Bosch jigsaw laminate flooring

Updated: 21 October 2026

You have chipped a laminate board, or you are about to cut a doorway and you want the face intact. A Bosch jigsaw will cut laminate flooring. The clean face comes from the blade, from pendulum at zero, and from a splinter guard that fits, not from the dearest body. Prices are on the [Bosch jigsaw comparison](/hub/power-saws/bosch-jigsaw). Products Compared used Bosch's UK fraying note, the guard page and these amazon.co.uk scopes on 19 October 2026. We did not cut a floor. The blade in the box is usually the wrong one

Several of these saws ship a T 144 D, and Bosch calls it speed for wood. On a laminate wear layer it lifts chips along the top. UK reviews of the PST 800 PEL mention a cleaner face once the guard is fitted, and they still had one blade in the box. Bosch sells the EXPERT Laminate clean T128BHM, with counter-directed teeth, at about £29.09 for three. The 50-times-longer-than-a-T101B line is Bosch's comparison, not a life we measured. Follow that blade's note for which face meets the shoe. Plunge limits stay on how to use a Bosch jigsaw.

Turn the pendulum off

Pendulum action drives the blade into the cut on the upstroke. On a laminate face that is tear-out. Bosch's page on sawing without fraying starts at 0, including a shelf of about 20–30 mm, and a flooring board is thinner than that. The GST 18V-125 pair has four stages, so zero is a choice, not a default. The PST 700 E bullets do not name a dial. If the dial is there, set it to zero before the blade touches the wear layer. Which saw is complete is on the Bosch jigsaw buying guide.

Fit the guard that matches the saw

The anti-splinter guard closes the gap around the blade. It does not fix a T 144 D by itself. Insert 2 607 010 079 fits the PST 700 E, the PST 800 PEL, the EasySaw, the UniversalSaw and the AdvancedSaw. Insert 2 601 016 096 is the GST piece. The PST 800 PEL includes the first. The GST 18V-125 S uses the second. The GST 18V-95 B includes 2 601 016 065. The EasySaw and the PST 700 E can still take 2 607 010 079. On Systembox B0CX9C8YWS, a UK review says Cut Control does not fit the shoe.

What still will not be a perfect straight rip

A jigsaw blade is narrow. The PST 700 E manual points a long straight cut in wood thicker than 40 mm to a circular saw. Laminate is thinner, and a run of boards is still a long line. Use the jigsaw at the door jamb, the pipe notch and the last board. CutControl on the PST 800 PEL loses the line at the end of the board. Zero pendulum, a T128BHM and the guard for your model are the changes that affect the face. Named picks are on the best Bosch jigsaw page.

Common questions

Can a Bosch jigsaw cut laminate flooring?
Yes, for notches, doorways and short cuts, with the shoe flat and the work supported. The PST 800 PEL reviews include laminate and oak flooring. The EasySaw bullets give laminate as an example of the 70 mm wood depth. A long rip across the room still suits a saw with a wider blade.
Why did the top face chip?
The usual causes are a fast wood blade, pendulum above zero, and a shoe gap with no insert. The T 144 D in several of these boxes is a speed blade for wood. Bosch's fraying note puts pendulum at 0 to reduce tear-out. The splinter guard supports the top fibres and does not replace the blade.
Should I use the blade that came in the box?
Use it for a rough cut in solid timber if that is what the marking says. For laminate, fit a fine or counter-cut blade. Bosch's T128BHM is sold for that, with counter-directed teeth, at about £29.09 for three. The 50 times longer than a T101B line is Bosch's claim. One T 144 D is the wrong tooth for a wear layer.
Does the splinter guard fit every Bosch jigsaw?
No. Insert 2 607 010 079 is the green-range piece for the PST 700 E, PST 800 PEL, EasySaw, UniversalSaw and AdvancedSaw, about £3.45 for five. Insert 2 601 016 096 is the GST piece, including the 12 V model. The GST 18V-95 B in this set is supplied with 2 601 016 065 instead. A guard for the wrong family will not sit in the shoe.
Do I cut with the finished face up?
Follow the blade you have fitted. Bosch describes the T128BHM as counter-directed teeth for a clean laminate cut, so use the face orientation that blade's instructions give you. A standard up-cutting wood blade lifts the top surface, which is why the face chips when the T 144 D is left in. The splinter guard is for the top, beside the shoe.
Which saw in this set already includes a guard?
The PST 800 PEL, both AdvancedSaw listings, the GST 18V-95 B and both GST 18V-125 listings include a splinter guard in the scope we read. The EasySaw lists a blade and a carton. The PST 700 E lists a blade and a case. Those two can still take 2 607 010 079, because Bosch's accessory page names them. The Systembox AdvancedSaw's Cut Control is a separate problem: one UK review says it does not fit that set's shoe.
