Einhell circular saw buying guide

Updated: 21 October 2026

You are looking at eight Einhell hand-held circular saws on amazon.co.uk, and they stay interchangeable until you match a board to the depth line. This Einhell circular saw buying guide takes the decisions in order: depth at 90 degrees, then a Solo body or a 230 V plug, then brake and bore. It does not crown a winner. The [Einhell circular saw comparison](/hub/power-saws/einhell-circular-saw) holds the listings and the shelf prices from 19 October 2026. Peter F. read those pages and did not lab-test the saws. Prices here are that extract, in GBP. If you buy through our links, a qualifying purchase can earn us a commission at no extra cost to you.

Depth at 90 degrees

Start with the thickest piece you will cut, then leave about 5–7 mm of tooth below the wood. Machine Mart’s figure is a rule of thumb, not an Einhell bullet. Stated depths are 28 mm on the TE-CS 18/89 Li, 48 mm on the TE-CS 18/150 Li, up to 51 mm on the TP-CS 18/136-C, 54 mm on the TE-CS 18/165-1, and 57 mm on the TE-CS 18/165-2. The TP-CS 18/165 Li BL bullet says up to 59 mm and the highlight says 58 mm, so plan on 58 mm near the limit. The 190 mm listing states 65 mm in the highlight only. The TC-CS 1410 states 67 mm, the deepest line in the set. A worktop around 40 mm is tight on 48 mm and has room on 54 mm. Bevel depth is 35 mm on the 165-1, 39 mm on the 165-2, and 46 mm on the TC-CS 1410. The other rows leave bevel depth unstated on amazon.

Solo or a plug

Seven listings are 18 V Solo bodies. Solo means the Power X-Change pack and the charger are not in the box, even when a blade is included. The lowest body price here is the 150 mm saw at £61.81. The 165-1 is £74.00 and the mini is £76.99. Those figures beat the brushless bodies only if a pack is already at home. A UK review in the shared 150 mm and 165-1 text says a 2 Ah pack runs out and points toward 4 Ah. That is one reviewer’s session, not a runtime test. The TC-CS 1410 at £71.95 plugs into 230 V, stated at 1,410 W, with no battery to buy. It weighs 4.33 kg, against 2.34 kg for the 150 mm body before a pack is fitted. The supply argument is on the Einhell cordless or corded circular saw page.

Brake and bore

A coasting blade is a separate choice from voltage. The TE-CS 18/165-1 bullets do not state a motor brake, and UK review text says the blade keeps spinning after the trigger. The TP-CS 18/165 Li BL bullet states a motor brake and soft start, and UK reviews say the blade stops with the trigger. The TP-CS 18/136-C bullet states an electric motor brake. A brake is not stated on the 190 mm row, the 165-2, the mini, the 150 mm saw, or the TC-CS 1410. UK reviews of the 190 mm saw include early motor failures, so brushless is not a claim it will outlast the brushed 165-1. The bore has to match the blade you own. The 150 mm bullet says 10 mm or 16 mm. The 165-1 and the 165-2 say 20 mm. The TC-CS 1410 says 30 mm. A 20 mm blade will not mount on the 150 mm arbor. Bore is unstated on amazon for the mini, the 136 mm saw, the TP-CS 18/165, and the 190 mm listing. Where a guide-rail sentence exists, the rail is sold separately, on the Einhell circular saw guide rail page.

Fields to ignore

Buy from the bullets when a catalogue field contradicts them. Ignore “18 watts”, “1,800 W”, “110 Volts, 220 Volts”, “160 teeth”, and “3 sanding sheets”. The TC-CS 1410 is 230 V and 1,410 W. An AAAA cell in a batteries field is not its power source. The 165-2 include line prints “Parallel Fail”, which is not a fence specification. The 190 mm bullets say TE-CS and the highlight says TP-CS. The 150 mm and 165-1 listings share one 4.6 from 3,946. Do not add the counts. Einhell’s UK shop has listed the 165-1 at £92.95 with 4,200 rpm and 18 teeth, against £74.00, 4,500 rpm, and 24 teeth on amazon. Keep the amazon extract. This comparison did not certify the saws to BS EN 62841-2-5. Who each row is for is on the best Einhell circular saw page.

Common questions

What depth at 90 degrees do I need for sheet, floorboards, or a worktop?
Leave about 5–7 mm of tooth below the wood. That is Machine Mart’s rule of thumb. An 18 mm sheet or floorboard can sit inside the 89 mm saw’s 28 mm maximum. A joist cannot. A worktop around 40 mm is tight on the 150 mm saw’s 48 mm and more comfortable on the 165-1’s 54 mm. The TC-CS 1410 states 67 mm.
Is an Einhell Solo circular saw a complete tool?
On these seven cordless listings, Solo means the Power X-Change battery and the charger are not in the box. A blade does not change that. The £61.81 and £74.00 prices are body prices. The TC-CS 1410 at £71.95 plugs into 230 V. If you do not own Einhell packs, add one before you compare the totals.
Which of these saws state a motor brake?
The TP-CS 18/165 Li BL bullet states a motor brake and soft start. The TP-CS 18/136-C bullet states an electric motor brake. The TE-CS 18/165-1 does not, and UK review text says that blade coasts. The other listings do not state a brake. It is the wrong saw if you want the blade to stop with the trigger.
What bore fits the 150 mm saw, the 165-1, and the TC-CS 1410?
The 150 mm bullet says 10 mm or 16 mm. The 165-1 and the 165-2 say 20 mm. The TC-CS 1410 says 30 mm. A blade with the wrong bore will not fit. Bore is not stated on amazon for the mini, the 136 mm saw, the TP-CS 18/165, or the 190 mm listing. Match the blade to the listing you are buying.
Why do the 150 mm and the 165-1 share one 4.6 from 3,946?
amazon.co.uk shows the same 4.6 from 3,946, and the same review text, on both Solo listings. It is one shared line. Do not add the counts. A note about a coasting blade or a 2 Ah pack belongs to that shared text. Check the model number on the page you order.
