includes the power if you have a UK socket. Mains are nominally 230 V, and the plug you want is BS 1363. Captured rows also print 220 V or 240 V. Shelf prices are £63.00 for the TC-MS 2112, £129.95 for the TC-SM 216, £187.07 for the Dual and £189.95 for the TE-SM 8L. The three cordless saws are body only. The TE-MS 18/210 is £109.49 and needs one 18 V pack, recommended at 2.5 Ah Plus or higher. The TE-SM 36/210 is £199.98 and the TE-SM 36/10 Li is £281.99. On those saws, 36 V means two 18 V packs, and neither the packs nor a charger is in the box. A rule of thumb, not a measured shop price, is to add two 4 Ah packs before you line a solo price against a corded slider. Einhell's own shop was higher, including about £87.95 for the TC-MS 2112 against £63.00 on Amazon. Solo is the right word only if you already own the packs. The Einhell cordless or corded mitre saw page stays on that gap.

Which listing fields to ignore

Trust Einhell's article number, then the bullets. On the TC-MS 2112 the bullet says 1,600 W and the wattage field says 1,400 W, and a line asks for a lithium-ion battery on an AC saw. On the TC-SM 216 the speed field says 1,900 rpm, which the bullets do not print, and the blade-length field says 305 mm, the cutting width. On the Dual the title says 2,350 W and the wattage field says 2,100 W. The 340 mm figure is the drag. Einhell states a 250 mm blade. A surface field that mentions metal and masonry conflicts with bullets limited to wood, coated board and plastic. On the TE-SM 8L, ignore the SDS-max demolition-hammer sentence, and a 305 mm blade field when the title says 216 mm. On the TE-MS 18/210 the battery field says LR44 while the bullets ask for a Power X-Change pack. Do not call the TE-SM 36/210 brushless: that word is a field, not a bullet. The TE-SM 36/10 Li bullets do say brushless, at 3,800 rpm. The TC-SM 2131/2 Dual is on Einhell's UK shop, article 4300390, and it is not one of these seven ASINs.

Common questions

Do I need a sliding Einhell mitre saw?
You need a slide when the board is wider than the fixed-head cut, about 120 mm on the TC-MS 2112 and about 120 × 60 mm on the TE-MS 18/210. UK reviews say the TC-MS 2112 will not cross-cut a floorboard. A slider here is the TC-SM 216 at 305 mm at 90 degrees, the TE-SM 36/210 at 65 × 310 mm, or the Dual at a stated drag of 340 mm. On a batten, the slide is extra weight and extra money.
What is the difference between left-only bevel and dual bevel?
Left-only means the head leans one way, so you flip the board. That is the TC-MS 2112, the TC-SM 216, the TE-MS 18/210 and the TE-SM 36/210. Dual bevel means left and right, which the Dual bullets state and the TE-SM 8L bullets also claim. The TE-SM 36/10 Li highlight says single bevel. Dual bevel does not make a joint squarer. It saves you turning a moulding that only cuts cleanly one way up.
Why does Amazon say 1,400 W when the bullet says 1,600 W?
On the TC-MS 2112 the bullet says 1,600 W and the wattage field says 1,400 W. Einhell's UK page for article 4300295 also states 1,600 W S6. The same pattern sits on the TC-SM 2534/1 Dual, where the title says 2,350 W and the wattage field says 2,100 W. Use the bullet and the article page, and treat the lone field as a clash. It is not a second, quieter motor hiding in the specification table.
Is the TC-SM 2131 in this comparison?
No. Einhell's UK shop lists a TC-SM 2131/2 Dual, article 4300390, with a 210 mm blade, a 310 mm cross-cut and dual bevel. The shop price on the page opened for this comparison was £157.95. It is not one of the seven amazon.co.uk ASINs here. Do not add it to the table from the manufacturer site, and do not borrow the TC-SM 216's review count for it.
What does solo mean on a Power X-Change mitre saw?
Solo means the saw is in the box and the battery and charger are not. The TE-MS 18/210 needs one 18 V pack, recommended at 2.5 Ah Plus or higher. The TE-SM 36/210 and the TE-SM 36/10 Li need two 18 V packs to make 36 V. The amazon prices of £109.49, £199.98 and £281.99 are body prices. If you do not already own the packs, those figures are not the cost of a saw that cuts.
Can I ignore the 340 mm blade-length field on the TC-SM 2534/1 Dual?
Yes, as a blade diameter. The bullets use 340 mm as the drag, the width the slide will pull through. Einhell's UK page for article 4300395 states a 250 mm blade and a 340 mm cross-cut. The amazon field that repeats 340 mm as blade length is the same kind of clash as the TC-SM 216 field that prints 305 mm for both the blade and the width. Take the 250 mm blade from the article page.
Is a 4.6 from 30 ratings enough to prefer the TE-SM 8L?
No, not against the TC-SM 216. The TE-SM 8L is 4.6 from 30 reviews, with no review marked reviewed in the United Kingdom. The TC-SM 216 is 4.6 from 967 reviews at £129.95. The TE-SM 8L bullets claim both-way tilt and 305 mm by up to 65 mm, but the title, the blade field and a demolition-hammer sentence do not agree.
